This is one of my more favorite value villages, they always have a good selection and variety. They are a little over priced and sometimes not even in the ball park. This Value Village is the closest location to my house and it's my GO TO when I'm doing kid bedroom cleanouts or garage cleanouts! I've donated here more times than I can count which I appreciate so much because if you're a parent, you know how fast the clutter accumulates. The donation process is super easy and there's literally almost never a line. The staff that I've encountered during my drop offs have always been really nice and they always offer you a 20% off coupon to use in the store just for donating. I've gone inside a couple times as well - who doesn't love to thrift, let's be real? They always have a ton of cool holiday knick knacks and serving dishes which are awesome if you have upcoming parties that you don't want to buy all brand new (cough cough, full price) stuff for. I do wish their kid's clothing section was a little better. Kids grow like weeds and it's nice to pick up lightly used play clothes every once in a while, but their selection here is sort of dismal for that. I used to own a shift store. And I think vallue village is price gouging. They only reduce the price slightly on used items from new item prices. They probably get most of their items for free as I did. That's why I say they are price gouging. Cuz their profit margin is probably greater than the corperate stores like Walmart honestly, I could probably get a better price at Walmart than vallue village for brand new cloths. Thrift stores were ment to be the place to go when youre broke but u still need cloths. They were ment to be more affordable. One because shit is used. And 2 because the price will be lower because it's used. I say until used thrift stores start Lowering the prices, go to garage sales!!!!!!!!!! Used to love going here. Went yesterday and pretty much every item is 3 times the price of any other value village. Most of the clothing is higher than what you could find new at a store. And $4.99 for old vinyl albums is insane compared to the $1.99 all the other locations sell them for. Won't be visiting this location again even though I drive by it daily on the way home. read more

I absolutely love Value Village, but maybe I'm biased because I worked there. The amount of cool, random little knick knacks I saw on the shelves all the time was shocking, and the pricing was fantastic on most items. The only reason I ever went home with money when I worked there was because we had to wait 3 days after something was put on the shelves before we could buy it as an employee. The workers are so fun and upbeat (I can vouch for that one personally), and the atmosphere in the store is always great. The only thing thing that ever sucks is the amount of rude middle aged people that come in and ruin the whole experience for everyone else. Totally bums the whole store out. read more

As a fan of Thrift Shopping, there is no shortage of options in the PNW. But Value Village is my favorite. Prices are great! I got a pair of old navy shorts, a lands end flannel and a pair of Old Navy jeans for $16. Their stores are organized well and I like the self checkout option too. This is my first experience donating to this value Village. I am in the line to donate items which starts as you pull into the parking lot and snakes around to the front of the store. It's really unbelievable how agonizingly slow this is. I have waited for 40 min. So far and there are still 4 vehicles in front of me. I'm a little shocked at this because I donated at another Value Village and I was out of there in less than 10 min. They were busy as well. Maybe there isn't enough staff here. I'm not sure. But I won't be wasting my time in this line. If you value your time, go somewhere else to donate. read more

Not A Value at all! I and my family have visited Value Village several times looking for specific items. Everything there, accept maybe the furniture, is WAY overpriced! All their clothes are priced way more than they should be, better off shopping for clearance clothing at Walmart. The only way that you get any type of 'value' is if you use a discount, which you have to get by bringing donated items in. They have a lot of items to select from, which I would love to buy, but not at their inflated prices. This place should be called 'No Value Village!' read more

I stopped in to see if I could find some home décor items after I moved here from the Spokane area. I found the items to be overpriced including a framed print that I ended up getting because I just wanted to be done with setting up my new place. On the back, the new price tag for the print was still there from Bed, Bath and Beyond - and Value Village charged more for it used than it was new. Ended up with $80 worth of stuff and headed for the door where I was stopped by an employee informing me that I couldn't take the cart out of the store. I had found it in the parking lot next to the handicapped stall I parked in and used it to lean on to get into the store. I explained to their employee that I was a disabled veteran, pointed to my car in the first handicapped stall and explained that I had lost my legs (not literally, just occasionally they stop working) and I needed the cart to not fall. "Sorry, don't know what to tell you." I then asked if someone could carry my items for me at least. "Nope, sorry." Then I asked if they could watch my cart while I tried to make it across the street, drive the car across the lane and park in front of the store. "We can't be responsible for your things." Without any options, I left my things, made it across the lane falling twice, got in my car and parked ten feet away from my cart. I was spent and couldn't make it even the ten feet. I asked the guy accepting donations if he could please help. He was never more than six feet away from me but I asked five times before he responded telling me, "I can't, I got to do this." As far as I'm concerned, I was considered to be less valuable than the over-priced second hand merchandise they sell. read more

