Vancouver Glass has been doing glass work for me for years and have always been great, fair, and with an amazing service. Tonight our store got vandalized by someone throwing a stone at our front door shattering the glass. I called Mike at VG and they had a guy there within the hour to clean up and secure the premises. Excellent service and quality work at a fair price is what I say about Vancouver Glass. Thanks guys!! read more

Highly recommend! Prompt service, and very reasonable price (lower than 2 other quotes) Gino was not only a master old-school glazier, but a warm and funny dog-loving human too. Did an excellent job replacing a thin curved windowpane, w/not a trace left behind + a polished pane. read more

This was my second time using Vancouver Glass. Both times were for small home projects. Rhonda on the front desk helped me both times and was wonderful to deal with. After answering all of my questions, she gave me a price and time frame and was spot on with both. Very happy customer. read more

I oder 3 glass for my three tables and they made only for a weeks ..so fast ! They have great services and make good quality .

We started the process of ordering backsplash and mirrors last November. The communication with Sales takes ages when they respond. We are still not clear on what the price will be. The price has been changing with each communication. Also, we never got itemized price, just the total so we don't know where the price difference of 1000 dollars comes from. The gentleman who came to take measurement was great and very polite. That is the only reason I am giving them two stars. Maybe our project is not big enough for them but they cold say so at least and let us search elsewhere instead of us wasting several months on this. I guess their product is great once you manage to get past their sales wall. read more

Located on the corner of Hastings and Commercial Drive, this is the inexpensive glass installation and replacement business that you go to when someone breaks a window at your house party. Very friendly service, and quick to fill orders. Other services include glass tinting, store front installation, and graffiti removal, which is totally reasonable considering that for over 15 years they've had the same sweet graffiti on the side of their store. It's by Virus, one of Vancouver's most respected spray paint artists, one of the very few who's ever gotten paid for "vandalism" and not thrown in jail. You've probably seen it from the bus a million times, so you might as well go there when you grow up and need to install storm windows to save on your heating bill. read more

Top notch business in every way. Professional, efficiently run, excellent customer service! I brought in a window for glass replacement late Saturday afternoon. They completed the job in about an hour; added new rollers and spacers to the frame as well. Reinstalling the window should have been easy for me, but oddly, this 49 year old window frame wasn't cooperating no matter which way I placed it. I called Mike, the shop owner for help, not realizing it was 5 pm Saturday. They were closing up shop but Mike said he'd swing by to assist. True to his word, he showed up with backup! They had the window back into place in a matter of minutes! Mike is the rare kind of business owner who make people and safety a priority. read more

Fantastic service! Restoring heritage doors is a chore. Stripped paint for 4 days and then... I broke the glass. Many glass stores were not interested in my business as the job was "too small". Everyone, especially Michael, at Vancouver glass was responsive, professional and FAST. They repaired two glass panes in two different doors IN A SINGLE DAY and get this - the total cost was LESS THAN a very reasonable estimate. Quality service all the way! read more

If I could give ZERO star, I will do without a heartbeat. I ordered a piece of glass original was using for counter top like a splash guard. I told one of the staff (maybe the owner) I will need to use silicone to hold the glass with the metal clamp/basket installed at bottom of the glass to the counter top. First they told me about a week to get it done, end up a month. I don't mind waiting. Then I went there pick it up with already wrapped. I opened up, no baskets no clamps, just a piece of glass with 2 big holes. I went back that it supposed to be installed on the glass and I pretty sure I told him when I ordered I will use silicone to glue to counter top. Now he said I have to drill of my counter top to install it. They don't feel a little bit of sorry of their mistake and didn't provide me any solutions to fix the problem. I know it's a small money to them but this kind of bad customer service and they didn't apologize their mistake I do feel angry. Now that piece of $200 glass became a piece of junk and to landfill. If anyone read the positive reviews here and somewhere, please think again. Write down or record the conversation when you order to protect you. Otherwise you probably will make the same mistake like me. I won't recommend Vancouver glass to anyone. If you still decide to try, good luck. read more

