This is by far the worst service i've ever gotten. I dropped off my car early in the morning for an oil leak and came back many hours to find that they didn't even touched it yet. I understand they could be busy but have some time management, lol. I come back the following day for them to finally be finished. I see the inside of my car with my cushion and other belongings thrown to the side, leaving a mess. I understand they need space but at least don't make a mess.they also didn't bother wiping my car till i got there, you had 2 days!! Mr van is a good mechanic. This auto service is always busy but you will always get his honest opinion if your car needs a certain service preformed. I've been to many other auto services but once I found his shop I always come back regardless the wait because I know the work he has done to make car last. I have a 16 year scion and been going to him the last 5 years. Brought in my car to fix a hyper extended right door. Ended up having to buy hinges and a new door panel and a paint job. After a few days i received a call from van that my car was ready. Went to pick up the car. From a distance it looked clean. After closer inspection paint job sucks, bumps and rough patches around the edges. Door still would not close properly, it required a little more effort than normal. Just overall poor service. Van is out to cheat you for your money so do not come here for any car service. read more

Farmers insurance agent recommended this place because he said his whole family has been with them for a long time and provide great quality service. Since we had a good talk and he helped me with many questions, I trusted him. He specifically said he's not recommending but if I need one, can give it a try. I had been going to this other shop but if there's something better , why not give it a try? I thought ... I had to get my car door fix and Insurance fully covers for it. After I dropped it off, my friends told me why get it fix at an Asian place where they could do shady jobs to your car. Unless you're paying cash and wants it cheaper but should bring to creditable Dealer or American shops. So I wanted to withdraw my decision to fix here. They said I couldn't take out my car since it has been kept for about 5 days max waiting to repair. If I wanted to take it out , pay $400+ for storage fee. Basically they're forcing you to fix it with them. I had no choice but had to go ahead and fix it here because no way I'm gonna pay that ridiculous storage fee. After car is fixed, my back door unable to open. ( driver side door was replaced). Came by and they didn't even want to acknowledge me. I was standing in the office waiting for like 15 mins while they're standing in their office not tending to customer busy doing something else and keep telling me to wait. Money is paid so who cares kinda attitude. I'm at the shop right then and there and just ask please come out and take a look at my car door to see what's wrong. They told me to come back at another time! Seriously, I do not want to come back to this shop ever if I didn't have to. Worst customer service and I will never recommend this shop to anyone wanting quality auto care. They only had me as one time customer and I will not recommend anyone or friends/family to come here. read more

We have been coming to Van's Auto Service for as long as I can remember. I was a kid in high school when my parents first started taking their cars to Van for repairs and now as an adult with my own family, I don't trust anyone else to work on our cars other than Van and his staff. Van is very knowledgeable in dealing with insurance companies if it has to do with any type of claim and he is reasonably price too. DONT DO IT, RUN AWAY AS FAR AS YOU CAN, GET OUT!!!! I was first recommended by my uncle to go there because my starter went out, My uncle started also went out on his x5 said he charged him around 300 something. His was a bmw x5, mine is 3 series bmw so i figure around the same place. Van (owner) charged 540, i was hesitant because of the price different, but hey since he was recommended I went ahead and did the job. He called after the starter finished a couple days after and said the car was ready for pick up, at which point I remember my aux and bluetooth had issues so I asked him to see if he can take a look at that too and I'll pay for everything all together. Mr.Van agreed and say he'll take a look at it. I waited a couple days later and check up on it, when i called him he said "ohh he got busy and forgot. but he will look at it right away". With patient I waited for a couple more days. When i called him he said " maybe you should take it to a car stereo shop to take a look at it". Wow 4 days?!?! for you to come up with that conclusion? anyhow i picked up my car and went about my way. Thinking my troubles were over. I drove for only 3 times that week, because i was switching between my trucks and the car, and then my car check engine light came on, first time ever on this car, because I keep up with my maintenance pretty well. I decided to do a oil change to see if that would help, luckily I did because that was when i notice coolant dripping from my car. So I called up Mr. Van and told him my check engine light was on. He told me to bring it in the next day. When I went to the shop I wanted to test Mr. Van to see how thorough his mechanical inspection was. after about half an hour he came back and told me the car had a dmtl leak which is a fancy way of saying my gas tank sensor malfunction and i had to replace the sensor, if wanted to do it the job would be another 540. I was very skeptical so i google up the code and youtube the job and the part was only 64 dollars and the youtuber did the job in a 5 minute video. So I told him I'll pass. But he didnt mention anything about the class three dripping of my coolant which mean the guy didnt even look under. So I asked did you see the coolant leak? he gave me this confused face and said ok let me check. after he check he said my radiator was leaking. He told me that would cost me 570 for the job I weight the likely hood of my engine overheating and doing some heavy damage internally i agreed to it. It was 11am at the time, after i agreed to the job Mr. Van just took my keys and left, I sat there till 6:15 pm, in that whole time waiting he never once took the time out to update me on what the progress was, or how much longer do i have to wait, he just walk in and out without any acknowledgement. I could've gotten a lot of things done in that 7 hours, but he just keep me out the loop. I wanted to see how long he would leave me un-inform, it was around 6:15 when got worry since the place closes at 7, so i went outside to the shop and I respectfully ask him hey do you know how much longer? should I come back? then he finally went up to the mechanic and ask him how much longer, the mechanic told us 30 mins. I was worry he wouldn't get it done in time so I got my hand in there and help the mechanic. after he put everything back, i asked the mechanic hey do you guys have bmw coolant? because bmw need their specific coolant. He told me he's not sure, he'll have to ask the owner, then i got worry. anyhow they found some audi coolant and added that in, but they didnt even have half a gallon the audi coolant. I know this because I flush my coolant at home and follow the instruction too the T. You need a gallon of coolant and a gallon of water. I stood there and watch as he add just water to make up for the rest, then the mechanic told me you have to add some more yourself, I was pissed at this point because I am paying yall 570 dollars for a radiator job and yall dont even want to put the correct amount of coolant! Thats not where my problem end though. When we turn the car on to check the leak, transmission fluid came out everywhere, because the mechanic didnt secure the hose back on properly. Then he had the nerve to tell me only a quart came out " not that much, you'll be fine". I was so mad at this point but i kept my cool. I went over to Mr.Van and told him the situation, he said you can come back in the morning and i'll add more transmissio fluid for you. I agree and came back in the morning at 10:30. That morning when i woke up first thing I check was my coolant level, and sure enough the tank looked boned dried! Very Upset at this point but i kept my cool again. When i came back at my appointed time 10:30, and of course what would you expect I sat and waited for an hour! after hour mark I had to go find him in the shop. When I first moved to Houston last year, within a few months of being here I needed some work done on my vehicle, and was unable to get a good referral for a mechanic local to my residence. I found Van's Auto Service through Yelp. I took my car in and he was very knowledgeable about the work I needed done. He gave me an estimate and we shook on it... (surprisingly enough). Upon completion of the work performed, he honored our verbal agreement on price, and did an awesome job! He also completed the work needed in a timely fashion and had my car back to me within the same day. I have taken my car to him several times for different things it needed, (I drive an older vehicle so she needs repairs here and there)... But Van was honest, and he guarantees his work. I would give him 5 stars but because of two of his staff members who lack good customer service, and one screwed up on one of my repairs. But Van himself is a really good mechanic, and I will continue to give him my business. read more
