Great swap meet with lots of sweet deals. They have mostly new but also plenty of used items here. They have pretty much anything and everything you are looking for. We came on a Saturday and they had clothes, tools, toys, food, makeup, hair accessories, furniture, garden stuff, plants, flowers, purses, electric bikes, and much more. They also had clean bathrooms yay! There was lots of venders on a Saturday but I will be back on a Sunday to see if there is more venders. read more

Great place to visit with the fam, you'll find what your looking and find some other items you see. Theres a lot of good deals and some vendors are open to negotiate the price. I was hoping to see more used items. Everything is over priced and it's more like a out door mall. I normally go to save a dollar or two on items only to find out it was 2-3$ more there! Lol! It's a Swap Meet, what can you expect? They've got a lot of vendors so expect a lot of walking; it's outdoors so expect the sun to beat down on you once it hits noon. Besides the worn-out/broken "garage sale" type items & clothing and the random convenience store home essential items (soap, shampoo, detergent, laundry baskets, etc.) -- there isn't much to look at here. I've been to better swap meets that have vendors with more substantial goods; it seems like here the vendors take whatever junk they've found and bring it here to rip off customers. Vendors are incredibly RUDE and if you can speak Spanish, then you definitely have an advantage because 9/10 vendors here ONLY speak Spanish. Almost none of them are willing to negotiate and advertise their junk with horrible fixed prices. I'm glad I learned Spanish or else thrifting around each stall would've been too difficult or just plain awkward. Parking is a hassle on particularly busy days like the weekend, and always gets hectic after 8/8:30AM. I didn't try any of the food there, but I noticed it was $3 for a burger and $1.75 for a hotdog. But honestly, after looking at the food, just bring your own water/snacks and save money. There are also people selling Mexican food/snacks around as well. You park inside the outdoor lot of the drive-in theater so it's away from the public, but there's no parking security. Always be aware & lock up because in comparison to other big-name swap meets, the Van Buren one looks like the slums. This place doesn't even deserve 2 stars: 1 for cheap admission, and if you're looking for a gallon of dish soap or a Costco size of laundry detergent, this is the place to pick up! Other than that, this is one place you can definitely miss out on. Honestly, to even give this place 2 stars would have been TOO generous and a lie. read more

Ive come here for maaany years! People talking bad about this place! Was having a bad day!! And takin it out on the vendors,theyre doing their job,ive been here for over 20 yrs and not once has anyone been rude!! Yes the wait to get in is like a 10 min wait yes there is alot of cars but becauseveveryone wants to come to this cool swapmeet lol! But its not bad,be patient,toull get in! Sorry but I'm not a fan. Right from the start, getting in is a mission. A long line of cars waiting at a turn with no light on busy Van Buren so basically one car every few to five minutes. Once you're in parking is a mess because you are weaving in and out of lanes and waiting in another line with cars trying to exist the same way out. Horrible! 25-30 minutes just to get in. For this alone, I would not go back. Once we were in it was 75c per person and kids under 11 are free. Not bad. Plus there are tons of tents. Problem is each rom is a repeat from the last. Very little variety, and the items that are there and not the greatest. I do have to say that it is pretty packed so some must love it! It is definitely worth a try. To each their own. Food - I didn't see much but I did smell the churros and they smelled delicious. The way I can tell if my swap meet/flea market trip was a success is how full my shopping bag is at the end. Amazing stopping grounds for shopping when it comes to affordable and value. Its kind of like a Walmart in terms of you can find anything you want. I mostly come for glasses and shoes because you cant beat the prices here. I went Christmas shopping this year and it was packed and I got a ton of stuff for an affordable price. My girlfriend was happy. Definitely a place to check out. and turns out all the vendors are licensed!! I did not know that, now we all do. read more

I don't even know how this place has 3.5 stars. Traffic to get in, out, or park was terrible. Ended up parking at del taco and walking. Somehow it's 50 cents at one entrance and a dollar at the walk up, seems shady to me. Sellers either had junk for too high, the usual cheap clothes, weird supplements, phones and video games. Don't get me wrong, I love swap meets and have been going since I was a kid, but the fun is digging through hidden treasure, not power tools and crusty baby toys. No raspados or vendors walking around, just one snow cone place with two flavors, and they are somehow able to charge tax on them? I was shocked. I suggest drive the few miles extra to the chino swap meet, or anywhere but here. read more

I have always enjoyed a good flea market and van Buren swap meet. They have everything from food to cheap Chinese made stuff. ITs a great way to kill a few hours. I highly recommend them to everyone who is looking for a good deals. read more

If I could give zero stars I would on one particular vender who sells tons of lined up nail polish on the edge of their table well one fell as I passed. The lady demanded I pay for it. I have never seen bad business practiced such as this. What law is this? Something new and made up? She has no manners on how she speaks to someone; ask don't tell someone and demand payment. I used to love this place. But lately its a slum. My best friend goes every weekend to work at the car wash with his buddy to make a little extra weekend cash...but was turned away this morning by the "ticket attendants". They told us, and I quote, "we dont know you. There is no car wash here." Like really guys? We are there every Saturday & we chat it up with you punks. Then, we ask to wait for the guy that runs the car wash, Pablo, so we can set them straight & they tell us no. They were very hostile & rude & if this is what VBSM is coming to...ill stick with offer up & let go. read more

