It's Goodwill so what does one really expect? Lots of people seem to get drawn to stores like this and somehow cobble together good looks for their wardrobe. I don't know how long they may be going through the clothes and formulating the outfits in their mind but some pull it off really well. For me more often than not it doesn't go that way. More specifically with this particular store they always accept the clothes I give for donation. It's almost always clothes I can't fit into and unlikely I ever will again. As a customer the first time here was frustrating. Returns aren't likely to happen but Steve bought a pair of shoes here and both shoes were for the left foot. The folks acknowledged the situation but wouldn't give a refund. So watch out for stuff like that. After a long absence as a shopper here after that we came here and bought some pieces of luggage for some upcoming longer trips we will be doing in the next year or two. Nothing seems amiss with the luggage so I think that transaction and the items will meet their purpose. However if a bad turn comes of an unusual sort with the luggage we bought here that may be relevant to Goodwill I'll post an update but it's unlikely. read more

Honestly -- for a good will, this was mediocre. It was not uncommon to see clothes on the floor. They do have occasional good deals like 50% off for green tags or pink tags are 1.99$. But, otherwise, I would recommend Ross, Marshalls, tj max, or Burlington. They're all discounted shops that are comparable to the goodwill prices, but they're new. Eg. Ross had a painting for similar size around 25$. This painting is $20. You can find unique items here though. read more

This is a great Goodwill! It's huge. Tons of stuff. Nicely organized. My only complaint about the Goodwill is that we went to another thrift store down the street that had a little more trendy styles and they were about the same price. read more

This good will double charged me because their computer crashed after I had paid using my pic. I showed them that my card had already been fully charged, because their pin pad said approved, but they made me pay again and told me I had to call my bank to dispute the charges. Bank says that it's going to take up to 90 days for the investigation. Goodwill should have been able to run a report on their credit card services showing that I already paid but they copped out and stuck me with a double bill. Not everyone has an extra 40 bucks to waste sitting in limbo. read more

It's a good size Goodwill in a sketchy area. The best part about this location is they are next door to Harvest Buffet, so if you have to wait for a table during a rush, you can go shopping here to kill time. However, there's a sign on the door of Harvest Buffet that says you should leave nothing in your car and they will take care of your things if you bring them in. That's a very considerate way to protect your customers from smash and grabs, but it does make one worry. Because this parking lot is shared by Goodwills, Harvest, and a crab pot place, parking is tough. read more

Just had a terrible interaction with an employee here. She claimed there was no fitting rooms because of Covid, and when I said it made no sense, she said she didn't want to bring it home to her 60 something year old dad. She wasn't wearing a mask and works at a place that sells donated clothing as is (they don't wash it.) She refused to give me her name, but her coworker that rang me up for some CDs was nice (Lataya). They have moved to self check out, so hopefully that person will be out of a job shortly. Their return policy is trash (7 days, store credit.) Not to mention all of their stuff is super overpriced, might as well go buy them new elsewhere. read more

Donation guy was way too picky. I stopped through to donate and he's a bunch old business inventory. Lots of great items some new in the package. He looks at one item at says this stuff is too dirty. I've been to many Goodwills and although this one didn't have the ideal parking lot and had empty looking shops next to it, the inside was clean, well organized and there was a good selection of things. The only area that could use some picking up was the far left back corner where they had a hodgepodge of Easter stuff and electronics. That was very cluttered, but had lots of great stuff! I ended up finding a beautiful blanket, a hand made ceramic container, tons of toddler clothes, a good amount of books and some educational kid's toys. Oh! And a sweet little exhausted bear. I am a thrift store junkie and go thrift store shopping at least once a week. I especially like the color tagged sales and can find some unique things every time I go. The best days to go are the days they change the colored tags on sale. However, there are always things you can get at a reasonably low price. Over the past few years Goodwill have increased their prices significantly. Some clothing items sell for the same price as if they were new. It detours people from looking at some point. No one wants to rummage through different items when they are all too much to buy anyway. People lose interest and sales go down because of it. Yes, they need to profit from what they sell but anything is profit on their used items. They could sell more of what they have at a lower price to get product to move/change more often. The more these prices raise, the less people who thrift are likely to come in. Is that extra dollar per item worth the amount of business lost? read more

