This is a great farm to do fall activities for the entire family, especially the kids. We went down to choose pumpkins. They were sold at 49 cents per pound. For $11/adult, we gained entry to the fun center and hayride. The fun center had several activities... from corn hole and corn maze, to basketball hoops and all types of playful activities for the kids. The corn maze was okay. I felt like I went in circles and hardly made it through the entire maze. We were a group of 18 (11 adults and 7 kids), so it was a fun time to hang out and we all waited in order to fit on the hayride together. Sometimes the ride was so bumpy, we all had good laughs throughout. They also sell food like funnel cake, hot dogs, fries, and pumpkin donuts. The pumpkin donuts can be smelled throughout and were delicious as they were warm and fresh. At six donuts foe $6, a great buy. One of the kids was disappointed the pumpkin patch didn't sell pumpkin pie though. Overall, a great place families taking their kids. read more

This is a great place to come with your family of all ages. There are so much to do at the farm. You can buy pumpkins, feed animals, go through corn maze, hay rides and tons of other games on the playground to keep yourself busy the whole day. We were a big group, about 18 of us, and both adults and kids had a great time! The price to get in the playground was $11 for the day. If you need to leave the playground and re-enter then make sure you get your hand stamped for re-entry. The farm sold a variety of food too. It had popcorn, fries, nuts, funnel cakes, pumpkin donuts and apple fritters. The pumpkin donuts were warm and just delicious. There are two types of pumpkin donuts, one with sugar coded and the other is original. My favorite was the sugar coded one. It was just delicious! There is also a small gift shop where you can pick up different type of things for home décor. We will definitely be back here again next year. read more

Hello fall! If you want to enjoy some fall activities with the kiddos and family, this is the place to be! There is SOOO much to do at Pigeon Roost Farm! My family and I visited last weekend and it was super busy! One of the best things about the farm is that it is so large that you can be appropriately socially distanced. When walking into the farm, you are greeted by friendly staff and a large amount of pumpkins. You then walk to the ticketing counter to purchase whatever passes you would like the day. The passes are for the Family Activity Center (basically all of the fun activities - I took a lot of pics so you can see what is included), hayride, and paintball (you just shoot at a target). We purchased passes for the Family Activity Center and hayride for $11/person. That may seem a little pricy, but it was definitely worth it. When we walked I to the Activity Center, I mentioned that I felt like I was at the fair. We had so much fun! It was definitely needed during this time of uncertainty with the pandemic. We also enjoyed some sweet treats! My husband got a huge bag of kettle corn, the kids got ice cream sundaes, and I got a 1/2 dozen pumpkin donuts (all for me)(I wish!). I highly recommend Pigeon Roost Farm to everyone! Again, we had a blast! We were there for several hours (that's how much there is to do there)! We will definitely be back again next fall! A couple things I also want to mention: the hay ride and corn maze are two things that definitely sold me on this place. The hay ride isn't your quick around the block hay ride. It is a lengthy and enjoyable hayride. You also get to learn about the farm (which has been around for more than 40 years)! The corn maze is the same! Fun for Kids AND Adults. They have something for everybody! Hand sanitizers everywhere as well as very friendly staff and delicious apple fritters and other snacks made our day. Great play area for kids and young adults. A small fee was required for entry. Areas were spaced apart for social distancing. Small animals, slides, a fort, hay rides, basketball, corn maze were all the things my young children loved. Small food stand and a few tables allowed for a perfect lunch spot. What a great place for kids! My 2 year old and 1 year old grandkids had a blast. Good for older kids as well. So many activities!!!

