I provided my medical notes, imaging, and medical history for the doctor to review, and explained how frustrating it has been to live with ongoing pain that nobody seems able to diagnose. After reviewing my records, he referred me to physical therapy for the second time and sent me on my way. He did not perform a physical examination, and the appointment lasted less than 10 minutes. I paid a $50 copay for an appointment that left me feeling as though my concerns had not been taken seriously. After completing six physical therapy sessions without improvement, I reached back out, hoping for further investigation or a discussion of what to do next. Instead, I was told to return to physiatry, which is where I had started in the first place. When I asked why I was being referred back to physiatry, I was given no meaningful explanation beyond being told that the doctor had been recommended because his background is in physiatry. This did not answer my question or explain how returning to the same type of specialist would help move forward with a proper diagnosis. The entire experience felt dismissive. I came to this clinic hoping for a thorough evaluation and a fresh perspective after years of trying to find answers. Instead, I felt rushed, unheard, and left without a clear plan. After years of chronic pain, I was hoping for a provider who would take the time to listen, perform an appropriate examination, and investigate possible causes rather than simply send me back to where I started. Patients deserve to feel that their concerns are taken seriously, especially when they have spent years searching for answers.

Dr Hummel diagnosed me with Complex Regional Pain Syndrome to the right side of my neck, my right shoulder, arm and hand. Dr Hummel has been working with me with pain management and I am so glad I was referred to see Dr Hummel. I was in a lot of pain, Dr Hummel has helped me manage my pain. He introduced me to a spinal cord stimulator, after the trial I wanted to keep the trial stimulator because it helped me by lowering the amount of pain I had. There is no cure for Complex Regional Pain Syndrome...I know I can count on Dr Hummel and his NP Ashley to help me manage my pain.

Due to traffic, I was 10 minutes late and he wouldn't see me. I, too, was upset. But I realized that others were waiting to use the procedure room I was supposed to be in, and it had been passed on since I was late. I haven't been late since! But, after 11 years, he's STILL the best around, in my opinion. I hear so many times from family and friends of doctors who aren't helping them. I always refer them to Dr. Hummel. After all these years, he still takes the time to talk with me and find out how I'm managing my pain. I was in the hospital for knee replacement surgery, and THAT doctor left me in pain for 7 hours! When he finally got the meds changed, one nurse read the order wrong, and was refusing to give it to me! THAT'S a bad pain doctor! I'll never switch from Dr. Hummel.

I am pretty sure I will not need surgery and that's a huge relief! When I walked in there several weeks ago, I was limping, barely able to walk, and had to be driven there. I was in such bad shape that I would wake up crying in pain. From there, I am now mostly pain-free and I've regained the mobility I had lost in my left leg. Also, the front desk staff, nurses and medical assistants (not sure of all the proper titles) are all really nice people. I particularly enjoyed the upbeat attitude of the red-headed lady who did my intake - wish I had remembered her name. It is very easy to get an appointment, and you don't sit around waiting for a long time. The waiting room is small but has nice magazines and a TV, and the facility has parking, which is important! I found it convenient to drive to and locate the facility, which is right in a cute part of Wellesley near the Quebrada bakery. The doctor is an empathetic person who took time with me to understand my problems, gave me the appropriate treatment that has helped me go back to "living life", and answered all of my questions. I just feel very lucky to have been recommended to this place and now I'm recommending it to you! (if you need such things, but then you wouldn't be looking at this review if you didn't think you might need some medical intervention.)

I was told to bring in my X-rays from 2020, patient notes from my NC doctor along with the measurements for my specific case. I had been experiencing headaches and nausea so this is what alerted me to know my atlas was off and needed adjusting. I waiting 6 weeks for a New Patient appointment, brought the hard copies of all the information requested. Here are the PROS and CONS of my experience. PROS: Location of office easy to get to/ Parking is plentiful. CONS: Doctor took me 25 minutes late for my 1st appointment after being urged to arrive early to complete paperwork/ Dr. Dolan disputed my medical history of having "ruptured discs" in my cervical spine...saying they couldn't be ruptured despite the MRI saying they were herniated / During his new patient exam (within 5 minutes of my running shoes being taken off) he tried to sell me the orthotics he sells..saying my "type" of foot would lead to knee and hip issues without having them / After the new patient exam, reviewing my X-rays and Orthogonal Measurements from my previous doctor...he informed me he still needed more information and asked me to call my NC doctor. The end result is that I paid $165 for a new patient exam which consisted of him measuring my leg length, having me touch my toes, lift and lower my chin and then him feeling around on the back of my skull and neck. He wanted more information from my NC doctor, but after talking with them on the phone a few days later, still decided he needed me to come in for him to take all new X-rays (3 x $65) + a follow up X-ray ($65) post my first adjustment. I have seen 2 other Atlas Orthogonal doctors and have never experienced so much delay and uncertainty. Sadly, I have decided to continue flying back to NC to get my tune ups when needed, rather than trust my care to Dr. Dolan who made me feel like he only wanted to charge me for more things, didn't value my time and only valued his way/opinion. Best of luck if you need Atlas Orthogonal care. I would have given ZERO stars is possible and do not recommend anyone to this practice.

I've been a patient of Dr. Joshua Katz since I was first diagnosed with MS, and he's everything you want a doctor to be. He's one of the most intelligent people I know, but he's not afraid to say "I don't know" and to consult with colleagues and literature to get more information for you. As I write this, he's in Stockholm at the ECTRIMS congress to learn about the latest MS research and developments, and he's sharing updates with ELC patients on their Facebook page. He's hosted live online Q&As for patients, and it seems that whenever I email him with a question or concern, I have a response within an hour or two--even on weekends. And Dr. Katz is just one member of the team at the ELC! I've never met a patient of Dr. Ellen Lathi who isn't breathlessly praising her performance. I had my first appointment with Dr. Kenneth Gorson last week for intramuscular Botox injections, and I was so impressed by his ability to understand and address my movement issues. Their other staff members--from the reception desk to the infusion room--are so helpful and efficient that I actually enjoy days spent there hooked up to an IV. I'd be remiss not to mention the contributions of Jackson and Tiger, the very sweet ELC service dogs/mascots. I've met people who drive hours to get their treatment at the Elliot Lewis Center.
