First off this is our very first time ever visiting here as I just heard about it about 2 days ago so I thought I'd check it out. We came here for a fun family day out and to do something new. We had an amazing time playing around on the equipment for teens and adults. We absolutely loved getting to pick our own Pumpkins. They have a small food barn that serves a little bit of food, snacks, and drinks. We ate before we came. Prices for food/snacks is pretty cheap. They take cash and card payments which makes it super convenient in this day in age. They have a little gift shop area where you can get souvenirs and stuff I'm not sure on Prices as we didn't buy anything but Pumpkins. Price to get in is $10 per Adult which isn't bad for the amount of things you can do here. Prices for Pick your own Sunflowers is $1 per Sunflower you pick, and yes if you pick it you get to keep it. Prices for Pumpkins: Pick your own out of the pumpkin patch is $5 per pumpkin no matter the size or color. Prices for Pre-Picked Pumpkins are: $5 each for Large and Medium Pumpkins, $2.50 each for Medium white pumpkins and $1 each for small Pumpkins. Activities they have: petting zoo, farm animals to view, pig races, corn maze, pots n pans music station, hay bull lasso station, hula hoop station, multiple photo ops, mini cow tractor ride, hay ride, ball bouncing station, rubber duck races, obstacle course, sports throwing station, giant slides, and so much more. You do not want to miss out on the opportunity to have an absolute blast. This place is absolutely amazing and is a great place to come visit for all ages. I recommend everyone to come give this place a try you won't regret it!

This is probably the BEST pumpkin patch I've seen for people with kids (or large social/friend gatherings). While Hidden Valley Orchards near Dayton takes my win for "most romantic place for evening drinks", Van Buren Acres wins the "most things to do" by FAR. You could easily spend hours here doing all of the activities. Literally hours - especially if your kids/friends really jump into all of the different activities or you want to do selfies. We're talking: -Their own mini golf course -Tons of those little -A lasso game -A "hoop the horse" game -Multiple giant jumping pillows -Cute farm animals to look at and pet including a sheep and goat. (They were cute) -Stacks of haybales to climb - including giant pyramid ones -Fun obstacle courses in pretty good condition. While many are designed for kids, quite a few work just fine for adults. -Entire courses designed to roll that black plastic farm tubing (yeah, I don't know what it's called) down a lane with people inside of it -"Mining" for "treasures" area - including bags of dirt and "treasures" you can buy to recreate things at home -Gaga ball arena -Giant slides -U-Pick pumpkin patches -And so much more. I have literally forgotten some of it - and I didn't get to make it all the way around the property in an hour and a half, so I'm sure I missed some! It's like the owners said: How much fun could we pack into our acres of land...and they made it happen. A lot of it definitely has a "farm" slant to it - like the slides being made out of plastic tubing or sections cordened off with bales of hale. But that's what kept the cost low and still really makes it feel like a farm experience. Honestly, the creativity of all of the activities they've packed into here is ridiculously amazing. And pretty much all of this is free. They have the Shop, fruits/veggies, and U-pick available for money, but I didn't see any admission fees. (Please make sure to buy something to support the business if you end up coming out just for playtime though!) About my only complaint is its proximity to the highway. You won't notice it on most of the property (this is one of the few pumpkin patch farms I've been on that plays loud music), but if you're outside the front of the barn or near some of the front attractions when the music is between songs, you will hear the roar of semis and trucks. Not a huge deal but worth noting. ACCESSIBILITY NOTE: This is a large, large property that has virtually no flat pavement. It's all grass and mud, and it's a lot of walking to explore the entire property. It's a short walk if you just want to pick up pumpkins, but plan for lots of walking if you want to explore the activities. (For example, it took us 10 minutes to walk to the U-pick pumpkin patch - and another 10 back - just to actually make it to the patch)

Oh my gourd! How had I never heard of this place until this year? My sister and I were planning on taking my niece and nephew to a pumpkin patch over the weekend and were discussing where to go. With COVID-19 this year is definitely a little different. We heard through the grapevine that this place still had children's activities so we decided to give it a go. We arrived to find the best pumpkin patch and family farm that I've been to in central Ohio. Seriously! It was about 30 minutes from Columbus and directly off interstate 70. There was plenty of parking, live music, a giant sunflower farm complete with photo ops throughout, games, hay rides, the whole shabang! They even had food and beverages. We got a bag of the kettle corn and it was amazing! And you got all of this for only $8 a person (under 2yrs free). With everything they had going on, this was a steal. Pumpkins in the patch are $5 a piece, which is either or steal or not. It really depends on the pumpkins you choose. I got two giant ones so it was well worth it to me. But keep in mind that you have to pay $8 just to go to the patch. That being said, they have pre-picked pumpkins in case that isn't really your thing. Also, for those wondering, social distancing and masks were not enforced here. 90% of the experience is outside, so it wasn't a big deal to me, hence the five stars. I will definitely be coming back here in the future.

