I would give them zero stars if I could. I got a ride from them at JFK and they let me know my ride would be metered like a taxi. My ride home typically is $150 AT THE MOST. I get to my apartment and they tell me it's $300. The worker was extremely rude and then proceeded to add you can tip us too if you want. Never ever ever ride with them!!! Being in my late 80s, I ordered the limo driver to meet me inside at baggage claim at JFK because my wife and I had extra baggage to deal with. I paid $30 extra for that service. Mauriccio failed to show up at baggage claim saying he could not get into the airport because of construction. There was a lot of construction but there were four other limo drivers with signs for their customers. He called and said to meet him outside and that he would be there in 3 minutes. He called again after about 5 minutes saying we were not on the ground floor outside the baggage claim, which we were. He told us to go into the parking garage. We lugged two suitcases, one garment bag, and three under the seat sports bags into the parking garage.We struggled to get our luggage into the parking garage, which was deserted. After a wait of 10 minutes or so, he called to say he couldn't find us and could we send our coordinates on WhatsAPP. I said I did not know how to do that. He again wanted to know where we were. I told him that I had passed Uber pickup spots. He said he would pick us up there. We struggled to get our luggage to the Uber pickup spots. He arrived about 10 minutes later. He stopped blocking traffic and helped to load our luggage. It would have been easier, cheaper, and quicker to use Uber. By this time having stood outside for more than half an hour, we were frozen (It was winter.) Limo Star NY refunded our $30 for failing to pick us up inside but this is the second time we have booked inside pickup and not gotten inside pick up due to 'construction'. but that time it was La Guardia. read more

I booked a trip to NYC to see a play. I got a quote and confirmation. Then two weeks later I get an email from them to book a trip. I replied and told the woman I already had a reservation. We went back and forth emailing. She said there was no reservation under my name. I gave her all my info plus the request no. She said there was no such reservation under my name. I sent her copies of my reservation and the next day that told me "Oh that was cancelled because we don't have a car that day". Are you kidding me?? Limo Star is a great service with reliable drivers. I have trusted them to take my college student to the airport for the last 3 years based on parent recommendations. They have never disappointed me until recently. The only reason I lowered my rating was the customer service via chat/text. They have responded positively via text in the past, but recently, I was very disappointed. I requested the use of their 10% discount code, just $12. Since travel had not occurred, I had hoped to receive the discount as a repeat customer and thought this was a small request. The response I received was curt, bordering on rude and unprofessional. Basically, I was told no to the discount and that I could cancel. I considered canceling both reservations because I usually book a return trip, but I thanked them and moved on. About 15 minutes later, they asked for my confirmation number to cancel the reservation. I thanked them again and moved on. Then I received another message requesting my information for cancellation. I asked to speak with a manager and never heard back. I do not recommend using the chat option that goes directly to text messaging. If you have questions, it's better to call. The people who answer the phone are wonderful. I believe that service-oriented businesses need excellent customer service and repeat customers who recommend them to others. I typically avoid writing negative reviews based on a single bad experience, but I wanted to let the business know that communicating via text can sometimes be a negative experience. Lastly, Limo Star management or owners, please offer discounts to students and parents, as they could become loyal customers. I would recommend this company. read more

I saw this on line and it showed 283 5 star "google reviews" I browsed some of them and booked airport transfers for a 7:30 am flight from JFK. We paid and were supposed to be picked up at 4am. When I booked I was told the driver would text me the evening before and the next morning, I did not get a text the evening before and I contacted the sales office and they assured me it was all set. Guess what- a phone call at 3:30 that the drivers care "broke down" and they could be there an hour later. Being 1 1/2 hrs from the airport this would not work. Limo Star is a scam. They look for ways to charge you extra time in some form. I booked my service at a certain time, knowing there would be delays with my flight and immigration, and they tell me that the reservation time I requested doesn't matter; they base it on the moment the plane lands. They charged me an extra $100 for just 11 real extra minutes of waiting. Plus, they charge you once you're already in the car, practically holding you hostage until you pay; otherwise, they won't take you to your destination. If I could give this place zero stars I would. Unprofessional, late to pick up, rude. There are so many wonderful drivers in this city, stay away from limo star. They still haven't issued me a refund when they were late to pick up and I had to take another car service. Horrible Also, to the owner who commented below. Attached it you confirming a refund. You also neglected to mention that the person who picked us up from the airport, 1) didn't know and hadn't heard of the location of the hotel I was staying at 2) we had never been to LaGuardia before and we didn't know where he was picking my 6 year old and I up from and subsequently got lost. I waited to say anything until both rides were completed. So I suggest you take a look at what policies are and actually deliver on them since you didn't. And as far as being rude I can attach my texts as well. Your driver did not tell me he was going to be late. I do not care about NYc traffic, you run a car service, be on time. Reliable, reasonably priced and accommodating. I hired limo star for my fathers birthday party and needed to shuttle almost a dozen people to and from a restaurant. Surprisingly we were there for a shorter time than I had anticipated, Once I realized that I called the dispatcher and the driver was able to accommodate us and return us back home with no problem. My daughter and I flew to New York to drop her off at college. A parent recommended Limo Star NY and said they were extremely helpful when her child moved into the dorms two weeks earlier. Two women, two suitcases, a duffle, a carry on, and numerous Fresh Direct bags filled with a variety of dorm items, along with a stop at Staples to pick up a mini-fridge definitely required someone special. John, our driver, was outstanding, from loading our bags to unloading our items into the dorm carts, and waiting for us to return for a second round. Very poor experience with this company. Placed a booking, it was accepted, confirmed and payment taken but then hours before they contacted me to say they could not fulfil our requirements even though they had confirmed the reservation. This left us in transit to JFK with no transfer to our hotel. Very disappointed in their service level and attitude dealing with the situation - no apologies offered. Let me explain our side of the situation as you seem not to understand what position you put us in at the start of holiday. I will start from the beginning: I went to your website and selected a car that says it fits 6 people with 6 cases - we are 5 people with 5 cases. There was drop down boxes to select car seats required - I selected 3. There was no mention at this point of being an extra charge for the seats. I also put in the special requirements section mention of the 3 seats required. This reservation was accepted and CONFIRMED by you. We were staying at a hotel near the airport the night before our flight to JFK. I wake up to an email hours before our first connecting flight saying you can not fulfil our CONFIRMED requirements - why confirm if you can't do it? You then proceed to offer an ILLEGAL ride jeopardising the safety of our children should the worst happen. We are not prepared to endanger the life of our children in this way. As a transport company I am surprised you are willing to act in this way. You offered no apologies and no solutions other than an ILLEGAL and DANGEROUS transport into the city. I don't find that acceptable but maybe you do. With no safe option offered by you we had no other option but to cancel the ILLEGAL transfer offered by you. This left me about 20mins to find a replacement transfer before boarding our flight to JFK. Travelling with three young children is challenging enough without having issues like this. read more