I'd already been having a bad day when i drove up to this location to drop off some clothing. i was the only car there, i got out of the car and approached the door with two garbage bags of clothes. i stood there for a few seconds watching one of the guys continue to work. I received no acknowledgement even though the guy looked at me twice. He proceeded to throw some boxes off to the side and came to get my items right before i was ready to chuck them off to the side and leave. After he snatched the bags out of my hands, he continued to act like I was bothering him just by being there. I don't know how I missed this Goodwill before. I went straight to the mens section looking for shorts. While I was somewhat miffed at the fact there is no size organization like most thrift stores or any store at that, there was quite a selection. I mean all the clothes are just crammed in the racks in no specific order. Normally I don't like to dig too much when it's not organized. And between the pants, jeans, shorts, actually all the parts of the men's section I didn't find a piece of clothes more than $8.99. This is really good, especially on the double tag days & that's why I continued to dig. There was a lot of furniture and knick knacks and housewares. I went for a wet/dry vac, which I didn't find but I did find a lot of super deals overall. The cashier was really sweet and friendly even though it kind of wakes you up every time she would yell "Good morning!!"every time someone walked in the door. There really isn't anything else of value in this shopping center though. Probably why I've never been here until now. read more

I always buy ties here and it's very unfortunate that they keep putting price tags through the tie it self especially when the prices are now higher then they were before. I called to talk with a manager which was Pattie. She was not very helpful but sent me over to her assistant manager Rachel which was very helpful. The electronic area is very small now (sucks), hopefully they make it back bigger. The store is organized and clean. Don't know about the bathrooms. And if you want to try on something be sure to get there early because they close the fitting rooms super early. read more

This Goodwill is practically the size of a Target. Of course with most places that sell used stuff, you have to pick through some items to find the gems. My sister and I were really impressed with the amount (and price) of vintage dish sets and Corningware. You could make a killing selling this stuff on Etsy! The furniture section left little to be desired. No collectible pieces. Didn't rifle through the clothes but they had tons and tons. I had spent the entire afternoon in Tacoma and this was our last stop before driving back to Seattle. Not able to ... err... hold it, I needed to take a break from shopping to use the ladies room. It was SUPER clean! Such a nice surprise. Definitely the highlight of the trip to this store. read more

I used to donate to this location fairly regularly. The last time I went they wouldn't take a chair because I only had one! It was a Crate and Barrel chair in good condition. They wouldn't take IKEA outdoor seat cushions that were barely used because I didn't have chairs with them. I bought them separately! They have ties so they can be used on any patio chair. I don't really understand their reasoning. I make sure to only donate items that are in good shape. I guess I need to find somewhere else to donate. read more

No "clean treat or repair" donations accepted. Last time they refused an entire collection of new glass candle lanterns - still in the retail boxes - because there was dust on the tops of the boxes. (excess wedding biz inventory) So I grabbed a microfiber dusting cloth out of my van, dusted off the tops of the boxes for her, and then they accepted it. Here I am trying to donate $500-1000 worth of inventory and they are making me dust it off before they will accept it. Or they refuse 75% of what I'm bringing them. I'm DONE. This has happened the last 3 times I've tried to donate things from my wedding business. Dusty books? Nope. New unopened packages of diapers? Nope. New items, packed into an old dusty box? Nope. A working fan that hasn't been used for 2 years? Refused. And then she has the cojones to shame me for taking it to the landfill (you should take and donate _____ at _____, and take _____ over to _____ - they need those there) Like I have hours and hours to run everything all over town to be more "green" and keep it out of the landfill - no, that's why I came to Goodwill!! They use to give people jobs - repairing things, cleaning them up for resale - not anymore. Not sure where I'm going to donate things, but not there. read more

We drove up to the donation drop-off, with two boxes of wonderful items. The employees were very slow and did not acknowledge us, though we were the only car. They looked through the box the previous car had dropped off before taking our items, and expressed no gratitude whatsoever. This is the BIG Goodwill in Tacoma (although, to my surprise, the map shows a handful of them in the Tacoma metro area). If you're thrifting in Tacoma, this is probably the one to start off with. The store is quite large with big departments, especially housewares and books. During October, they have a pretty good Halloween costume shop as well, combining secondhand costumes and garments with new accessories and makeup, so you can easily put together a whole costume here. I've always found it to be pretty clean and well-organized, although for whatever reason, I usually don't seem to find any treasures here. But it's worth a visit, especially if you're looking for glassware, dishes, and kitchenware. read more