The prices are quite high here. Sometimes if you really dig you can find one thing but 9 times out of ten it is not worth the gas to drive here. I am sad to say I have found cheaper prices at the actual mall than this thrift store. Forget it if your a regular person trying to save money on clothing or even home stuff. read more

Been coming here for several years and it's hard not to leave with something in your hand. Like the other review mentioned, this place has new stuff out every day, so if you're driving by and have some time to kill, it's worth it to swing in, even if you were in the day before. Monday's are the big sale days if I remember correctly, so be careful as it's VERY busy and very annoying if you're just going in to browse as you it seems like many of the people in their are out for blood. Also seems like they have tag sales, but somehow it works out that anything you want, will never be the tag for that current sale. They must have little elves change each and every tag the night before, it's weird, but it works out that way far too often! read more

This is my favorite value village because I feel like they have higher quality items than other value villages I've been to. There are a lot of name brand clothes here, which is why the clothes are a little higher in price I'm guessing. The place is pretty clean and doesn't have that weird thrift store smell to it. Usually the aisles are clean and organized, and workers coming through every now and then picking up. The dressing rooms are also very clean. They have a donation drop off right on the side of the building, and all you have to do is drive up and hand over your stuff. They NO LONGER give you plastic bags for your stuff you buy. I think you can buy some but I usually just make sure I have a reusable bag with me. The workers here are all very rude! Each time I come here I have hope that someone will be polite or nicer this time but every time I'm disappointed and leave a little irritated. Usually there is only one register open. And they don't hesitate to rudely tell you where the line is and where you need to stand. When you get up to the cash registers they don't make small talk, instead they start scanning your items fast and then asking rudely if you are going to carry your stuff out because they don't have bags. They sometimes ask if you are a part of their loyalty club. Which is just your phone number now and not a card anymore as I so rudely found out. I don't mind no small talk but I don't appreciate being stared at and talked to rudely. Maybe they should find different jobs if they don't have the skills for customer service. read more

So..... I went here today, and we've been before....... haven't been in a while..... today was ok ... found a couple things i liked... like literally two items. I went to get in line and there were only three cashiers. but several workers just standing around, just staring off in to space. any ways, I was waiting in line for like ten minutes, then when it was FINALLY my turn, the cashier asked me "are you paying with credit card or cash?" I told her "no I am paying with my debit card" then she told me that she can not except debit cards at this time. Why didn't she have a sign up? or at least announce that when people got in line!?!!? eerrrrrr made me so so so mad! I really just wanted to throw my stuff down and walk out, but I had been to a few other thrift stores that day and finally found a storage tub that i was looking for........for stray cats on my property- a shelter :) .....any way, they should train better customer service......this was freakin' ridiculous!!!! read more

This is an enormous favorite thrift shop of mine. There isn't enough good things to say about this place. A large selection of awesome finds in virtually all sections. Plenty of your run of the mill thrift store items but they have an equal amount of The inventory rotates kinda fast, which I find enjoyable. The prices are also great. I would say a $$ out of $$$$, most of the time. They have plenty of regular daily deals. Some deal days are regular, (senior citizens, military, etc). They have a usual club membership that earns you points for a discount. The cleanliness level is good and there's virtually no scatter messes/misplaced items. The prices are clearly marked. The store is about the size of an average Goodwill. Easy to navigate. Good customer service. read more