    I think he's having fun...

I have been to a few pumpkin patches this year and this one takes the cake. Very large space with enough activities to keep the kids busy for hours. Pig races were funny. The farm owner seems to love what he does.

Oh man did our family have fun this year!! We have two toddler girls and they loved seeing the animals. They loved their new ninja course. Definitely had a blast on the giant slides and smiled thru the entire cow train ride haha but I'm sure out of all the fun activities they enjoyed the bounce pillow the most!! And of course we ended our perfect day with shopping at their general store and picking out our perfect pumpkins!! Thank you and can't wait for another year!!

But what do I want to do? "Fall stuff" that Southern California, as much as I love it, just can't provide. That was our agreement - I will go to football games with him if he will go to pumpkin patches with me. So we found ourselves (now three times at Diamond Hill Farm) which put me in the mood I've always wanted to have in September / October but never have had until this year. It's a beautiful drive out to this working farm and the setting is beautiful once you arrive. There are pumpkins galore - all different shapes and sizes. There are also gourds, straw bales, corn stalks, decorative corn and mums for sale. If you want fall decor, this is your place to be. I'm not sure how their prices compare locally, but compared to California, it's a steal! There also seems to be plenty of fun to be had for the little ones. I didn't study it much because we had no little kids in tow, but it seems for a small fee or season pass, parents can take their babes into the fields for some swinging, slides, a hay ride, etc. Then there are the local goodies you can buy like fresh meats, jams, nuts and a few other things. I bought so many pumpkins and straw bales (remember I noted the reasonable prices?) that I needed a few wagons. Not sure if it was the owners or employees, but whoever came to help load everything into our truck was friendly. Go have a look and a buy if you want a lovely weekend drive and a good taste of fall. Post photos of your porch here after your visit.

About 30 mins outside of Columbus near Orient, the farm is easy to get to. They are solar-powered, too, which makes my heart happy! They have an awesome team who works hard and always with a smile. The shop has great treats and gifts. They have SO many varieties of gourds and pumpkins, too. Some I've never seen anywhere else. You can purchase pumpkins from just outside the shop if you don't want to take the wagon ride out to the field. There's also a little tractor train ride for kids and a small corn maze (both for a bit extra, maybe $4 each). They have goats to pet and big hay bales you can play on. If you choose the tractor wagon ride out to pick your pumpkin, it's $10 which includes any pumpkin you pick/can carry - no limit on color, size, variety. They rotate their fields every year so we have seen different field areas over the years. This year we didn't see the bee hives they keep on our train ride out. I hope their bees are still doing well! And now my favorite: The pumpkin donuts. They make them fresh right there and they are melt-in-your-mouth delicious. The donuts alone are worth the drive! They have chocolate and cherry donuts too but pumpkin is where it's at. I start thinking about these donuts in the summer, they're that good!! So whatever you do, don't skip the donuts!! The animal area was a hit - feeding the goats (just 25 cents!) was so cute and there were also a miniature donkey, pony, and a rabbit. We were a little bummed the hayride wasn't running when we visited, but there was still plenty to enjoy. The sweet treats and drinks were a nice bonus - frosted pumpkin sugar cookie + lemon shakeup = perfect fall combo! Overall, it was a great day full of classic fall fun. The sign to direct you to the "pumpkin patch" was small & easy to miss. If you weren't looking for a sign/ place to turn off you would be sure to miss it. Once we pulled off the main road we were on what seemed like a back dirt road. The patch itself was disdisappointing to say the least. As we turned in we were greeted by a big open field with a blow up play structure in the back, a pile of haphazard pumpkins(maybe 20 to 30) just sitting out in the open(they look like they had been purchased at various grocery stores within the last few days or even that day & there was a tractor off to the side pulling what could've possibly been a hay ride to I'm not sure where. The parking lot was free, unpaved, off to the side when you pull in & had maybe 10 cars, including ours that were there long enough to decide we weren't staying & then we left. As far as pumpkin patches go, I can't recommend Hartland Farm. Truthfully, if you're going just to pick out a pumpkin to decorate with carve, paint or whatever your selection would probably be better at any of the main box stores that are selling them. If you're looking for some fun fall activities to do, this is not the pumpkin patch for you. After we left HF we made our way out to Pigeon Roost Farm. It's located in Hebron, so it could be a bit of a drive depending on where you're coming from. This place embodies pumpkin patch, although there is a price to do most of the activities.