It so disrespectful to the customers...I am a caregiver of an old lady, diabetic, she needs to use restroom pretty often and is very shameful for this store to not take care of elderly and let them use restroom freely...Please make the restrooms be open again. I've been coming to this Goodwill for years and multiple times a week (I buy a ton of books because I work with students, I am a student, and I love books. Today I was yelled at and harassed while standing in the checkout and exiting the store after making my purchase. The man on duty named "Francis" became verbally aggressive--yelled at me and told me I'm a horrible and ugly human being because I asked for his name to make a report. This staff member made me feel very unsafe. I've never been treated as badly any where else by customer service in my entire life. It was a traumatic, stressful, and horrible experience! All this happened because I mentioned that it was only 6:45 pm not 6:55. I love shopping at the Goodwill but this person made my experience horrifying. Another customer witnessed his behavior and gave me his number as a witness if needed. When I came back to get his name to file a report he yelled at me and told me not to come back. Please dismiss anyone who treats loyal and happy customers this way. If he is a manager he is abusing his power and abusing others in the process. read more

Goodwill just completely lost all my business and donations. I have a medical condition and don't wear a mask or any other kind of face covering but I wear a little badge that says I have a medical condition. I was in the store with 2 of my boys shopping for about 30 or so minutes without a mask like I have done other times before. I'm getting ready to leave and all of a sudden get harassed for not wearing a mask by one of the employees. She ended up calling someoneelse to come over and harass me too. I go to thrift stores at least once a week, so this is familiar territory for me. Goodwill on 38th has a pretty good selection, especially if you're looking for something specific. Strong points: fair-sized kitchen section, a wide variety of women's clothes, and a pretty good selection in furniture. Weak points: extremely poorly organized women's pants (they are in sections of S, M, and L, but be forewarned that these sections mean nothing--you need to search all pants), linens are hit or miss, and books and DVDs/VHS cassettes are overpriced. Tips: seek out the color of tag that's 50% off--some of Goodwill's clothes can be expensive otherwise. If something is not priced, ask and they will help. The staff is very nice. read more

It's a large store- but thats pretty much all it has going for it. Not a fan, but since it's so close to work I come here to see if I can find lil odds and ends. My biggest gripe is that unlike other Goodwills I have frequented- their children and infant sections are NOT divided my size, rather grouped together by likeness and color. I love to dig for a great deal - who doesn't- I however do NOT like digging in rack after rack trying to determine the sizing! read more

HUGE, is the first word that comes to mind when I walk in but at first glance it appears to be just racks and racks and more racks of clothing.... ugh, it would take hours to sort through them, though labeled, they were packed! The rear of the building is were you would go to look for the goodies such as household items, electronics, furniture etc. I'm not sure on how things get put on the shelves but the couple of times I have been, it real slim pickings! I've only had luck once coming here for something I have looked for, but if you can stand the smell of thrift stores, you could find what you are looking for here I'm sure. read more

The store is a little smaller than the Bellevue Goodwill. The selection is limited. But you never know what great deals you'll find here. The great thing about this place is the people that work here. They are really nice and happy to see people give back to the community. Parking is never an issue. read more

I'd give this store a -5 star if possible. Not allowed to try on clothes, ok - I can deal with that. Clothes are returnable. What they don't say till you try to return is that they only give store credit. Absolutely no way to avoid purchasing items that don't fit and no way to get your money back. read more

Shop at this store AT YOUR OWN RISK! My blender disintegrated, so I headed to Goodwill to find an economical replacement. I found one that appeared to be satisfactory for $18.99 -- the most expensive one available, figuring I'd rather pay a bit more in order to get a quality used one. I got it home, took it apart to clean it up before using it. The rubber sealing ring was absolutely filthy, so OK I washed it up and in the process took off the little green price tags. I reassembled it, put in then ingredients for a smoothie and turned it on. Even though it was not overfilled, and the cap was firmly in place it leaked my smoothie all over the kitchen counter. To make a long story short, the manager ("Yvonne") refused to exchange it because I could not find my receipt. Finally I did locate the receipt, made a second trip back to exchange it, but this Yvonne had left word not to exchange it! (BTW I was polite and civil throughout this whole ordeal.) The excuse this time was that the green price tags were missing! Now I am stuck with a defective blender and out $18.99! Don't expect to find much good will at "Goodwill." BTW I found a brand new Oster at Penny's for $26.00. And they were really friendly! read more

Goodwill has become so expensive. You get the clothes donated for one, and then you sell them for a price you'd pay new! They even had a skirt from walmart, tag still on and it said 5.99, BUT goodwill had a sticker above it that read 7.99. How in the frick Are you going to try and sell it for more then what walmart wanted. Seriously???
