There are not enough great things I can say about The Homestead B&B. We had our wedding there in…read moreearly August. The grounds for the event (it was all outdoors) were exquisitely maintained and beautiful to the point that all of our guests couldn't stop commenting to us on what a wonderful venue it was. Between the hedge maze and patio where the ceremony was, to the front lawn for cocktails, to the dining and dancing area, it was all perfectly setup, clean, and very well maintained. They also have a fire-pit that we enjoyed once the party died down as it was a nice area to relax and unwind while keeping the evening chill away. The proprietors were at the top of their game coordinating everything, making sure guests were taken care of, and many other things that my wife and I were not even aware of until much later. We stayed the night there along with close family (rented the entire house) and breakfast in the morning was just as perfect the the day before. Delicious quiche, banana bread, and yogurt parfait on the outdoor patio. The rooms are beautiful and the beds are wonderful to sleep in. Whether you want to stay here for an evening or use it as a venue for a wedding or similar function, I highly recommend The Homestead.

Cloth towels are used for hand drying at the bathroom & they were all used up before the event was over. A puny breakfast display was put out with room temp water & tasteless coffee. Lunch was nothing great either. Luke warm soup - about 1/4 cup-served. I ordered a sandwich that came with about 5 chips on the side. Nothing great about this place, but Im sure in Plano area options are limited. The owners just need to step it up.

We had a great stay at Inn at Water's Edge! We stayed 2 nights with our two children (ages 6 &…read more1,5). We stayed in a room with a king bed, a (comfy) rollaway bed and a pack & play. It was all arranged nicely and the view from the room was fantastic! The entire hotel only has 6 rooms so it was extremely nice and quiet. Check-in was easy and staff was nice. Breakfast was either brought to your room or eaten in the lounge. It was ordered the day before and brought to you in the morning, very nice. Our older daughter thought it was "fancy" and wants to come back. It was an extremely pleasant stay and we will be back!

Both a wonderful place to stay and a great deal. We first stayed there in 2014 when my wife booked…read moreall the rooms for my 60th birthday. We were able to gather in the lounge and go at our own pace. We stay here every time we return to the area. The rooms (recently updated) have always been big, very well appointed and pristine. It's incredibly quiet and parking is right there and always available. The best part is the incredibly friendly and helpful staff. The last time we came, they took great pains to help us get a (very hard) reservation at the student-run restaurant in the same building. They are also very knowledgeable about the area. The really good breakfasts are served at whatever time you want, either directly to your room or in the very nice lounge right next to the rooms. Why stay at a much more expensive and impersonal hotel when you can have a relaxed and quiet visit and save a bunch of money at the same time?

Here's a quick rundown of the good and bad. The good was the checkin was quick and the desk agent friendly. Room was spacious and clean with lots of room. I particularly liked the kitchen with fridge and microwave. Bed was really comfy and nice. Loved the TV and selection of channels. Also, the hotel is walking distance to BP gas station with mini-mart (which comes in handy for soda, snacks and quick meals). Wendy's is also in walking distance, behind hotel. Now the bad ... the room itself smelled of mold. Mind you, this is a new hotel but it had a bad mold smell. I also spotted mold on the tissue box. Upon touching, it was wet. Was there a leak at some point? Finally, I seriously believe the hotel may be haunted. I've never written this in a review but am now. Throughout the night, my bedroom door mysteriously opened (even after closing to the sound of a "click"). I also heard the sounds of rattling chains and howls. These WERE NOT from dogs or other pets. I was in a corner suite with no neighbor. This hotel is located next to a well known haunted cemetery (it's behind the Dunk'n Donuts across the street from this property). I would stay here again but I'm not sure how excited I would be given the spookiness factor

Many hotels have cold or pretty cool pools which is a problem in the winter months. This pool is nice and warm. Kids just loved playing in it. I stayed in a two queen bed suite. Very spacious with a galley style kitchen. It was perfect for what I needed. The dining table was perfect for us to have dinner at. The best part about this stay was the front desk receptionist. I checked in on Thanksgiving night so most restaurants were closed. She called around and found a pizza place that was opened. Thank you for saving us from having to have another meal at the Golden Arches.

Told the gentleman about the previous hotel and how loud the elevator was. He kindly gave us the furthest room available. Only reason I could not give it a 5star. They had the option to pick that on the website! Checking in was a breeze. Early check in was also notified to us the day prior and on the drive there. My husband made a call to them asking if we can have two rooms connected and they were very accommodating. They didn't promise but they delivered. Customer service was very satisfactory. We not only were able to have connected rooms for our family, they placed us in a corner of the hotel away from other patrons. That was very thoughtful of them. Rooms were very roomy and clean. Beds were extra comfortable. Bathrooms were very nice. The double Queen room was bigger than our king size room. Free breakfast is served!! Wow I find that a total rarity these days. We didn't get to enjoy a free breakfast since we went to a nearby IHOP but next time we will. My kids LOVED the pool. Excellent size and there was a hot tub. The water temp for both was great! We were able to swim very late (10:00pm) and woke up early to swim again (8:00am). Overall it was a wonderful weekend stay. No hassles and very pleasant. I'm very pleased we picked this hotel rather than any other in Morris, Illinois. It makes me want to research and try Holiday Inn in other cities.
