I went…read moreto RONA because they used to be Canadian (owned by an investment firm out of New York) I visited the store to purchase paint for doors and trim, as I was looking for better quality paint than what I had. A clerk assisted me by showing me three options, and I chose the mid-range paint priced at $48, as it fit my budget. While the paint was being shaken, I noticed a sign advertising 30% off SICO Endurance, which would have been a better-quality paint at a lower price of $42. I asked the clerk if I could switch to the discounted paint, and she called the manager. To my surprise, the manager refused to allow the switch because tint was added to make it white. I ended up purchasing the original paint because I needed it for my project, but I left the store feeling disappointed and frustrated. This experience has made me reconsider where I shop for my renovation needs. When I got home I sent in a complaint and they offered me 10% off my next purchase. I felt it to be an insult. So I phoned customer service, they offered me a $10 gift card. That at least brought the cost down to the sale price. But I'm still stuck with crappy paint. You would think customer service would be more of a priority during these tense political and economic times.

This is by far the worst shopping experience I have ever had in my entire life. I arrived at the…read morestore to purchase a few items that were out of stock at the East Vancouver store as well as a few items I previously forgot to pick up well everything was fine until I went to pay and asked where the Amazon Bling security cameras were and they said they don't carry them which they do. Anyway it was just before closing I requested the 2 items from the older man whom I thought was there to help me when he suddenly just leaves and comes back 5 mins later saying that it's 9:01pm and store is closed so I must leave. I asked if I could at least pay for my other items and he said yeah hurry up then tells me that I can't afford anything anyway at this point I was literally in tears. All I wanted was the two security cameras that he said he was going to get the key to open up the locked area they are kept in but then someone decided I was not good enough to buy them. If I didn't absolutely need the other items I would have just left. I explained in a very kind manner that I had taken a $60 taxi ride to the store and couldn't return again the following day he didn't care. Now the final straw was when the same man who refused to tell me his name and had no name tag decided that while I was paying he was going to start looking in my purse that I had on my shoulder because as he said he knew I stole something which I did not & no apology was given when he saw I took nothing. He did look quite surprised when the cashier gave me my receipt and told me my balance was $347 on my gift card and the other remaining gift card had a balance of $498 remaining. I will definitely be selling both gift cards. I am only returning tomorrow morning because the cashier also failed to remove the 3 security tags on the men's work pants I bought for my son. It's sad that all Rona stores seems to be run by such horrible people. Home Depot will get all my remaining business going forward Thanks for a truly horrible experience Rona and a corporate store at that

Phoning the store doesn't connect to a human. National customer service say they can't reach the store. Their solution is to try to call the delivery company on what will be the third day. How can a company in the modern age lose an order and have no idea how to find it?!?! TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!

Over the 8 months from when we first approached them about the renovation until when they FINALLY got everything they had committed to "complete", it was an absolute nightmare. We first approached their "kitchen designer" in September 2024 and gave her our maximum budget that she promised she could easily stick to. The first couple of months until handed over the initial money was great, she guided us to take a certain type of cabinet and counter top to fit our budget constraints. She was very helpful and friendly. She advised me to apply for a Home Depot credit card and pay on that because there was 2 - 3 years of 0% Interest on it) As soon as money changed hands, her whole attitude changed. Her responses became few and far between and when she did reply, it was often hostile and blaming us for her mistakes. The cabinets arrived and nobody showed up to install them. We tried calling and emailing with no replies. When she finally replied, she had "forgotten" to book the installation... And then told us that she had also forgotten to charge us for it. She charged us for PREMIUM installation, when that included things we didn't need. When we challenged this to ask why we didn't get STANDARD installation, that was repeatedly ignored. On installation, the installer pointed out that multiple things had been mis-measured, meaning that there were HUGE void spaces that would be wasted behind cabinets and could have been used for more cabinet space and to make doors wider, etc... Also, the space left for the fridge was the exact measurements of the fridge, meaning that the fridge actually wouldn't open if it was pushed in all the way (because the door couldn't move). Any attempts to relay this to the "designer" were answered with "well YOU signed off on the design" ZERO ACCOUNTABILITY. The installer, Kostya, was SO amazing and professional and made cuts and adjustments to make what he had been provided with work. He then pointed out that because the "design" involved pushing cabinets back (rather than increasing the depth as the "designer" said she would do) that there would be a large area of the kitchen where there was no flooring, meaning that we had to get a patch refloored. Finally he pointed out that there was an entire cabinet missing! Again, the "designer" blamed us, saying we had missed it when we signed off on the order. She ordered it and outrageously told us "You have to wait another few weeks for the cabinet to be made and delivered but I have managed to get you a discount on the cabinet to make up for the trouble" and still charged us for HER mistake! She also hadn't ordered cabinet handles. When we queried this, she told us that we hadn't picked or paid for handles (even though my wife clearly picked handles in the in person meeting!) Despite being told the contrary, the repair and painting of the backsplash was not included in the installation, so we had to get another contractor to do this. The "designer" did not include disconnect and reconnect of gas stovetop so we had to get another contractor to do that. When we contacted the countertop company, they informed us that the Home Depot "designer" had not sent any order information to them, so we had to arrange this all ourselves. They also informed us that there would be a $500 fee for using the current sink (and that Home Depot should have told us this - which they definitely did not) They also gave a quote of more than double what the Home Depot "designer" had quoted, so we had to pick their cheaper countertop stone to try to lower the price. Suddenly I got messages from the Home Depot credit card company stating that my interest free period was coming to an end. When I called Citibank, the credit card company, I was told that 12 - 36 months of interest free credit is not something they offer. When I contacted the "designer" about this, she again did not take any accountability. After we got the countertop installed, the stove top did not fit in the gap because the Home Depot "designer" had not accounted for the fact that the new countertop was 1 inch thinner and so we had to ask the installer to come back and manually adjust the oven cabinet to lower the bottom of it so that the stove top (just) fit in. In total, the cost came to over 1.6 x our original budget, forcing us to go thousands of dollars into debt to be able to pay for it. At NO point did we get an apology from the "designer"... Quite the opposite, we got gaslighted and blamed for her mistakes.
