This is a large thrift store right at the intersection of Warden and Eglinton in the same plaza as…read morethe Merchant's Flea Market. The parking lot was quite busy and a bit chaotic when I went. The donation area is on the south side and just to the right of the entrance. When dropping off items, the staff will ask if you want a 20% off coupon. The store is large with two main sections. Housewares, furniture, electronics, books, vinyl records, and CDs at the front. Then there is children's, men's, and women's clothing. Even further into the store, there is more women's clothing. Prices are very reasonable, and the items are generally in good condition. At the Kennedy store, the electronic section has power bars to test if the electronic items work. I didn't see it at this location. Glass display cases near the front have designer brand items like purses and high-heeled shoes.

I recently visited The Salvation Army Thrift Store at 1921 Eglinton Ave E (Unit 7) in Scarborough,…read moreand I was pleasantly surprised by the variety and organization of the store. The layout is easy to navigate, with clearly marked sections for clothing, housewares, books, and electronics. Inventory changes frequently, so it's worth checking back often. Ms. Zeta were courteous and helpful, though service can vary depending who is attending you at the store. Prices are generally fair, especially for clothing and small household items, though some customers might find certain items a bit overpriced compared to other thrift stores. I appreciated Zeta when I asked for a discount and she gave me a coupon that had a 20% discount for first time buyer. I was happy and appreciated her for this and it made my decision so much easier. Overall, Zeta should be recognized for her great customer service and for managing the sale appropriately making my decision to buy the two items easier with the discount. Robert N. Sometimes they take a few hours to go through your stuff depending on volume of people. You can leave or shop around while you wait. Shopping here is interesting. It really illustrates how sizes can differ between brands because there's stuff in large that fit a small person, and vice versa. The store itself is usually organized best they can. A few time though, I did want to purchase something and it had tears or rips in them. But they were being sold at the same or higher price than other pieces of similar style. While I understand the idea is that these are pre-owned, I think they need to maybe review the seams a lot closer before hanging up for sale. It's a bit disappointing to think you found something great at a good value, only to realize it's damaged and you can't really justify getting it.

I came across this store and found out they have multiple locations around GTA. So I went to this location, they had a lot of second hand items available. They take brand name items. They don't just take clothes, they also take hand bags, wallets and accessories. You would simply just need to tell them you're looking to sell. You will need to provide your phone number and a piece of photo I.D. They will send you a text once they have gone through the items. Just be mindful that they don't take everything. They can be very picky too. Sometimes I would bring in a bag of clothes and leave with not being able to sell any of it. It really depends on what they need as they had explained to me before they don't want to over stock on stuff they already have or they don't need for the season. So far, I've sold to them 5-6 times and got back about $30-$40 total. It's certainly not a lot of money but to me it's still something. Before I donate the items, I might as well bring them here and give it a shot to see if I could get back a few dollars here and there.

This is a small location and far away, I went for the first time and it will also be the last, for sure. I haven't found anything in womens or mens clothes and accessories. Two stars because I have seen even a smaller location and because prices seem to be okayish I guess. A necessary caveat - I am not a person in need, just a hobby thrifter writing a review from a hobby thrifter's perspective and point of view. For those in need, every location will be good, they even charge no tax which is cool. For us others, I'd rather pay tax and more $ to actually find anything :) this was a miss but if you do live nearby or pass by, those 15mins needed to look through it all won't kill you :)

Second, it's less busy, much smaller and cuter. They don't have as much new stuff at this location but I have found so many gems (including my faux fur coat and psychedelic tights holllaaa) that I just keep coming back. That and they always have some kind of special - either 1 dollar pants/shirts/pillows/etc or 50% off blue tags or yellow tags, or something. Anyway, it's fun and if you're scared that your clothes/jewelry may have belonged to a once alive grandmother - don't go here. hehe.

In the aisles, the items were organized based on what they were while the at the ends of the aisles (the side near the clothing) were organized by colour. The prices seemed to be lower than the couple of thrift stores I have been to. They don't calculate taxes on what you are getting so if you spend $5, you will pay $5 which was a shock to me (in a good way). I will probably here many more time in the future. I would totally recommend coming here.

*Rating only for the Donation Centre*…read more The Donation Centre at this Goodwill location is great! This plaza gets pretty busy and parking seemed to be packed but if you're looking for the Donation Centre, it is located on the right side, where there is additional parking. There is also a curbside area with signage directing you to pull up to for drop-offs, there's no need to park. At a glance, the Donation Centre looks to be very clean and organized. There is a large door open on the side of the building for donation drop-offs. We were told to leave our donations in the doorway, and the staff will later retrieve and sort through them. They operate with contactless donations - how convenient! Goodwill works with organizations that provide assistance to those with barriers seeking employment and upgrading their skills. What doesn't get sold in their stores, gets rotated to other locations, to Goodwill outlets, then sent to textile factories to be upcycled and repurposed. If you're looking to donate your items, please support non-profit places like Goodwill, rather than for-profit businesses in the area like Value Village and Talize.

It's in the far corner of the plaza off the northeast corner of Weston Rd and Hwy 7. It does have ample parking. I've made use of it both as a shopper, and a donater. It serves its purpose, usually. I can't speak to how large it is compared to other locations, but it is about as large as an average Costco, and looks like one. It's a pretty bare bones warehouse full of all kinds of housewares, clothing, books, seasonal items, and even watches and jewellery. I've made a few successful trips over the years. The selection of kitchen wares, clothing, and books in particular have been very good finds. I've managed to find cooking implements for extremely low prices, many of them long ago, which I still use to this day. The clothing seems a little more costly, but still good bargains. Browsing the aisles reminds me a lot of shopping at Winners, but not as bright and shiny. But the racks and racks of clothes are arranged and of such an array as reminds me of a Winners experience, where you need to dig amongst all the odds and ends. When it comes to Christmas and Halloween, you can score a lot of great finds at bargain prices, including brand new items such as wigs and kids' costumes. I've heard a lot of negative press lately about Value Village jacking up prices on new, resale items from dollar stores. I haven't yet experienced this myself, but I will certainly keep my eye out on my next trip. Check the bottoms of items for original stickers that will tell you whether overcharging. All in all, I've been glad to have successful trips, and will certainly return when I'm up for my next thrift haul.
