It's easy for me to get to…read more During the best of times, Judkins is a vibrant park that has large fields for soccer, volleyball, frisbee or anything else you may enjoy outdoors. There's a basketball court and a skate park. There's a splash pad, picnic tables, restrooms and kids playground. With COVID I have seen a lot of people wear mask as they do the above activities. Not everyone complies and the skate park and basketball court is frequently crowded. However, going for a walk on the walking path or a bike ride, most people are following suggested social distancing guidelines. Judkins feels like a neighborhood park. The kind of park where you see familiar faces and as a member of the neighborhood, I definitely can attest to that.

It's a beautiful park with a basketball court, huge big toy and a long slide. The park was calm and brought back memories of my childhood. I just didn't like how the park has a bad rep to it because of the neighborhood it is in. It's a place to stop by after shopping by Safeway or grabbing food nearby Othello/MLK strip. Also, bring a snack and wear the right sliding outfit so you can shoot off the slide quick!

Also, Cynthia has an iron backside. I've gone down a similar slide in Skyway when I was a kid and they don't round the bottom of these things - they're just FLAT BENT METAL. I've once sat at the top, meditating the rapid descent of 20-30 ft - and nothing more. I mean it's only sharp angles at the bends, no curves! I can only hear the: "Weeeeeeeeeeee!---[thump]---OWW!" It's a nice park/playground (parkground/!), though. Just watch out for the inconsiderate poop plops from dog owners who aren't quite mindful and some trash. Besides that, check it out a bit the next time you're in the area winding away from time.

Fairly large wooded area with a few little trails. This park is not that great and you shouldn't take the time to travel here, but it's a-okay if you're already in the area. There have been a few times I've felt unsafe in the wooded areas, so definitely pay attention to your surroundings! This park also has tennis courts and a basketball court which are fairly well maintained and there are bathrooms available for use (during the warmer months).

The park is located next to New Holly with picnic shelters, a plaza, an expanded children's play area, landscaping, and a community garden. Even so, for a small park, it does have a lot to offer for recreation. There we're quite a few people walking there dogs there too. Great place to sit & eat that to-go-order on a nice sunny afternoon.

This is specifically a review of the softball fields. It's really nice to have 3 fields together…read morefor softball purposes, and the grass in the outfield is fairly well maintained (although the ground is uneven), but other than that the field needs a big upgrade. The dirt infields are terrible. Around the bases and home plate are like a sandbox into the 1st game of the day, let alone several games later. It's a hazard trying to run around the bases here because you don't know what kind of surface your foot is coming down on, and several people end up pulling or twisting something they wouldn't have if the ground was solid. Supposedly turf is a few years out (it was a few years out a few years ago too), and that'll solve these issues. But, until then it's a convenient place to play, but really not great. Also, while they have a few water fountains by the fields, none of them work. You have to walk all the way to the bathrooms by the parking lot to get water. Finally, parking can be a major issue here if there is soccer, softball, and cricket all going on (or some variation thereof). There's a ton of wasted woodchipped areas between the existing parking lot and fields that should be converted to additional parking.

Phillip Arnold Park is a 10 acre park with a baseball field, basketball court, tennis courts, and…read moreplenty of room to play. It's hard to access from the old town because it's on the OTHER (eastern) side of I-405 and you need to take a fly-over. Use google maps or a GPS to find it. The park is a pretty nice neighborhood park, but that only rates it 3+ stars in my book. The 5-star aspect of this park is that it is the jumping off point for some classic, very fun and technical mountain biking. Where are the trails? You could SEE them from I-405 if you were driving south near exit 2 (although it's not convenient to access them from here) . On I-405, if you looked to your east, you would see some high-voltage electrical lines coming down the hill. The trails are on the slope in the unbuildable easement underneath and near these lines. Thank god for the powerlines or some f'ing greedy developer would have developed the crap out of this area years ago. The area might not sound very scenic -- and in a few spots it's not with powerlines crackling overhead -- but mostly it's just trees, slope, and singletrack. You can access the trails by parking at the Phillip Arnold Park parking lot. Ride south for about 1/3 mile on the access road. Look for trails to your right (west). Take any trail you might find or look for the fireroad. Back up in hyeah is the hilarity of Tapeworm, Parasite, Crop Circles and other trails. These trails are wooded, tight, twisting singletracks -- back and forth, up and down -- with obstacles like boardwalks, drops, ramps, teeter totters, fallen logs,. In spots you'll get totally wedged up by crazy and stupid lines -- drop down over a 1/2 dozen tree roots, suddenly make a tight climbing turn, go betwen two trees a handlebar's width apart and then jump over a log. In other newly developed parts (mostly to the southern end) you can find some trails with bermed turns, whoo-dee-doos, and a jump or two. Extra points if you can find "Declan's Death Ride". The whole complex is fairly rideable in winter as the area drains well, but be careful not to tear up the trails when they're wet and muddy. In the summer (especially in overgrown areas) you will want to ride with a patch kit and/or Mr. Tuffy's in your tires -- lots of blackberry thorns on the trail. These are classic east-side trails -- enjoy them safely and watch for other riders. Stop at Naan 'n Curry in downtown Renton on your way home, have some delicious curry and say "hi" to Uncle Mike. There is also a pavilion for events, which we utilized during our picnic. The park is beautiful, well-maintained, and in a tucked away spot in Renton - I had no clue this park was here. It is truly a hidden gem.

The Rainier Beach Playfield has received a much needed face lift. From climbing to swinging to…read morejumping, all will be enthusiastically enjoyed at this renovated play area complete with new play equipment and climbing structures and one of Seattle Parks' longest zip lines! Surrounded by two large baseball fields and new and improved tennis courts, the Rainier Beach Playfield is adjacent to the community center and now more modern than ever. Your little monkey will love the giant spider-web of climbing ropes, and the new fitness equipment makes working out the wiggles even more fun. Kids (and parents!) will also enjoy scooting back and forth on a skateboard attached to rails, working their legs on an elliptical-type contraption, and scampering up and over the mini-climbing wall. When your kiddo is ready to take a break from all that climbing and jumping, this newly renovated play space is home to two large yellow swinging chairs with chest harnesses--perfect for ages 5-12. Unfortunately toddlers are too small to fit comfortably in these bigger swings, but other swings with updated padded seats are also featured--great for big kids and grown ups alike! Toddlers and waddlers will find the manicured green space in the center of the play area an excellent place to explore. And when your family gets tired of the play structures, there is plenty of shaded green space to relax, kick a ball around or play tag. Nice park, love all the new equipment.

With more sunny days in Seattle, Westcrest is always one of my favorite spots to go to. It is small…read morebut might-y with endless possibilities! -good amount of parking -a big paved loop for walking/biking/running/jogging/rollerblading and more -a playground with a small zip line for the littles -inside of the paved loop is grass perfect for running around with your fur babies or having a picnic. In the summer, I often see families flying kites here too! -public restrooms -tables and benches This hidden gem is one of my favorites in the highland park area!

My kids had so much fun on the playground the dual ziplines were the highlight. Another cool feature were the slides built into the hillside. This is a clean park I didn't see any litter or spray-paint. There are a ton of signs warning you that cars get broken into so don't leave anything in your car! The parking lot is a bit off from everything so it's easy for theft to happen!
