Could of used a little more sauce, but still was really good and don't forget the ranch! I didn't know you had to pay extra for the ranch so I had to order one. Food for thought, having 1 included with a meal or order would be nice. Inside was a little hot, but space has plenty of seating! Service was amazing! Definitely coming back!

It had a generous amount of the garlicky fixings and the flavors tasted really emulsified with wings, it wasn't just dumped on some bland fried wings and there were enough to go with a whole bowl of rice if I had some. All the wings were really crispy but the meat wasn't dry, I always compared to Royal Mandarin and I would definitely get my salt and pepper wings from here now instead. I completely demolished these wings but one minor complaint would be I wish I got to tried some flats because I got all drumsticks.

I genuinely don't understand how Scotty B's has 4.4 stars on Yelp. The service was great. Our…read morewaitress was friendly, attentive, and clearly excited about the food. She made us feel like we were in for a treat. Everything is fresh, nothing is microwaved, and by her account this was going to be a whole experience. Unfortunately, the food didn't live up to the sales pitch. Not even close. We started with the IB Twinkies, which are basically bacon-wrapped jalapeño poppers stuffed with cream cheese. They were mid to mediocre at best. Think about the ingredients: Fresh jalapeño, bacon, cream cheese. That's already a winning combination. But there was some kind of ham or other meat stuffed inside that just got in the way. A good jalapeño popper doesn't need much. Give me the fresh crunchy heat of the jalapeño, salty crispy bacon, and cream cheese to mellow everything out. If you're going to make a jalapeño popper, just make a really good jalapeño popper. Next was the Scotty Doesn't Know smash burger. For around $15ish, this thing was SMALL. My friend and I split it and we're talking maybe three or four bites each. The spicy ranch was basically ranch and Tapatío, and the whole burger was just kind of... fine. Smash burgers work because of their simplicity. Crispy beef, cheese, bread, sauce, balance. Once you start complicating that, whatever you're adding better make the burger more interesting. This didn't. I wouldn't pay that price for it again. Sadly, the BBQ Chopped Cheese was the real offender. I don't know what this was, but it wasn't what I think of when someone says "chopped cheese." Instead of chopped hamburger and cheese, the meat had this weird thready pulled-pork or pulled-beef texture. There were large chunks of green bell pepper, an off-putting barbecue flavor, and then the entire thing was slathered in this cheese roux where I swear I could taste the flour. It was basically a pile of pulled meat, peppers and onions covered in floury cheese sauce. I couldn't get past one bite. Our waitress didn't ask us what our thoughts were. Mercifully. And that's ultimately my problem with the food here. If you're going to make classic dishes, make them outstanding. If you're going to play with expectations and reinvent something like a chopped cheese, make sure you've mastered what makes the original good before you start introducing new flavors and textures. The location is cool. It has that beachy, surf-bar vibe, you can see the ocean, and the service was stellar. I take nothing away from the atmosphere and our server. That's honestly what pulled this review up to three stars. But the food? Mediocre to gross and all things in between. And considering the four-and-a-half-star rating and the expectations we walked in with, genuinely disappointing. I don't blame the wait staff, and I don't blame the cooks in the back. I blame management or the owner. If THEY think those dishes are delicious, that's fine. I can't change someone's messed-up taste buds. But I CAN say, as someone who has eaten some of the BEST food San Diego has to offer, it's very easy to recognize what isn't. Fix the food and I'm SO down to give y'all another chance. https://www.youtube.com/@TheFoodSleuths_SD

I decided to tryAnny's Fine Burgers. I ordered a regular burger with lettuce and tomato plus onion the way my Dad likes, oh and pickles too. I decided to get one also prepared the same way. I normally do not eat red meat because I am a chicken, shrimp, and fish lover but on occasion I will make an exception if a restaurant knows how to make good burgers. I ordered for both of us, but I had to quickly eat mine so I could write this review and satisfy my raging appetite . The girl behind the counter was so friendly and helpful. She brought me a plate and my bag of food. I opened the wrapper and my eyes were in awe because this bigger was large in size and looked fresh. I bit down thinking there was no way I could eat it all. But, I did! I devoured it in five minutes! It was fresh, delicious, and juicy! They seasoned it to perfection . So glad they do not overly salt their burgers. I also ordered a homemade lemonade and a side of fries for my Dad to enjoy. I better go now as I need to deliver this deliciousness to my Dad! Oh I almost forgot, they keep the place so clean and I love the music in the background . Drake was playing! This is on my favorite burger list! The space used to house a taco shop that changed names over the past few years. The setup was a bit unusual with parking spaces on different sides adjacent to the car wash. You walked under a covered front patio to reach the main doors that doubled as the entry to the convenience store. A service counter was immediately to the right upon entering. Menu screens hung behind the counter. There was also a screen to the left that featured the breakfast burritos, chilaquile bowl, and drinks. The main offerings were mostly fried fare although I did notice two sandwiches and three salads. I chose a Personal Combo of three chicken tenders, veggie sticks with ranch (my choice) or blue cheese dressing, french fries (my choice) or breadsticks, and a regular size fountain drink (lemonade). The worker (owner?) was pleasant and chatty while frying the food. The tenders were placed inside their own container while the french fries were in a different one. The carrot and celery sticks were provided inside a plastic bag. Both the chicken and fries were crispy from being made fresh. The honey BBQ sauce that I selected for the tenders was heavily slathered. I would have preferred a lighter application if given a choice. The $11.99 price for such a combo was about as expected. I gave a rating between three and four stars for my visit to Crazy Wings N Fries.
