Oooh a close competitor to Epic Wings, but a better value in my opinion! The 5-pc tenderloin combo…read moreis $15.99 with 8 veggie sticks, 3 breads, dipping sauce and drink! versus at other places a combo might only have 3 or 4 pieces in a combo. Buffalo Wing Star gives you a lot of food! And it really hits the spot for wings, well cooked tenders with yummy sauces. They have a ton of sauces to choose from, I got the medium which was a bit more toned down for buffalo sauce. I also tried the original hot, which has a nice vinegar kick. The bread is very doughy and soft and it's nice you get three pieces. The location is inside the building of the car wash, which is kinda funny, and parking is available in any of the vacuum spots. The inside is quite small with only a few tables. Not busy at all when I went on a thursday night and many people taking it to go. Overall an awesome choice for wings! A very close competitor to other wing spots

The meal came with carrot sticks and celery, and I chose blue cheese. I'd definitely come here again. It's a small place next to a car wash, it you can park in any open stall. Staff here is super chill and friendly. This place is a gem in Chula Vista.

The atmosphere is laid back They've got indoor and outdoor seating, and outside has plenty of tables to just kick back. I tried the chicken wings 5 piece they came out nice and crispy, nothing crazy, just a solid crunch on the outside and juicy inside. If you like them extra crispy you can ask, but they were already on point. The orange sauce stood out too, not sure what it's called but I'd definitely get that again. Original is what I order Overall, good experience. I'd come back and try more menu items for sure. Located in the heart of San Diego's Convoy District, this place will not disappoint! The chicken is served to order, each piece shatteringly crisp, with a golden-brown crust and deeply flavorful! Crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside (it doesn't get any better than that). For starters, we ordered the fried dumplings, (1) order of Asian sesame seed wings, (1) order of chili oil wings, (1) order of Cajun rub tenders and (1) order of Seoul spicy tenders. The vibe is relaxed with a spacious interior and outside patio, it's the perfect spot for a family or friends gathering. The staff are quick and efficient. Making excellent recommendations for first timer's! Prices are reasonable. And they have a great menu selection! Definitely come check them out!

Not sure exactly how long they have been at this location but I seem to remember a not as appealing restaurant being there before. You walk in and there is enough room for about twenty or so people to dine inside. Always a plus. Staff was super friendly. I'm used to having to pay before served, as that seems to be the norm these days in many placed, not Mae's I was told pay when I leave. That helps to cement in the true restaurant feel. Generous portions and you get a glass of water without even being asked. I did ask and was provided with nice bamboo disposable chop sticks to eat with. I had the Drunken Noodles with Pork. Hot scale 5, and yes it did bring a tear to my eye. Other restaurants can not bring on the heat and flavor. Mae's Thai Kitchen brought on the heat and flavor. I was a bit surprised that there was no hot sauce or soy at the table. Did not ask for any sauce either as was not needed. The noodles and pork were done to perfection. The mark of a good chef is no sauce extra or flavor needed. What came to my table was Perfect. Reasonably priced and could actually feed two people if you wanted. Look at my plate there was a generous supply of pork provided. Yes I'd recommend to friends and family. Hot scale runs from 1 to 5 (I said 100) Food was great!!!

The Tom Kah soup was perfectly sweet/sour - one of the best Tom soups I've ever had! The Cashew Nut tofu was savory and delicious. The veggies were cooked beautifully (not overdone) and the tofu was crispy on the outside yet soft on the inside. Add water chestnuts and it would be perfect. Sabrosito! My husband had the Fried Chicken Wings. They looked like Grandma's fried chicken (no one did fried chicken better) and remained crispy and juicy throughout the whole meal. Sauce was served on the side, which helped with the crispness factor. He was very happy with his meal. The hostess/server/cook (she does it all!) was attentive and helpful. And boy, can she cook! Yum! We will definitely be back!

Super chill pizza spot right literally steps away from the water in imperial beach…read more The location alone is a win , you can literally grab a slice and walk straight to the sand. They've got both indoor and outdoor seating, but on a hot day I'd definitely recommend sitting outside because it gets pretty warm inside. Atleast outside on the deck you can get a breeze. The staff was super friendly and welcoming, which always makes a difference. We tried a mix of pizzas. Kids got classic pepperoni & cheese (NY thin style) I got the mushroom pesto (good, flavorful and light) Hubby got a Hawaiian with jalapeños (deep dish style) Loved that they offer different styles depending on what you're craving. Overall, it's a laid back, spot with good pizza and a great beachside vibe. Would definitely come back. And the ranch is really good.

The last pizza stop I made was Village Pizzeria on Coronado. I definitely like the crust here more…read more It was nicely crispy after going back into the oven. I got a slice of the buffalo chicken looking one and a slice of the ricotta, marinara, and meatball concoction they call "crime scene." The lady at the counter said that's their best seller and a customer favorite, and I can taste why. Something about the way the marinara is portioned makes it super appetizing. Like, I'll take two bites of mostly ricotta cheese, and it'll almost start to feel cloying. But then I get to the next section of marinara, and it's like my taste buds are refreshed. In contrast, the chicken one was not great. I thought it was drier than it looked, and the chicken was too lean, bland, and overcooked for my preference. But the crust was still good. I may come back, but not for any of the chicken ones.