Update: first of all, I think I'm reviewing the wrong Value Village. The one we go to is on 19th st in Tacoma near the McDonalds. Sorry about that. Second, I"m changing my rating to 4 stars b/c the last few times I"ve gone, I've found so many good things and it's been so affordable - 50% off days on most holidays is amazing. You do have to be patient. I will reiterate that. So be prepared and find some treasures.... ----- I lived in places where Value Village is also known as "Savers," which is where I purchased about 75% of everything I own in clothing and housewares back in the midwest. This Value Village is not as a good as my old Savers but it does have very affordable simple stuff that I hate buying for full price. For example, because we just moved to the area, we need odds and ends that can really add up. A dish-rack to dry dishes after washing, hand soap dispensers, small trash cans, and other random housewares. I found many of these items, most for under 3 bucks. And there are often random days where certain tags are on sale and it's even cheaper. The furniture section is very small, which is disappointing, but I did score an amazing vintage wood file cabinet for 25 bucks (I've seen similar for 100 bucks or more) that I stripped and refinished and LOVE. Staff was friendly and helpful. As we all know, thrift stores are hit and miss- and that is certainly true for this place. Don't expect to find the perfect anything. You have to be open to finding what is there and be willing to go back, but with that said, I've been there 2x and found things I needed for cheap. I'll go back for sure. read more

My expectations are that if you have received items for free pricing items at sometimes almost $300 dollars is a bit immoral. What a find! And they are very friendly. Fall is upon us, weather getting colder, I needed a 'new' jacket to use when I feed the goats and chickens. It was around Halloween, I stopped to check them out. Large store, organized, clean and packed with treasures. Found the perfect coat, $12.99! fuzzy lined, quilted exterior, almost like new. They've most definitely sky rocketed in the past few years to almost retail. Goodwill has always stayed solid with the prices because they are not a for profit company like VV. I almost never post anything negative but my experience with the Value Village of Puyallup compels me to say something. I went to this store to find some home decor items. As I entered the building I found myself immersed in a funk of indescribable horror. It was that knee buckling, eye watering stench which lays bare a man's soul. All thought of shopping was erased from my consciousness as the sour smell of the room overwhelmed me, sending me into a downward spiral of nauseous despair. The room was literally saturated with an unnatural mix of body odor and human waste. As i made my way to the door the manageress, her name is Brittany, blocked my path demanding to know if I had passed gas in her store! Through the fog of incredulity I stammered out that the foul odor could not possibly be the product of just one man. She insisted that I was the source of this putrid befoulment as other shoppers looked on in shock and dismay. I have never been so humiliated. The Value Village of Puyallup is a "No Go Zone" for this man from here on out. Please beware of the management as they seem to have a rather callous disregard for the sensitivities of their patrons. read more

This store is more organized than the VV in south Tacoma and their staff is nice. Like with other Value Village stores, this is a for-profit enterprise. They donate to charities, but they also make a tidy profit. But the store is so clean and well-organized, it's almost like shopping retail. And make sure you bring something to donate and ask for your 20% off coupon. The clothes here are pretty good, and we often leave with bags of stuff from automotive and tools, clothes, kitchen, and linens. read more

I am happy with their club card, I always put their specific sales in my calendar. I do feel like some of their clothes are way overpriced, that is the reason I knocked a star off. I read reviews before I came that said this place was over priced. But I've read thrift store reviews that said that in the past, and the prices were fair. Customer service was pleasant enough. The girl who rang up my items was very nice and accommodating to the customers standing in line. Unfortunately, I should have just followed the previous reviews. This is the most over priced thrift store I've been to in years. Crappy, stained, clothing were marked OVER what they would cost brand new. Selection was poor. I would have dropped a lot of cash here, if the prices were fair. They weren't even reasonable. I bought three items that I had to scour to find and talk myself into buying. I won't return. There are plenty of other thrift stores that price their items fairly. This is a for profit thrift store! At least I can feel decent about buying from goodwill. Whoever does the pricing here, should lose their job. Seriously....or share whatever they are smoking. Because they must live in some kind of alternate reality. read more

I will give it to them that the store is clean and well organized, aside from that their prices are absolutely ridiculous. I think they have forgotten that they are a secondhand store. The clothes were all over the board price wise. Everything from $5.99 for a very worn Wal-Mart t-shirt to $4.99 for a new Ann Taylor Loft shirt, doesn't make much sense. I also thought that the toys were pretty pricey considering they were missing pieces (not at all unusual for a thrift store) We just moved to Puyallup and I was really hoping to find a great thrift store full of great finds.