I just spoke with someone named Rhonda who, while I probably will not require their services (no fault of theirs, to be clear) I wanted to say that the customer service she provided was on point. That's so rare these days that I'm willing to come on here just to point it out. Top shelf in hearing me out and giving great advice and friendliness etc all amazing quality service. Thanks Rhonda and Vancouver Glass read more

These guys came highly recommended... regardless, the big guy that came to fix our glass door handle at our office on Granville Island was having a bad day. He was standing away from the door (inside the office lobby) looking at his phone. As I was walking in (from outside), I could clearly see that he was working on the door handle. I waved and made eye contact with him and asked if I could come in. He ignored me. Assuming all things were a go, I turned the handled and walked in. "Oh, don't turn that." He said. "You might have just broken it." He was clearly frustrated, and I was totally spellbound at his behaviour. I told him that he didn't answer my question as to whether I could turn the handle and come in. I apologized. He rudely replied, "That's okay, it's not mine anyway." He even asked a staff member if they had "washed their hands", as they were coming out of the washroom. It took him weeks to finish the job, and was consistently rude and awkward to all the staff. None of us could believe it. He made several people in the office feel quite uncomfortable, so I'm glad it wasn't just me. read more

I found them very frustrating to work with. I needed to get a broken glass door panel replaced at my house. I called on a Monday, they told me that they'd have someone come out to measure it that week and they'd call me. When they didn't call me that week I called them the following Monday. They pretty clearly had forgotten about me, but they did get someone else out the next day, to measure it, and they said they'd get me a quote. Waited 2 weeks, no contact (again), so I called them again, and it was pretty clear they had no idea what was going on, didn't recognize my name or address (we'd shared about 3-4 emails, and talked on the phone at least 3 times), and didn't have a quote ready for me, but said they'd be getting one soon, they just had to consult with a manufacturer, and get back to me. Never heard from them again. I dealt with the same person from the start, so they should have known what was going on. I called one of their competitiors who someone referred me to, they had someone out the next day, and new glass in the day after that. Check my reviews if you want to know who that was. Bottom line, go somewhere else for your small homeowner glass repairs. read more

Doing a reno on a "60's era bathroom. The kind with the inset medicine cabinet above the sink. We had two angled walls, and then discovered one of the angled walls is crooked. Vancouver Glass to the rescue! We had wasted way too much time trying to locate a new medicine cabinet that would fit. So we made an executive, grown-up decision to rip out the crappy cabinet and install a large mirror above the sink. We returned many framed mirrors to various stores. Mike, the owner of Vancouver Glass, was patient as I felt near-panic; the tile setter was here and still no mirror or cabinet. After a flurry of phone calls and measuring many times, we placed the final order, which Mike promised by the close of business that day. We now have a fantastic bathroom! Mike the Owner is a cool dude. He gets bonus points for retaining the graffiti mural on the west-facing wall and being a totally cool East Van business owner. We could say, "get your ass over to Van Glass!" - great service and a good product. read more

We had a glass shower stall and bathroom mirror installed. Chris, who came to conduct the estimate was punctual, polite and apparently precise. Today, the job was completed. Chris and his young assistant were punctual and pleasant. Everything fit perfectly, so Chris was precise, indeed. They spent about 4 hours here. You can tell a lot from how people work and speak to each other. They were respectful and polite, it was nice to have these people in our home. The job looks amazing. I would not hesitate recommending this company to anyone. It's nice to see a company like this in our city. Keep up the good work! read more

What a differenec from the last glass experiance I had with a competitor- who drilled a handle into a mirrored door causing almost instant cracking! These folks were quick to come up with a solution before I even made the work order up! And super fast ( received call in two days that the 2 projects were done.) Its one of those places that has been around forever ( apparently 50 years family owned ) and they give you the sense that your project is more than a invoice. it was super easy to load stuff off and park . The gals on the phone that took my info were hilarious.. and one more plus -- open on Saturday so I could wrangle a truck from friends to fit my mirroed door. read more