I've heard this place gets very busy on weekends, but we've been able to go on weeknights both visits and I SERIOUSLY recommend this strategy if you can pull it off. During season, they're open until 7pm. We were able to get there by 4pm both times; three hours for a 4 and 6 year-old to do everything here several times over is PERFECT. I much prefer the hustle and bustle of getting there from work on a weeknight with a relaxed atmosphere while we're there to the possibility of waiting in lines on the weekends. They have everything you could imagine for 3-10 year-olds at least. Your slightly older kids might enjoy several of the things as well: slides slides and more unique slides!, corn maze, corn box (sand box full of corn), basketball hoops for little ones and bigger ones, football throw, crawl mazes, climbing structures, live animals, some rolling things I can not quite describe but highly recommend you try, and some woods with more play areas! It's totally worth the $7 price tag (price may be different on weekends?) for the kids, but my only complaint is that the adults must pay the same as the kids. So $28 for a family of four? A bit steep, but still worth it. I didn't even mention the market out front, which apparently a lot of people come for - everything you can imagine at a Fall market and MORE. Prices are reasonable and it could be your one stop shop for all things Fall. If you can't tell, I'd highly recommend this place and we'll try to hit the place at least once per year as long as our kids are of age to enjoy it. read more

This was my second time going to a pumpkin patch and it was a fun experience. I will say that a lot of the activities are for children but there was a lot of delicious food. Love this place! My 2 and 4 year old had a blast again this year. This was our third year in a row going and we have every intention of keeping up the tradition for many more years to come. It is a little bit of a drive for us but absolutely, without a doubt worth it. They love seeing and feeding all the animals, playing in the large corn maze, the Kids-sized soybean maze, the forts and playgrounds, playing the games, rolling in the human sized 'gerbil wheels'..... Seriously there is so much to do. Oh yeah, and picking out and buying pumpkins of course! We spent about 4 hours there today and the kids weren't ready to leave. Our one child played on the many different home-made like games and playground type things they had, and our other child was too cold (it was mid 60s) and wanted nothing to do with any of it. My biggest disappointment is when a place charges the ADULT to get into a kid-themed area. It's like paying to watch your own children! (As if we don't pay enough) ..Charging the adult does not make sense and felt wrong, but to each their own. $12 a person to get in with a hayride, so for a family of 4 that is just under $50 which doesn't include drinks or snacks/ pumpkins or anything-so be prepared to drop some $. read more

This place was REALLY busy, but I'm not going to fault them for that because we went on a Saturday at around 1, on a perfect fall day. They do have a ton of parking, which made it more manageable. I'm pretty sure Pigeon Roost had more pumpkins sitting out than I've ever seen. They also have quite a few animals, with a miniature cow, two camels, and lots of random critters in between. They have slides and gerbil ball type things for older kids, and plenty to climb on and explore for the younger ones. The hay ride is 3 dollars and it was longer than I expected. Informative too. Who says rolling around in mud and hay is just for kids?? I went to Pigeon Roost Farm in the fall of '07, so my memory might be slightly glossed over and it's likely that they've changed some things on the farm, but I just rediscovered some pictures from when I was there and couldn't resist writing a review. A couple friends and I decided to embrace our Midwestern surroundings and to track down a corn maze. So one Saturday in October we trekked out to Pigeon Roost. There was a big gravel/ dirt lot for parking, and numerous other cars there besides our own. We paid our $4 and started on our way! (Note that the $4 charge is to access the "farm fun" area and the corn maze. You can still go without paying if you just want access to the stuff for sale and the food). This is down-home farm fun at its finest, if you ask me. There was a crazy goat that you could feed for a quarter, a tube slide that all the little kids kept chasing us away from (what???), grown-up size rocking horses (see profile pic), lots of animals running around, a semi-spooky walk through the woods, a play area for the really little kids, giant pumpkins.... But best of all was the corn maze. When I went in 2007, the corn maze was shaped like a giant rooster. I guess each year they have a new design, which is fun if you're a repeat customer because you have a whole different challenge each year. Personally, I love corn mazes and think they're one of my favorite country pastimes. Even though it had been raining for several days before we went and we all ended up covered in mud, I think this was one of the best corn mazes I've ever been to. My ONLY complaint was the abundance of kids everywhere, particularly in the maze because they killed all elements of surprise. But as a family-friendly weekend activity, it's expected. I had hoped for some more farm-cooked foods there, but instead they have a couple fair-type booths that sell, well, fair foods. On a brighter note, practically the entire front barn is set up as a store so you can buy any sort of other homemade good you could ever dream of. I love this place and will definitely be back, although next year I might borrow some friends' children to feel less out of place. read more

