I'm just not a big fan of the sift-n-go dump bin pay-by-the-pound Goodwills. I usually feel extremely dirty after sifting through junk that hasn't been processed. The Goodwill stores that actually process the goods before putting them on the shelf saves me from the guesswork of the dump bin outlets. I know that some people like just going no holds barred into bins of "gently used items" but I am always a little hesitant that I'll get cut or sliced by any of the variety of items within the bins. There is also a lot of dirty shoes and appliances I always leave with my hands covered in muck. Good to have baby wipes in the car or wash your hands asap after leaving. On a positive note, there is a lot of variety and you really don't know what is all in the bins which can be fun to some people. They also have a reasonable furniture selection. These outlet stores are really only good if you find a lot of good items as you pay by the pound and the more pounds you get the lower the price is per pound. It's not good for people like me who don't shop Goodwill in bulk and just want one or two items. Also even the aisleways are really big, it still seems hard to get down the aisle with carts to one side and then people hunched over sifting on the other. So you have to weave in/out the gauntlet to just find an open spot which is exasperating in itself.

I consider myself a hard core thrifter. I'm not above digging through used stuff to find a diamond in the rough. One of my first jobs was working in a thrift shop. I've also worked in a consignment store as well so I think I have a good eye for checking clothes. The bins are not your traditional thrifting experience. The great thing about the bins is items are for sale for a bulk weight price. No items are priced individually. I would recommend bringing gloves. I was shocked by the many blood stained items that I came across. I didn't bring gloves. The lighting was odd and dim and a bit flickery which made checking items for stains, fading and discoloration challenging. There was a petite young blonde gal working there with a voice like an air horn constantly berating and yelling into the crowd about unattended carts saying she'd "throw it all back" and bellowing for everyone to get to the front of the store because they would be closing in 45 minutes. She carried on that way right up until close. Between her god awful voice, poor lighting and just the overwhelming nature of the bins themselves I left feeling pretty bummed out. I found a few shirts and spent less than 5 bucks so the value was quite good. After visiting the bins, pretty much just upon entering the goodwill outlet I felt like I needed to go home and take a thousand showers. I thought I was hardcore because in the past, working consignment I've sorted through the nastiest pee/ smoke smelling trash-bags full of clothes Tacoma has to offer. It's unreal what people will bring in thinking they can sell. It turns out I'm not as hard core as I thought though because I was completely intimidated by the bins. I definitely think it's possible to find great deals there if you have plenty of time to spare and don't mind getting down and dirty picking but I also completely respect and understand those who'd rather leave the digging to someone else and would rather purchase the same stuff at a bit of a markup on the Poshmark App a while later.

Also if you are a fabulous 55 year retro youth then you can save more on Tuesday. Be prepared for a fleet of Retro youngsters lol ! They are nearly waiting like it is a famous Rock band coming into town . And the colors on the price tags save you money too but each time there is a color of the day that is 50% off. You can stack with coupons to save more. This store does not carry junk things. But I do examine for tears, missing buttons or zippers. And examine for stains because that stain may be permanent. I keep a stock of Tide and Lysol for my precious treasures. After a good wash it looks good as new. I have recently bought some heavy bedding sheets and pillow shams. I bought my son and I some of those lounging or gaming attire lol. I find some of my shirts with funny sayings! Again we have about 20 minutes to sweep through. No there, is no public restrooms. As you read my reviews I will note this. So you may want to use the restroom before looking for hidden treasure. So far McDonald's near there does have restroom without restrictions. So I buy an item for that gesture. Otherwise use the bathroom before you go in there. In this thrift store be ready to use self checkouts with a friendly worker watching you and being there to assist . There is a cash only self checkout and card only. They do not like customers bringing in any Backpacks or very large bags, so do not do it. You do have to bring your own bags. And they sell cute reusable bag for $1.99. It is very strong. We bought our famous bag for our treasures and as a souvenir. We thrift pretty regularly as our youngest son is growing so fast but I save more because I get his hand me downs. I do not have a problem. With good laundry tricks, clothes can remain looking good. If I take a photo of everything it would be too much. As he grows out of things, I keep what fits me well. Those things I keep are funny T-shirts, lounging pants or jackets. This place has a good assortment of clothing. I shop in teens section because it is usually a bit cheaper. I have bought all us each of laptop bags for very cheap too. I can not emphasize how this thrift store sells very quality gently used clothes. I am not ashamed about thrifting because it truly saves money. I recommend this place. There is something for anyone. Hey if you have a big truck , then you can find furniture very cheap and in very good shape. I saw a big bedroom dresser with all the drawers for about close to $5. You have to be one of those frequent shoppers if you need stuff like that. I can talk about this place all day . I love this place. I have fun here.

It's Goodwill so what does one really expect? Lots of people seem to get drawn to stores like this…read moreand somehow cobble together good looks for their wardrobe. I don't know how long they may be going through the clothes and formulating the outfits in their mind but some pull it off really well. For me more often than not it doesn't go that way. More specifically with this particular store they always accept the clothes I give for donation. It's almost always clothes I can't fit into and unlikely I ever will again. As a customer the first time here was frustrating. Returns aren't likely to happen but Steve bought a pair of shoes here and both shoes were for the left foot. The folks acknowledged the situation but wouldn't give a refund. So watch out for stuff like that. After a long absence as a shopper here after that we came here and bought some pieces of luggage for some upcoming longer trips we will be doing in the next year or two. Nothing seems amiss with the luggage so I think that transaction and the items will meet their purpose. However if a bad turn comes of an unusual sort with the luggage we bought here that may be relevant to Goodwill I'll post an update but it's unlikely.

But, otherwise, I would recommend Ross, Marshalls, tj max, or Burlington. They're all discounted shops that are comparable to the goodwill prices, but they're new. Eg. Ross had a painting for similar size around 25$. This painting is $20. You can find unique items here though.
