She also performed an off-menu facial, doing deep extractions without my consent, which caused pain, ruptured capillaries, and skin damage. My eyebrow lamination was ruined. When I asked Jiya why facials were not listed on their website, she said they "do not offer it to everyone" -- essentially admitting this service is outside the scope of their licensing with Fraser Health. During the appointment, Jiya spent 20 minutes complaining about her personal breakup, saying her boyfriend ended their two-year relationship because she is Hindu, he is Sikh, and his mother refused the marriage -- completely unprofessional and irrelevant. The next day, I returned to request a refund. Staff acknowledged my damaged skin, took photos, and contacted the owner. I sent the photos, but the owner never called back and is now refusing all communication. My face is still sore from the damage. This business is unsafe, unskilled, and dishonest.

Their new studio on Burlington is absolutely gorgeous. It's spacious, girly, and cozy. On top of lash services, they offer brow and nail services as well. I've been seeing Jess since day 1 and she is fantastic. I always do a volume set and since I've been seeing her for so long now, she knows the length, style, and amount of volume that I like to a tee. I've never been disappointed by a set from her. My lashes usually last 3-4 weeks (sometimes 5 weeks) before I need to get a fill, which says a lot because in the past my lashes never lasted more than 2 weeks from other studios. One of my favourite things about Meraki (besides walking away with gorgeous fluffy lashes) is the family atmosphere. All the technicians are so talented, friendly, and funny. There is always good music playing in the background, which is a plus when you're laying there for 2 hours. I genuinely enjoy coming to get my lashes done because I find it extremely therapeutic. I mean, you get good music, great conversation, fluffy lashes, and potentially a nap while you're there? Win win, in my opinion. I have been to 3 other different nail salons since visiting, 2 in LA and 1 in Richmond and I have to say Blue Moon gave me the best gel nails that lasts and looks the most "natural". The other places were so mediocre that I don't even feel like yelping about it. IMO, gel nails are a great option if you don't like your nails getting chipped or your nail colors wearing out. I think it's also good for hands with small nails or when you want to "elongate" your nail length. Some say it's not good because it's hard to grow out and you have to keep getting it filled. Since I was happy with their gel nails, I also tried other services offered here. Eye lash - I tried the semi-permanent eyelash extension for my birthday and that was my first time as well. I did get many compliments on my pretty eye lashes as they were very natural. I so wished I had long lashes like that every day for the rest of my life. For the work to maintain the eyelashes and not get water in my eyes in the beginning, I may not try it anytime soon without the special occasions. The lady was experienced and I didn't experience any pain and I like how she does each lash by each lash instead of the whole row of fake eyelash when we put on our own lashes. Eye brow - I am happy with their eye brow waxing service as welland have gone back many times. I used to try threading for my eye brows and I am now switching to waxing because waxing definitely lasts longer. This place is easy for me to book and in a convenient location.
