Falsified billing practices. I pointed out to the administrator who did not respond nor change the bill.

When I asked when I could have another appointment they told me 4 weeks from now, which I considered outrageous. When I let them know how I NEED this procedure done, then they gave me an appointment for the week after. Dr. Hartshorn, is amazing otherwise, he takes the time to listen, and give you options. They have snacks, coffee, and the office is super clean. The staff is super friendly. I just feel like, as someone who can barely put any weight on her foot, and then pain is so bad that I can't sleep, that this is not considered urgent and therefore it gets canceled.

The pain was excruciating, and continued to get worse over time. One of my colleagues who was seriously injured in a surfing incident a year earlier, that basically destroyed his shoulder (broken bones etc) had been treated by Dr. Tim Hartshorn, and recovered completely recommended that I go see him. I did, and I IMMEDIATELY knew I was in the right place, with the right doctor. Ultimately, I required surgery to repair my shoulder, but prior to actually scheduling surgery, I needed to finish out the work season on light duty. Dr. Hartshorn gave me direct steroid injections to the shoulder joint over the course of the next few months to get me through the rest of that season. At the end of the season, I went in for surgery in the morning, and was back home that afternoon. Almost immediately, Dr. Hartshorn had me on a physical therapy routine that got me moving my newly repaired shoulder in short order. Over the course of the next several weeks, the pain subsided, my range of motion returned as I continued physical therapy, and in less than 3 months, I was back at work with no restrictions. What you need to understand is that prior to seeing Dr. Hartshorn, I could not even hold a coffee cup in my left hand without serious pain. The act of threading a belt through my pant loops required assistance from my wife. Sleeping was nearly impossible and I was a wreck due to lack of sleep. Surgery takes time to fully heal from, and I knew that going in. It also takes commitment by you, to do the exercises, and range of motion stretches prescribed by your physical therapist or doctor. If you don't do that, you will not recover completely. I knew that going in as well. Dr. Hartshorn made sure I knew that this was not going to be easy, or fun, but it (the PT and stretchers) was absolutely necessary for fast recovery and the best possible outcome. Without question or reservation of any kind, I can absolutely say that if you are reading this because you have injured your shoulder, and are at the point where a solution other than you just "roughing it out" is necessary, and you have found Dr. Tim Hartshorn, Your are one fortunate individual. It is my belief that you will NOT find a better physician, surgeon or human being than Dr. Tim Hartshorn. Congratulations, and rest easy. You are in the right place. For those wondering why, 2+ years later I might be here writing a review for Dr. Hartshorn, it is really simple. I have since injured my other shoulder, and have been in the care of a doctor who was prescribed by workers comp out here in California. I am miserable, I require surgery and I decided to reach out to Dr. Hartshorn to see if he would be willing to look at my MRI and perhaps give me a recommendation for surgeons he personally knows and would comfortably recommend out here in Cali. Well, being the rock star that he is, as I mentioned in my first paragraph, Dr. Hartshorn called me directly himself. Not his staff, or some mouth piece like I would have expected to hear from out here, but he himself. I was actually not surprised to be honest, because that is the kind of doctor Tim Hartshorn is. Like I said Boston, consider yourselves VERY fortunate to have this guy in your wheel house. It does not get any better than him. I wish you well on your treatment and recovery, but have no doubt that you will be just fine. THANK YOU Dr. Hartshorn. THANK YOU.

I've visited the facility on two different occasions because it was close to where I live. Since…read morethe injury was in my shoulder, I didn't want to drive far. The owner, at least at the time was awesome. His name is Kip. However he phased out and said basically he would hardly ever be there which was true. Unfortunately he put the practice in the hands of a young girl who regularly pretty much ignored the female patients and flirted with the male patients. She actually told me that since I was already familiar with the exercises I needed to do that I should just get heat and cold treatment there, but should "Go home" to do all the stretches and exercises and weights! The reason your doctor sends you to PT is to be worked on and helped by the physical therapist! I purposely used someone else when I went there after that, but the atmosphere was unprofessional. I think Kip needed somebody to count on so he could leave the business, but he really had no clue what was going on when he wasn't present. I will not be going back.

The…read moredoctor had an emergency surgery which is entirely understandable being in this field, however that is where the office's customer service and lack of ability to sensitively address patients became ALARMINGLY obvious. After being out of work for months due to an injury (my mom was in EMS for 8 years and is a personal trainer/fitness instructor for 10+), she has been dealing with the injury and getting her care at this doctor's office, but do hope she will not go back. After arriving to the doctor's office, my mom was told her appointment had been cancelled due to the doctor's emergency surgery, but did not receive a call to notify her of this. A large and heavy set Spanish woman who's name we could not recall proceeded to be extremely rude to my mom. The office admitted to not calling my mom to notify her and agreed to try and fit her in due to the long drive. After stepping outside to square things away with insurance as there were issues with it when she arrived, and I imagine this may happen at most doctors offices at a daily basis, my mom was told, "I don't think this will work out today." That is a lack of customer service and bedside manner. If you do not want to be treated like this, do not go to this provider.

My fears were all completely misplaced by Charles River Counseling. Jen, the receptionist, is super sweet and upbeat. She is always willing to help and go the extra mile to help clients feel comfortable. I really think that how you are treated by the office staff makes a huge difference in how an office is viewed. Pamela Bourque, the therapist that I chose, is a great listener, and offers a different perspective on issues that are extremely helpful. She is open-minded to alternative lifestyles, and really seems to hear me and want to support me to help me work through my (rather complex) issues. They also offer Doctors to help with psych meds management services, which is also a big bonus for me. Overall, I am really pleased that I have found Charles River Counseling Center.