If want to walk...go to this swap meet. Nothing is guaranteed. Lots of random stuff. Bathrooms are decent, smell like fabuloso but can't guarantee there will be toilet paper or paper towels. I can't believe there's only one other review for this place before mine!! This place is big. I'm not to sure about all the deets,ie... Hours, days, admission, food court and stuff like that! But... It is a pretty big spot... I just always leave with the feeling that prices aren't so great, they're just average. I feel that it's the same crap isle after isle! If fake Mac products are in... U bet be sure there's going to be a Mac vender every 5 spots. There are only a couple of "cool" unique little spots that have alternative music merchandise... Example: Bob Marley stuff, Metallica... Stuff like that. The rest of the venders can provide a thug with a whole new wardrobe. It's the same shoes vender after vender. Matter of fact I'm deciding on driving here which is only 15 minutes away or driving down to Paramount which is over an hr. from me??? Maybe I'm giving this place to many stars!! read more

This swap meet has been going on for decades, and it's not just on the weekends. It has transformed into more of a remate, which is a Mexican outdoor market like you'd find in various parts of Mexico. This is the real charm of the place. It does lack the food stalls like you would normally find in a remate, but it does still capture the feel of strolling through the weekly market in a small town in Mexico. The merchandise is almost totally geared toward Mexican/Hispanic immigrants. While the quality is often cheap and Chinese-made, you could find: clothes, tools, pet supplies, fresh produce, household goods, plants, electronics, dvds, toiletries, etc., and of course used goods. On a Thursday it was free to park and enter. We found a used but great condition Coleman camping stove for $5. On used stuff all prices are negotiable. Bring the kids and explore. read more

The only thing I bought was a new iPhone charger, $5. Now that's a good deal, at the mall it's at least $10. Other than that, they didn't really have anything interesting, just a lot of shoes, soccer shirts, toys, cleaning supplies and tools. If you want to start your own taco shop, they've got the grills for that, pretty cool. I don't think I'll be back, unless I lose another charger. read more

Scam alert, want to sell here? Better bring the guy at the booth Starbucks. We waited in line for hours and seen many people cut the line and waved thru, only to be told when we got to the front "sorry all sold out" I know the sellers with tickets get in first , but NOT at 8:45. Someone needs fired for running a hustle at the booth. People were turned away in front of us, then others paid to get in. Complete scam!!! read more

My dad's new favorite swapmeet! Lol it's only .50 cents to enter & park! Which is actually pretty cheap. They also wash cars for you! But I think that's an additional price. They have a nice variety of stuff my dad bought tools, and garden decoration for cheap! The time I got there they were already packing so most of the good stuff was already gone! I am an avid swap meet visitor and this swap meet was by far the worst I've ever seen. Everything is overpriced! Most items were purchased from downtown LA fashion district or pulled from the Goodwill clearance centers. The brand new clothes are comparable to Ross prices @ $10-$30. Used clothing are mostly junk and start at $1 and up but their quality is nearly unwearable except for the kids clothing. Also, it's a bi*** to get out of the one way exit. Took 30 minutes just to get out of the parking lot. Ridiculous! read more

Another swap meet, it is a little below average because of lousy ingress and egress parking. All the items are there just like most swap meets. Not the greatest organization like some places, but OK. Average sized, not a mega-size like OC swap meets. read more

Found some good deals but a lot of cheap crappy stuff. A lot of people don't speak English and weren't friendly or communicative. Not sure if it is worth going for a few items that I had to dig for. Lots of booths but much of the same thing repeated row after row. Was very disappointed to see animals, knives, and BB guns for sale which shows management is not very present. It's extremely dirty and stinks. Will not be back. read more

I came here last weekend with my husband due to "word of mouth". Yes, the parking was cheap (50 cents) on a Saturday but the parking is Tight and Horrific. For some reason I was under the impression that it was more of a "haggle" type place but that's not how it turned out. Actually whenever I asked about a price they were very "matter of fact" about it with no intensions of entertaining another amount which was odd because A LOT of the items were off brand, very cheap merchandise that looked like it had been used already several times and even when a product appeared "new" they wanted regular STORE prices for them. If I wanted to buy something from the store at a high price I would go to store and just buy it not go to a "discount Swapmeet" to Not get a discount. We walked and walked searching for a good deal at this point on ANYTHING so we wouldn't feel like we wasted a trip out there and we ended up buying a batch of 12 forks for $3.00 which lasted 2 HAND washes and then started rusting and bending. Anyways, they are completely useless now. We wasted $3.50 cents that day plus gas to get there just to throw away our terrible product. We won't be back. read more

Let me start off with this handicap parking is a joke you park way in the back about 75-80 yards you have to go to get into the swap meet to start shopping I'm in a wheelchair cars going everywhere not paying attention almost got hit two or three times what a joke Then there's people selling food right out of their cars or van ladies walking around with ice chest selling food went to the snack bar is everybody said I had to try burrito I think I'd have been better off buying it out of the trunk of a car one last thing Once you try to leave because cars are parked everywhere it takes you forever to get out of the parking lot read more
