Wifi speeds on bus at pickup location (capped to .7 Mbps up/down)

Vamoose is an excellent option for a hassle free trip between MD/VA and NYC. It is cheaper than the train, cheaper than the plane. And has less overhead than both of those methods, there are no airports and waits involved. It more convenient than driving on your own, not only does it free up your time instead of having to pay attention to the road, but also you dont need to pay any tolls. In fact the tolls alone are nearly the cost of the bus ticket. In my experience (3 trips so far) the bus has always left on time, and the experience if fairly smooth overall. I would suggest that you arrive at the pick up spot at least 20 minutes before departure if you want to have your choice of seats. The gold bus is more comfortable than the regular bus, and if you get there extra early (are amongst the first 12 people to board the bus) you can get one of the single seats if you happen to be travelling alone. The bus is reasonably clean, they provide you with a bag for trash, and there is generally some sort of WiFi (slow, I posted a bandwidth test image) available on the bus if you need it. In some cases they provide free water, this is been hit or miss on non-gold rides, and pretty much guaranteed on gold rides. Personally I find the pickup and drop off locations to be extremely convenient (Bethesda/Penn station), and for this reason alone I will be riding the Vamoose bus again.

I took the train, from DC to NYC. It was an excellant ride. I paid $80. Returing to DC, I took Vamoose bus. It was an excellant ride. I paid $30. The pick-up location is right next to the Penn station. The bus was on time, and very clean, and not crowded at all. Great experience!

What can I say - I have been using Vamoose Bus for the last 3-4 years between Bethesda and NY and it is the best bus service compared to my previous experiences with Megabus, Chinatown Bus(the worst - avoid at all costs), Tripper Bus, Greyhound Bus(avoid). Booking Vamoose Bus is an easy website to navigate and can also handle your rescheduling of bus-tickets or putting tickets back on-hold if you can't use it. BONUS - Reward Point System - Points are awarded for each ride taken with Vamoose and after a few rides, an free ride is offerred for being an loyal customer. I haven't quite figured out the point system just yet (or haven't read carefully enough about it) but it looks like the conversion is for every 5 one-way tickets (2 round trips and 1 One-Way), you get one free one-way ticket. Pretty darn good system especially if you travel more frequently. Deparature Arrival in NYC The dropoff/pickup location is conveniently located at 31st and 7th Ave. Really convenient location as it's near alot of major subway lines so it is easy to get to. Also, there is an taxi stand line one block up for those who need an cab. Departure Arrival in Bethesda The dropoff/pickup location is also conveniently located at 7401 Waverly Street in Bethesda. This is an really great spot as the metro is one block away and there is an huge indoor parking garage for you to park your car. There is also an Cosi Cafe and Starbucks on the same block so you can grab an snack for the bus ride. Time - Each ride takes about 4-6 hours really depending upon traffi but I would say about 85% of my rides take about 4.5 hours. Bus - This is what separates itself from any other bus service. The bus itself is clean and outlets work. Bus is comfortable. No bad smell. Bathroom is equipped with hand sanitizers and toilet paper and is relatively clean for an bus. They also offer an Gold Bus version (double the cost) that offers more luxurious options such as more space and leather seats, laminated floors, etc. Customer Service - Customer Service is really good. They do an good job and look out for the custoer service. You get to talk to an live person and if you can't change your ticket online (they shut down changes 1 hour before departure), the customer service will do it for you. I've changed my ticket a few minutes before the departure as I got stuck in subway traffic on my way to the station. GREAT Customer Service. Ride - The ride itself is relatively smooth also regardless of where you sit. I have not had any bad experiences with other fellow bus riders. Most bus drivers will not make an pit stop but it is up to the discretion with the bus driver whether they will take an pit stop. Most pit stops are an rest area where you can pick up an snack and use the restroom. They give you 15 minutes so it's enough time to grab an snack, use the restroom and get back on the bus without feeling too rushed. Price - With all these great points, the only small downside is that it costs more than other bus services. If you book it really early in advance and on an off-time departure, you can get the ticket for 20 bucks. Most tickets are either 30 dollars or 40 dollars. The gold bus is 60 dollars and only have a few departure times. Small Note - I know the bus also goes to Rosslyn but I have never taken it to that stop.

I paid for a luxury bus experience and got a Megabus experience! Highly disappointed! The bus driver arrived early and STILL made everyone stand in the extreme heat with our bags. When we asked if we could get on the bus since the staff were talking in the diner, they gave us an attitude and said that we have to wait until 11:30 to board. These photos are us at 11:40! But here's the kicker...the AC wasn't working and we had to be switched from a Gold Bus to the Coach Bus!And to make it worse, I actually was recommending business to this place!

