They are also helpful as you pick out frames and even let me take photos in glasses that are really wild for me to scare my wife with. Dr. Unterbrink is a great doctor. He really takes time to make sure the testing being done is thorough and answers any questions you have. He is also really funny and it makes the visit really pleasant. Had a filling that fell out, the dark hair lady couldn't answer a straight question if her life depended on it. She said she would ask Blanford and call back (she did not call) over a week later while in the office the price went from 400-500 to 817.00. When I asked how long this one would be good for, she said they don't guarantee anything. I said what about 2 weeks, she said well if it was only 2 weeks "of coarse they could fix it". She is Fake nice. When confronted with legitimate concerns she becomes extremely argumentative. When I called and asked for a office manager she put me on hold for more than 8 minutes, I hung up and called back the phone would not ring through for another 10 minutes. Finally got her on the phone again she said they don't have an office manager and refused to communicate my concerns to Blanford. This is the treatment we got after several years of loyalty even after Blanford was unavailable and we went back to him.

This has been especially the case since i have been taking medication for at least six months that requires i have monthly blood work until i am off it. My previous experiences with blood work and/or other medical analysis have been with Quest Diagnostic Centers when i lived in Miami. It was a chain of diagnostic centers where their level of service greatly differed based on which one you went to and even sometimes what day you went/who was attending you. You may get someone friendly, or someone surly. Sometimes you had a great experience... others a terrible one... and the wait times were ridiculously long. Van Wert Health, on the other hand, is completely different. I have not had a single bad experience with them. Everyone on the staff is friendly and courteous. Longest wait time i had was 20 minutes... and that was one time... usually i check in and i am immediately called. If you need lab work done in the area, definitely come here!

I have been coming to Pajka Eye Center since 2021. I first went there because my mother had…read morecataracts and she needed to have that surgery. She had one surgery for one of the eyes, and needed me to take her to the appointments. While there I got to know about this surgery center and decided to finally look into Lasik surgery. My vision has been steadily getting worse as the years went by to the point I just couldn't see almost anything without glasses. Whenever i would misplace them, it would take me up to an hour sometimes to find them because i just couldn't see... i had to get super up close to see them. I have been putting off doing Lasik for years, partly because I was a bit of a chicken. I was always worried they would screw it up and I would end up blind. Ever see that old Twilight Zone episode, Time Enough At Last? It freaked me out when I first saw it years ago. The fear of eventually not being able to see and enjoy the things I love drove me to get the surgery. And the moment I decided I needed to correct my vision came in a trip in 2021, where I went to a hotel pool, having extreme difficulty seeing anything while I was in the pool and then for a while that I couldn't find my glasses for a while... made me realize I needed to fix this problem once and for all. So i went through their tests and was told 1) I was blind as a bat and 2) I was a candidate for Lasik. After a few check ups as I needed to get my eyes ready for the surgery as they were too dry, needing months of daily eye drops. The day of the surgery came. A friend of mine took me to the eye center for the surgery, and i went in. I signed some paperwork, given some pills and some eye drops to numb my eyes I gotta say, Lasik surgery feels weird. You do feel them working on the eye as your conscious and it doesn't hurt most of the time. Except the left eye which I was told it always does. The surgery didn't take long... think it was an hour. I wish i could say that I faced this without fear, but no. I did hold the hand of one of the nurses the whole time... especially during the left eye. Super thankful to that nurse. I went home and slept the rest of the day and really did a lot of sleeping that weekend. I had to wear sunglasses for several weeks, have 4 different types of eye drops to use for the next month and had to sleep with goggles on. My vision got progressively better and one week after my surgery I had 20/15 vision. Not sure what I have now as I have to go soon for another check up. Its amazing to be able to see without glasses on... even the colors are more vivid and vibrant. I am incredibly thankful for Dr. Pajka and his staff. My life is so much better since the surgery. They are very professional, caring and wonderful. If you are in Van Wert and Lima and need eye surgery, go see Dr. Pajka!

This is not a review about the doctor (The doctor is great) this is a review for the ladies at the front desk. So i had to find a doctor quick... just in case. I remember looking up reviews on both google and yelp for reviews for doctors in town... and even in nearby Lima and Delphos. This is by the way not very helpful as there is a dearth of reviews for medical professionals it seems. I don't remember exactly why i chose Van Wert Family Physicians, but i called in to the office and asked to become a new patient. I was directed to fill out some paperwork online. I did so. Now there are a number of doctors who work there, i asked to be seen by Dr. Kristen Pollock, who my mother was already using. Super happy i did. She is awesome! Great doc... caring, honest. The visits i had during the pandemic were all virtual, it wasn't until a year later i got to meet and have a full check up with her but it was a crazy 2020. Honestly, i don't think i have had such a good doctor since my pediatrician back before i became an adult. Maybe i am just used to things being different in Miami, Florida where i am originally from. Health care there... sucks. Your a number, nothing more. Even when you are seeing someone who cares, they are incredibly busy and overworked. They only have so much time for you. Dr. Pollock takes time to make sure you are healthy and stay healthy. The staff is wonderful overall. Its never difficult to get a hold of someone to make an appointment nor to talk to the nurse if i have some issue. And talking about times, unlike Miami... you see your doc at your scheduled appointment time.. no waiting hours to see one. Van Wert Family Physicians also is where i got my covid shots... happy to have gotten them! Just love the level of care this place gives! If you are looking for a good primary care/family doc! Come here!
