As someone that is quite active and doesn't do makeup except for formal events, I was hesitant about the microblading procedure. I've seen your typical permanent eyebrows, and was absolutely terrified of a similar outcome. Also, I don't have a single tattoo; the idea of blades/needles that close to my face is somewhat unnerving. Microblading appealed to me because of its natural result and because it is semi-permanent (just in case things didn't work out!). That being said, the service is pleasantly surprising as it came through on its promise of natural, fuller eyebrows (something that, as most Asian women can understand, is somewhat of a dream unless you can afford both eyebrow products and the time to apply the product). Additionally, Brenda is a wonderful technician. She's accommodating in terms of appointment times and comfort level, and most importantly, she listens to you when you tell her what you want (which, for me, was very vague because I am so inexperienced with the world of makeup/beauty/etc.). Yes, the service requires a certain amount of trust; in my case, a lot of trust. I walked in, told Brenda that I wanted even, fuller, more defined brows, because I was sick of looking younger/being treated as a kid just because I don't wear makeup on a daily basis (unfortunately, natural makeup has become a bit of a professionalism standard). That, and also because whenever I tried to get my eyebrows done (waxed/threaded/whatever), I basically looked the same as when I came in. I didn't bring any pictures, nor did I have any brow makeup on, so I commend Brenda on how much work she did with so little direction from yours truly. She took a few pictures, explained very thoroughly the process, and went to work. I honestly could not explain her entire process in how she FOUND my eyebrows, but she did so with some fancy looking tools, feeling my brow bone and outlining the shape with tape before starting the actual tattoo. The procedure itself was fine. I like to think I have a relatively high pain tolerance, and so the first couple of minutes were completely fine. Brenda was very calm throughout the procedure, very friendly while she explained everything she was doing; the conversation flowed with ease. The only alarming thing was the sound of the microblade which (being so close to your ears) was a soft scratching sound. However, I got used to it after a few minutes. After about 10 or so minutes, I could start to feel the strokes, but again, it was bearable (imagine a sharp finger nail being dragged across the skin). It was a bit uncomfortable, but only lasted about 5 minutes. That's correct! The actual tattoo was super short (I can't remember the time exactly; I think it was about 15 minutes). Aftercare is very easy because Brenda hands out a special kind of ointment and a page of instructions. She also replies to messages VERY quickly, and so when I was freaking out about minor flaking, I sent her pictures and she reassured me that everything was normal. I recently went in for my touch-up, and didn't end up getting any more work done because I healed so well. Of course, this is going to be different for everyone, but I was very diligent with the aftercare rules: that and luck is how I came out with such great results! Be forewarned that for the 10 days after the procedure, you'll have very dark brows and that they'll most likely be shiny (because of the ointment that you apply to them). It's a small sacrifice for 1-3 years of beautiful brows! I'm so happy with the results, and could not have imagined a better outcome from this leap of faith. I get constant compliments about my eyebrows, and people are always, very surprised IF I tell them that I don't have any makeup on. I'm sure that if you fill in your brows on a daily basis, you'll save a ton of time in the morning. My schedule hasn't changed, but I do look more awake and sharper as soon as I get up, which is wonderful for work/school/anything really. I have been debating to write this review for a while. I was originally very excited to get my brows done by Brenda because of the glowing reviews on yelp. However I was sorely disappointed in my experience and what pushed me to write this review was a recent unethical pricing change stated on her website which I will go into further detail on. First off with the review: When I arrived at her house she was quick to start - no fuss or frills sort of thing and started off with getting me to sign papers and asked me what I want. I explained as best I could and showed her pictures. She said she fully understood. Then went on to measuring the brows. Once measured she quickly handed me a hand held mirror and asked me if its ok. Note that the brows were NOT filled in so to the average person it is hard to tell what sort of shape they will look like. I have gone to other brow places with friends getting them done where the technician spends time and effort on drawing the brows, analyzing the face structure and making sure its to your liking BEFORE starting the microblading. Anyways I was quite trusting of her due to all the positive reviews and said that it was ok and as long as it turns out close to what I requested/ the pictures I showed I am happy. I was given the handheld mirror again once brows were completed and then she asked if I liked them. To be honest I was not analyzing them carefully and nodded my head slightly without verbally saying anything. She then moved on to after care instructions and quickly had me out the door in no time. All in all the process felt RUSHED. Her website states that she will spend 1.5 to 2 hours with each client. I was in and out in 30 minutes. After getting in my car I looked in the mirror and realized that the brows were NOT EVEN CLOSE to what I requested. Plus some areas that did not look filled in at all. Needless to say I was devastated but did not have the courage to ring her home doorbell again to say something. For the prices she is charging + the fact that it is a home studio + how little experience she has, I was not happy. ON TO THE RECENT UNETHICAL PRICING - A friend of mine asked where I got my brows done so I shared that information. She went onto her website and found out that there is a "promo price" of $570 for April/May. I paid far less than that not too long ago. I don't think it is ethical to drastically raise your prices and then claim it is a "PROMO PRICE" for this month. That is FALSE ADVERTISING!!! Goes to show that sometimes reviews online aren't reflective of everyone's experience because my experience seems to be vastly different from the others here. I am not sure why I waited so long to get my eyebrows done. It's been about 9 months and not a day goes by where I do not look at them and smile. I was VERY nervous. I had done plenty of research and was somewhat confident in my selection, but reached out with a couple questions. At first I was a bit apprehensive to just book the appointment as opposed to a consultation - but in the end, went ahead and did it. The studio appeared very clean and professional. Brenda was warm and welcoming. The procedure itself: I have VERY fair, sensitive skin. And apparently, am a bleeder (just being honest, for the people who haven't done this before). It turns out, I am not a good candidate for microblading - but fortunately, Brenda also does nanoblading. She switched procedures and carried on. The first appointment was mildly uncomfortable, as far as the pain went. Not as bad as I thought it would be. They healing was about the same. It took me 2 weeks to heal. Longer than I hoped, but again, super sensitive skin! The touch up about 6 weeks later was way more painful. Stands to reason, since really, under the surface, I was still healing. It hurt, not going to lie. BUT, it was so worth it. I will definitely keep it up. 9 months later, they still look great. They aren't perfect, but no eyebrows are (and body chemistry for course comes into play). I get compliments constantly. I'm very satisfied and recommend Brenda wholeheartedly. read more

