The meal came with carrot sticks and celery, and I chose blue cheese. I'd definitely come here again. It's a small place next to a car wash, it you can park in any open stall. Staff here is super chill and friendly. This place is a gem in Chula Vista.

Buffalo Wing Star gives you a lot of food! And it really hits the spot for wings, well cooked tenders with yummy sauces. They have a ton of sauces to choose from, I got the medium which was a bit more toned down for buffalo sauce. I also tried the original hot, which has a nice vinegar kick. The bread is very doughy and soft and it's nice you get three pieces. The location is inside the building of the car wash, which is kinda funny, and parking is available in any of the vacuum spots. The inside is quite small with only a few tables. Not busy at all when I went on a thursday night and many people taking it to go. Overall an awesome choice for wings! A very close competitor to other wing spots

We chose to get 3 orders of the crispy fried wings with sauce (9 pieces), because we wanted to try three different sauces. The crispy batter for all of the wings stayed quite crispy, even though the wings were tossed in sauce. My favorite one was the signature sauce (yangnyeom) which was the perfect mixture of sweet, tangy, and savory flavors. It has a slight kick to it from the gochujang. My second favorite was the honey soy, and the third was the cheese flavor. They were all tasty though! We also got the tteokbokki which is chewy rice cakes with fish cakes. It was good, and a pretty decent size for $16. The only dish I wouldn't get again is the corn cheese because it was a bit overcooked. Overall, this is an amazing choice for Korean fried chicken in SD, and I'd definitely return.

Not sure exactly how long they have been at this location but I seem to remember a not as appealing restaurant being there before. You walk in and there is enough room for about twenty or so people to dine inside. Always a plus. Staff was super friendly. I'm used to having to pay before served, as that seems to be the norm these days in many placed, not Mae's I was told pay when I leave. That helps to cement in the true restaurant feel. Generous portions and you get a glass of water without even being asked. I did ask and was provided with nice bamboo disposable chop sticks to eat with. I had the Drunken Noodles with Pork. Hot scale 5, and yes it did bring a tear to my eye. Other restaurants can not bring on the heat and flavor. Mae's Thai Kitchen brought on the heat and flavor. I was a bit surprised that there was no hot sauce or soy at the table. Did not ask for any sauce either as was not needed. The noodles and pork were done to perfection. The mark of a good chef is no sauce extra or flavor needed. What came to my table was Perfect. Reasonably priced and could actually feed two people if you wanted. Look at my plate there was a generous supply of pork provided. Yes I'd recommend to friends and family. Hot scale runs from 1 to 5 (I said 100) Food was great!!!

The Tom Kah soup was perfectly sweet/sour - one of the best Tom soups I've ever had! The Cashew Nut tofu was savory and delicious. The veggies were cooked beautifully (not overdone) and the tofu was crispy on the outside yet soft on the inside. Add water chestnuts and it would be perfect. Sabrosito! My husband had the Fried Chicken Wings. They looked like Grandma's fried chicken (no one did fried chicken better) and remained crispy and juicy throughout the whole meal. Sauce was served on the side, which helped with the crispness factor. He was very happy with his meal. The hostess/server/cook (she does it all!) was attentive and helpful. And boy, can she cook! Yum! We will definitely be back!

They've got both indoor and outdoor seating, but on a hot day I'd definitely recommend sitting outside because it gets pretty warm inside. Atleast outside on the deck you can get a breeze. The staff was super friendly and welcoming, which always makes a difference. We tried a mix of pizzas. Kids got classic pepperoni & cheese (NY thin style) I got the mushroom pesto (good, flavorful and light) Hubby got a Hawaiian with jalapeños (deep dish style) Loved that they offer different styles depending on what you're craving. I went with three slices, the first was pepperoni slice, the second was the White Girl which had chicken, bacon, and spicy ranch; and I can't remember the name of the third slice. The slices were heated up again in their oven. The pizza slices were just okay, not special, I think it's because it was from the case and I went late at night. I would like to go back and try as freshly baked pizza. The customer service was great, the guy working was very nice. My total for the three slices and a drink, including tax was $12.23. It seems like a cool spot to go hang out.