They handled our pickup from LGA to our Midtown hotel and later our return trip back to the airport, and both rides were flawless. This was truly 5-star service and one part of the trip I didn't have to worry about at all. The vehicles were clean and comfortable, communication was clear, and everything ran exactly on time. It was worth every penny compared to mass transit or other ride services. What really set them apart was their customer service. When we were dropped off at the airport, my son accidentally left his phone in the car. Umar went out of his way to drive all the way back around and personally return the phone to us--no hesitation, no attitude, just genuine care and professionalism. I can't recommend Precision NY Chauffeur Service enough. If you want reliable, stress-free transportation in NYC, this is the company to use.

Mauriccio failed to show up at baggage claim saying he could not get into the airport because of construction. He called again after about 5 minutes saying we were not on the ground floor outside the baggage claim, which we were. He told us to go into the parking garage. We lugged two suitcases, one garment bag, and three under the seat sports bags into the parking garage. We struggled to get our luggage into the parking garage, which was deserted. After a wait of 10 minutes or so, he called to say he couldn't find us and could we send our coordinates on WhatsAPP. I said I did not know how to do that. He again wanted to know where we were. I told him that I had passed Uber pickup spots. He said he would pick us up there. We struggled to get our luggage to the Uber pickup spots. He arrived about 10 minutes later. He stopped blocking traffic and helped to load our luggage. It would have been easier, cheaper, and quicker to use Uber. By this time having stood outside for more than half an hour, we were frozen (It was winter.) Limo Star NY refunded our $30 for failing to pick us up inside but this is the second time we have booked inside pickup and not gotten inside pick up due to 'construction'. but that time it was La Guardia.

(Full disclaimer - I regularly transfer at this station from/to my 2/3 train to home.) It's not your original 1904 subway station, baby! In 1917, the Dual Contracts between at the time separately run subway lines created the first Times Square connections, leading to today's massive modernized setup now all run by MTA with improved signage and numerous countdown clocks to help identify those next trains. But wait, my reco! While you may be in a rush to or from Times Square or connecting to your next subway line, it's worth making time to check out the treasures at this station!!! Amazingly, the MTA has put money towards what is in essence a Times Square Subway Station 24/7 museum of public art with 8 awesome works: + Norman B. Colp's "The Commuter's Lament" or "A Close Shave" 1991 - Overhead beams along the 42nd St. passageway from the 8th Avenue Lines entering this Times Square Station, the Bronx conceptual artist employed messaging inspired by an old Burma Shave ad, that reads in sequence "Overslept", "So tired", "If late", "Get fired", "Why bother?", "Why the pain?", "Just go home", "Do it again", then picture of a bed. + Roy Lichtenstein's "Times Square Mural" 1994 (designed 1990, installed 2002) - Perched high in the station's Times Square entrances' tall central hall, a long porcelain enamel on steel. pop art portrayal of a futuristic train going through the station in his iconic, signature, comic book style. + Jacob Lawrence's "New York in Transit" 2001 - The "dynamic cubism" artist's figurative mosaic of straphangers and their everyday activities around town. + Jack Beal's "The Return of Spring" 2001 and "The Onset of Winter" 2005 - Both of these American realist painter's mosaics reimagining the Greek myth of Persephone and Hades in modern times. They're dually bright homages, respectively, to filmmaking when this subway station becomes the location set as well as to the life above a station entrance with street repairmen and a fruit stand. Note, in one, her descent down and, in the other, the man offering a Pomegranate, a fruit Greeks associated with the Underworld, to people by the subway stairs. + Toby Buonagurio's "Times Square Times: 35 Times" 2005 - The Native New York sculptor's 35 unique, glazed ceramic shadow boxes that depict different delightful motifs connected to this central neighborhood either related to the performing arts, fashion, or general life. + Jane Dickson's "Revelers" 2008 - The American painter's Murano glass mosaics of New Year's Eve celebrators, some with horns, etc., dressed for the occasion. + Nick Cave's "Each One, Every One, Equal All" 2022 - This multi-talented sculptor, dancer and performing artist created the clusters of vibrant mosaics and video images that extend outside and inside the entrance closest to the S Shuttle plus along new the tunnel to the 6th Avenue lines. The figures in this extensive work are derived from his "Soundsuit" decorative sculptured costumes that allow the wearer to mask their identity as to race, gender, and class, thereby creating both a freedom for them as well as a state in which onlookers will observe these individuals with no prejudice. * All access at this Times Square station between 1,2,3,7,N,Q,R,W and S 42nd St Shuttle trains are ADA compliant. Nevertheless, the B/D/F/M 6th Avenue lines' 42nd Street-Bryant Park Station via the brand new S Shuttle train platform tunnel and A/C/E 8th Avenue Lines via the old passageway to 42nd Street-Port Authority Bus Terminal Station still do not have in-system ADA compliant access from this station.