I was super excited to get an appointment with Brenda to have my eyebrows done. I have slightly uneven eyebrows, and I had to "fix" them every morning to make it not as noticeable. I have fine hair, so if I don't fill my eyebrows in, it will look like I don't have any at all! So yes, eyebrows are what I spend the most time on in the morning, and it just became a nuisance since I'm not the greatest with make-up either. After seeing other clients' "after" photos, I set my mind on getting my eyebrows fixed once in for all! Brenda replied really quickly to my inquiry, and had me set up for an appointment. She also took the time to answer a few of my questions. When I got to her house, I was greeted by Brenda and her super friendly and energetic dog. Brenda was incredibly easy to talk to, and time flew by. I would like to say I have a pretty good pain tolerance, so the procedure was not painful at all. She applied numbing cream so that helped out greatly. It simply felt like scratches on the eyebrows area. On parts where you do feel the needle strokes, pain level would be comparable to little mini paper cuts. That sounds unnerving, but trust me it's not! After the procedure, Brenda presented me with aftercare instructions and a tube of ointment to apply on my new eyebrows. Currently, I am in the "sharpie eyebrows" stage, as she would call it, but I am excited to see the end results in a week or two! :D read more

I came to Canada on a long-term nanny assignment with an American family from Los Angeles. I had been looking in to the idea of getting my eyebrows micro bladed for some time, as I am a t-shirt and jeans type of outdoorsy gal, but like to have groomed and filled brows at all times, to frame the rest of my features. Lets be honest, when you're out camping or backpacking or hanging at the beach, its a little strange to pull out a mirror for makeup. My own brows are blondish, and sparse (or at least sparse looking in the blonder areas), so it made perfect sense to have a semi permanent solution, thus making my suitcases less heavy, and my morning routine a synch! Brenda has made my eyebrow experience amazing, and she can do the same for you! I was nervous at first, just contemplating the idea of getting my eyebrows done, because lets face it, its on your face, and if something went wrong...well im sure we all can imagine how we would feel. So I set out on a search to find an artist that had specific styles I liked. After finding Brenda, and reading great reviews, and liking her artistic style I decided to get my eyebrows done with her. Upon arriving to her place I was slightly nervous, but she reassured me that everything would go great, she explained the whole procedure for me, and asked what style eyebrow I was going for. After a bit of sketching, and touching up to my preference the tattooing began. She walked me through every step she was about to do, and described what I should feel. I normally don't take the time to write up reviews, but I am honored to write one for Brenda because I truly believe I will have positive results. I have never done any cosmetic tattoos on my face, so I've done a fair amount of IG portfolio stalking. When I scoped out Brenda's pictures, I found that her style was a good fit for me, very natural. I highly recommend looking through her portfolio to get ideas for yourself. Brenda is very intelligent. If you observe carefully, you will notice that Brenda is very capable of reading people, especially your style and thus, is able to create eyebrows that are truly you. Brenda is very honest with the procedure. She'll give you all the necessary information so you can know what to expect. In example, she explicitly alerted me that the numbing cream will wear off and there would be pain but she checked in every time she noticed my reaction. This is day 3 for me and I can say that I am very pleased with the shape and procedure. I am anxious to see the healed results in a week from now. I am so glad I found Brenda to do my brows! Before I saw her work on Facebook, I've done many researches elsewhere. However, none of the other options catered to what I was looking for. At first, I was really hesitant at the idea of microblading because 1) The thought of pain scares me and 2) I prefer my eyebrows more straighter than the usual. I had a great experience with Brenda. She is very talented and she knows exactly what she's doing. I did not even have to tell her what kind of brows I wanted or needed (personally, I didn't know what kind of brows suits me best), she created the perfect shaped and perfect colored brows that matches my face shape and hair color. I love my new brows! In the past when I did my brows elsewhere, I had a bad experience with the healing process. My skin didn't react too well and didn't hold the color either. I lost all the color within a few months. It has been about 10 days since I did my follow up session with Brenda, my skin has pretty much healed perfectly, no reactions at all and I'm very happy with the results! Quite a few years back I had nice thick eyebrows and in more recent years, those eyebrows became sparse and thin. I wanted my thick eyebrows back and I was tired of filling in my eyebrows everyday and having bad eyebrow days. I came across one of B for Brows' videos on Facebook and I was convinced this was a possible option for me. I have Brenda at B for Brows to thank for my full natural looking eyebrows. I literally do not do anything to my eyebrows anymore which is great for busy lifestyles and even avid travelers like myself. This review is long over due but I had an initial appointment as well as a touch-up done by Brenda in August and Sept. I chose her because upon researching I liked her general style of eyebrow she did. Her little home studio is clean and well equipped but don't expect a fancy office. She makes conversation easy so time flies by. I've never had any tattooing done in my life so pain level was 3/5 for me but obviously that is subjective. Remember to trust the process and eyebrows will be super dark for the first few days but follow the care instructions for better results. In the long run, the colour may fade but remember to apply SPF lotion on your face or the sun might discolour. Overall, I'd highly recommend Brenda! read more

After having to fill in my brows every day for the past few years, I decided it was time to have my brows microbladed.