We bought a beautiful dining room table, and then had our cats decide to jump all over it. So, I started calling around to see how much it would cost to have a piece of glass custom made to fit on the table. Our table is a "boat table" which means it isn't just a square or rectangle - it is rounded on all the edges. Vancouver Glass gave us the cheapest quote (and I called about 10 places in total, all over Vancouver and Richmond), and were extremely helpful, efficient and quick. And, they stuck to their quote. They gave us paper to go home and trace the table, and even gave us some glass cutter thing so we could get the best possible shape. We followed their instructions, and it was done in no time. It fits perfectly. Great service! read more

I phoned these guys to ask what the longest length in a piece of glass I could purchase. I started by saying hi how are you? I was met with a moment of dead air and then a grunt which i think was "good". I waited to be asked how I was but that never happened. I then proceeded to ask my question of what the longest length of glass I could putchase only to be met with rude one word answers like, depends..." i said ok well how about whats the longest in 1/4 inch thickness. I then heard nothing but sighs of frusteration. I asked if they could recommend a thickness for patio glass and was told NO! It was as if the A-hole on the phone was too good to take a moment out of his schedule of being a dick to answer my basic questions. DO NOT WASTE TIME ON THESE GUYS! A side note to VG...if you don't like people then dont answer the fu@#ing phone!! read more

My experience inside this place was extremely unpleasant. This was mainly due to the owner constantly glaring at me from across the showroom while I did some machinery installation work in the back room. And then bitching and whining like a psychopath that he doesn't like the result due to faulty products; and subsequently refusing the opportunity for me to fix it. He then proceeded to tell me to drop everything and get out. It was absolutely not safe to do this, so I did the professional thing and sealed all of the wall panels before exiting out the back door. I was in such a frenzied panic that I thought I'd left behind my very expensive electric screwdriver, which I never forget! These guys are in the repair business but they don't understand how things actually work in the repair industry. I don't get it. I'm not sure about the rest of the people here but I'm pretty sure this guy is the owner because an employee can't be this big of an a-hole. If you love a-holes then go here. read more

I had to order some glass shelves and called around for some quotes, while Vancouver Glass was not the cheapest (price still very reasonable not much higher than the lowest), I still decided to go with Vancouver Glass because of their long years in the business. I'm very glad with this decision because of their service. I ran into some problems with my order (not their fault) and they replaced it free of charge. Great service and they lived up to their great reputation! read more

After a 3 square foot window broke on the weekend I was getting quotes of nearly $500 because of the out of hours service charges which I would not pay. I called Vancouver Glass at 8:15am, they quoted me an absolutely fantastic price to get the replacement done and Dave was at my place in his truck 90 minutes later. Very friendly, outstanding service. Will recommend these guys any time. read more

Sadly I had to drop down my rating for this. They sent over Wayne the other day to look at a building. Wayne was very nice, professional and friendly. One of the tenants wanted a schedule of when the other glass companies were going to come in and measure her unit and I gave her a run down. Wayne must have heard 'cause when I got to the office I had an e-mail from Tom saying that they will not be providing me with a quote for the replacement 'cause they heard me say that I was getting a manufacture to come take measurements and that they would cost more. Fair enough I appreciate the honesty, however, I still needed a formal quote all together. I reached out and thanked him and requested that we would still like the quote, however, never heard back. The conversation wasn't loud and it was in a public space but I didn't think that it was fair or professional to reject giving us a formal quote based on a conversation that took place between myself and a tenant, a semi private conversation. read more

Terrible customer service from the installers to the owner, the are very argumentative, I have never been treated so poorly by any business or business owner. I have used Vancouver glass several times in the past and was always quite happy with the service. Unfortunately though my recent interaction with their head of operations David was less than satisfactory. I was given an estimate over the phone and was told once they did their site measuring the price may change slightly. I approved the estimate and went ahead with the site measure. When the price finally came back it was 50% higher than was estimated originally. When I asked about why there was such adifference David explained that it was purely because we changed the type of glass. I have dealt with enough glass orders that I know the price did not change that much striclty on the change in the glass and when I called David on this he proceeded to say to me "Take or leave it, get a quote from somewhere else." Now I'm not saying that companies should lose money or work for free. But admitting that there was a mistake in the original estimate and apologizing for the discrepancy would have been nice. I will never use Vancouver Glass again purely because of the attitude I got from David. read more