Dishonest company! Be careful. Driver was going to be an hour late. Offered to let us cancel without penalty. We called back to cancel, limoStarNY said we had to cancel through limos.com who we made the reservation through. Limos.com had us wait on hold and then said they called LimoStarNY and they said limostarny would not release the charges. So basically they told me they would not charge me if I cancelled and then would not honor that. I will never use them again. They lied about the traffic that was non existent (their reason for being late, there is always traffic going to jfk) and they lied about the charges. We had a decent experience using this company. My sister had Andres pick her up and take her to where we were staying in Staten Island and she raved about him the entire week we were in New York. Come to find out the day we're leaving to head back to JFK that we were all getting Andres as our driver. He is kind, professional and prompt. The problem that I had with the company was that we asked if we could stop on the way at the college to pick up an ID that unfortunately got left in our friends wallet. He said it was no problem at all and we were on our way. Come to find out, we got charged $25 for an extra stop. If we had been informed of this by the driver, we would've said leave it, or would've taken an uber for $8 to get it but instead were blindsided by the charge. It does say that there is this charge for extra stops in the paperwork, however, it's common courtesy to just say something as, "even though that stops really close by, I will have to charge you $25 for an extra stop. Is that ok with you?". I researched and looked through several different companies trying to figure out how to get from Staten Island to JFK in a quick, easy, and affordable manner and Limo Star NY was the best decision at the time. We booked Limostar to take us to and from JFK from Pennsylvania for a family vacation. It was a great experience from beginning to end. Our driver, Justin, arrived at our home on time to pick is up in a Chevy Suburban. He packed our luggage and was a nice guy. For the return trip, our plane arrived 40 minutes early but by the time we picked up our luggage, Justin was waiting for us at the curb. Driving home there was heavy traffic and he found the quickest way home. All in all it was a great experience and we would use this company again. read more

I have used this company three times now. 5 stars for the ease of booking and the drivers. The driver was always on time and very professional. I deducted two stars because of their billing department. When i was booking my second and third trip, there was a problem with the website and it booked the trip without filling in my credit card info. I received an email confirming with the card i previously used which was my debit card. I absolutely did not want to use this card since the last time they charged me and held the same amount of money for a week after my trip. I called twice to give them a credit card and to confirm that they would NOT charge my debit card. They charged my debit card and again the refund took days meanwhile the money was held, exactly what i wanted to avoid. After your trip, you receive a complete billing statement showing toll costs. EVERY time they have overcharged me for tolls. For a round trip into New York from NJ though the tunnel, i was charged $40 in tolls. Really i should have only been charged $11 since the driver had an EZ Pass and the only toll is going into the city. They explained their base in in New York so the drive had to drive back into NY after he dropped us off in NJ which is fine so $22.00 total. How do you accidentally charge me double? I'm sure most people don't notice but if you use this company be sure to scrutinize the billing statement! I was eventually refunded after going back and forth with the billing department. Called to request a quote...received our confirmation...driver was on time...however was sent a different vehicle than what was on our reservation...then a day later was charged additional toll fees...which we would have assumed to have been in our original quote since there was only 1 way to get to NWK Airport...tried to speak will billing & a manager who just kept repeating themselves about their terms and conditions which state that additional fees could be charged for tolls...basically we could have went with another service for cheaper where the tolls & gratuity were included...we tried to recommend that for future customers to include at least an average of the toll to the quote which they did not want to hear...overall very poor customer service...would not recommend this service to anyone...the customer is not right on this case...and we've heard most ppl out New York are not friendly...this just confirmed the saying!!! read more