This is a great little farm to go to especially if you have young children. I don't know what they do during the regular season but during the pumpkin/Halloween time it's pretty great. They obviously have tons of pumpkins to choose from along with many different varieties so you can have quite an eclectic display if you so desire. The prices are also quite reasonable for all of their pumpkins. They have many, many rooms in their barns and buildings set up for decoration with each room having a bunch of knick-knacks and decorations for sale. I think I even saw that they had hot cider and hot chocolate for sale which is perfect for those rainy and overcast October days. Behind all of their buildings they have many activities for kids to go and play at. Warning: if it has rained recently you will want to wear clothes you don't mind getting really muddy. There is a petting section so kids can pet some goats. They have a couple of different mazes, some play ground style forts, many slides, some small tunnels for kids to crawl through, and much much more. I recently visited Pigeon Roost with my baby (6 wks), my two sisters, and their kiddos (ages 1, 1, and 3). I knew there wouldn't necessarily be much for me and my baby to do, but I came anyway to enjoy the fall weather and spend time with my nephews. I can honestly say I was surprised and impressed! I was expecting a pumpkin patch and a few slides, but there was so much to do! There were goats, ducks, bunnies, and geese, a play area for ages 3 and under, tons of slides, things to climb on, barrels for kids to run in and race each other, a big pen full of giant balls to bounce on, a corn maze, a mini maze, a ninja warrior course, big wooden rocking horses, gift shops, pumpkins, corn, gourds, and a lot more. When we were there, there was a school visiting and even with 100+ kids running around on top of the normal visitors it still wasn't overly crowded. I really liked the fact that the gift shop was reasonably priced, parking was free, and that it's actually open during the week. The one negative thing I have to mention is that it still costs $8 for adults to go into the play area. My sister asked why this was, and they said, "Well, there are activities for all ages in there." Eh, not so much, lol. So plan on paying an extra $8 for yourself to go in to supervise your children. But all in all, I still think it's worth it. Like I mentioned, there's a ton to do, and you could easily spend an entire day there. I'll definitely return next fall with my little one! read more

Pigeon Roost Farm is the premier fall, Halloween and pumpkin picking experience! This place does it right, top notch. I have been coming here for almost 20 years, enjoying all there is to offer as a kid and now get to take my kids here for them to experience. They add different activities every year, and if you're a shopper, there are not just cute fall/Halloween knick-knacks, but they also invite local artists in to enhance the offerings. There are areas that are almost hidden off to each side- on the far side is the big corn maze, with a smaller corn maze for the little ones on the near side, and play places back in the woods near that. Warning don't go last day they're open. Employees must be tired and grouchy!!. My son and family went. Mom with 2 little ones paid the $21 to get down in the play area. My son didn't feel well had the baby and asked if he could just go down and sit to watch the other ones play. He was told not until he paid $14. The baby is 14 months and 2 and under are free. They ended up telling him to leave and not come back. I called and in the background I heard the woman say,"And now the mother-n -law is calling!" Honestly?? We lived outside of Kirkersville 30 some yrs.ago have been going their for years. You can go to the fair and buy a ticket for your child to ride the merry-go-round and for you to stand by him for safety reasons they don't charge a parent. It has always been busy but the farm is so big that the kids still get to do the many activities with a short wait. Shocking that there are so many rave reviews! I found it to be a total waste of time. Little to shop for but what looked like someone's old collection of junk or buyouts . The fun area for kids is way overpriced at $7 for each, including parents and grandparents for kids to play on old tires!? And too far away to let your kids go in alone. And a few geese, goats and turkeys aren't my idea of lots of farm animals. And so many tacky handmade signs saying "display only " or don't touch!
