I dread trying to find a new place to get my car serviced. A quote doesn't always mean anything…read more Sometimes there are hidden charges. And finding a new place to get vehicle services as a woman is worse. If you know, you know. I chose Hare Repair based on their great reviews. I called to make an appointment and they are busy. You can't just pop in without notice and have your vehicle serviced. That is another good sign. First of all, Rhonda is the main point of contact before service (quotes, scheduling, etc.). She is a dream. She is responsive, nice, funny, understanding and knowledgeable. When I arrived the morning of my appointment, Rhonda was not in yet. No problem. Other people were there. I was greeted by my name, having never been there before. (I wish I had gotten his name. Also very nice and personable.). The gentleman who greeted me asked what I needed. I explained that I needed brakes work but I wasn't sure if I needed front, back or both. I added that I am getting ready to make a road trip through several different states and I want to make sure that my car is ship-shape. It ended up being a good thing that I mentioned that. Back to that later. I dropped off my car when they opened, 7am. I received a call from Hare Repair at 7:50am that informed me that I need front brakes and he gave me a price LESS than what I was originally quoted. Not a lot less, but less. How often does that happen? Great! I received a call around 10:15am informing me that my car was ready and they replaced a couple of external bulbs that were out. This is where it goes back to me mentioning the road trip. When I picked up my car Rhonda said, "You don't want any lights out on a road trip." No, they did not call me to ask if they could replace the bulbs at a cost. But, I appreciate that they were thinking of ME while out on my road trip. Yes, that is a little more money that they made but I feel that isnworthbit for safety and peace of mind. Honestly, I know vehicle maintenance basics, but they could have told me that I needed both front and rear brakes and I would not have known differently. I was a little torn between 4 or 5 stars. The ONLY reason I considered 4 stars is their business hours. I repeatedly missed opportunities to schedule my service because they close at 2pm/3pm. However, I am so very happy with the people and the service that I must give them 5 stars. I will definitely be a long term patron.

The truck only has 36k miles and I have not noticed or felt anything strange. Took it to Sal's. First time I've used them. The work bays were spotless as was the waiting area. I was pleasantly greeted too. They worked me in in less than 15 minutes. I asked a customer who was waiting how he felt about the place, and he said he had been taking his vehicles to Sal's for over twenty years and always had good experiences. Mechanic test drove my truck and said he could detect anything. Sal had it put on the lift and inspected it, and he said the same thing- nothing was wrong! He charged me -0- for this!

Twenty years of family trust -- and they just proved why."…read more When my father brought me to Sal's shortly after I moved back to Houston, I understood immediately why he'd been coming here for 20 years -- through multiple family vehicles, through every season of life. Sal and his whole team operate with a level of integrity that's genuinely rare and at a fair value. This past weekend, I came in for a routine oil change. What I left with was something far more valuable: the knowledge that my family is safe on the road. Sal discovered my brakes were nearly metal-on-metal -- something my dealership had missed just one month prior. He also noticed my tires had dried out and cracked, which explained why I'd felt a loss of grip I'd been brushing off. Neither the dealership nor Discount Tire -- with whom I had an active membership and had just patched a tire -- flagged either of these safety issues. That day, I replaced both my brakes and tires with Sal. After 30 years with Discount Tire, I made the switch without hesitation -- to where the care and expertise are real. And the small touches matter too: cold bottled water while you wait, peppermints sent home with the whole family, and a standing offer to check my tire pressure monthly -- for free. I've never felt so safe in my car, or so genuinely cared for by an auto professional. Sal, thank you. Our family is grateful. I've never felt so safe on the road.

He not only responded first, but was timely and answered all of my questions before, during and now even after the work has been completed. 2. Close to home. 3. As far as auto repairs go, in my experience, super reasonable!!!! I was charged half of what "my usual"mechanic quoted me. Now, if only auto technicians would clean up after themselves... and no, I'm not singling Texas International Motors out. I'm talking in general. Greasy fingerprints on hood and glove compartment and shoe prints on the inside door jam
