Value Village - Thrift Stores Near Me - Niagara Falls, Ontario

I know Niagara Falls is basically a tourist trap, but it does have one redeemable quality, it's Value Village. First off, it's huge. It's filled with tons of stuff, but mostly clothes. Oh, and a great selection of shoes. Now I know shoes can seem a little daunting second hand, but a lot of the time I find shoes here that look as though they were never worn, and they probably weren't, that's why they're here. As for the slightly worn ones, all I can say is that I never have to deal with blisters on my feat. I always like poking around in the mugs, cups, and dishes section here as well. I've found many a favourite mug here. It's important to have multiple favourite mugs you know. I currently have 6 favourite mugs. Somehow they get a lot of cool giant paintings here as well. I'm not sure where they're stealing them from, but they're pretty decent and I'm always a little confused to see such things at a Value Village. Generally still to rich for my blood though, but way cheaper then at a gallery. Don't bother looking through the records though, the only thing people in Niagara Falls listened to apparently were Kenny Rogers and Anne Murray. The staff here were super nice and helpful, so mad love to them, and there was a huge collection of things to dig through. Nothing spectacular but some quality clothing. I did find a vintage LL Bean dress that I was excited to take home, and we had fun rolling around and digging with my Grandma so definitely time well spent. read more

I saw an Xbox 360 slim today that was actually fairly priced, a shock considering how stupid Value Village prices have gotten in general. But wait, obviously it was too good to be true. The power supply was sitting on top of it, I brought them both to the cashier. She tells me she thinks it was supposed to separate and someone made a mistake, it was supposed to be "times two". I tell her it's the power supply that goes with the console and they were together, I wasn't going to pay twice the amount for something that should have been included to be included. She calls over an employee nearby to double check with him. I repeat that it's the power supply that goes with that model. The dude literally tries to plug it in and couldn't figure it out, putting it in backwards lol. Then he's like "yeah I think it's supposed to be separate". I just said forget it and walked out... Value Village has gotten so overpriced and I don't think I've bought anything in a few years now. read more

Out of all the thrift stores in my area I always find fantastic things. Store employees are always courteous,helpful and upbeat. The store is kept clean and has good lighting.I usually go on Tuesdays for seniors day for 30% off and always find some real good bargains. Thank you Niagara Falls location! read more

It's a little hit or miss. There's a few items I've bought and then had to return because they didn't work properly. Overall, the best options and when I pick up the most stuff is from signing up as a super saver and therefore you hear about deals and discounts before everyone else knows about big sale days. I've bought quite a bit of stuff here over the years, including Halloween costumes and clothes that I still wear from over a decade ago. My favourite jacket was bought here for 2 dollars back in the day. My most recent visits have involved donating old junk that I don't need any more. Value Village Niagara Falls could teach St. Catharines location a lesson or two on pricing and product. First off, all products are in the form of a donation of some sort. So all monies are priced for profit to aid in the charities that help with diabetes and more... So why would anyone pay retail prices for items second hand? I don't mean the collector items, I'm referring to ordinary items you could buy in a retail store. Niagara Falls location knows this, respects this and prices their items accordingly. Of course an item or two I've picked up has been ridiculously priced and I hope this is just a fluke or a mistake, but their items are packaged with the incentive of pushing their product through the checkout while making a nice amount to help their charities. I give them kudos for their efforts. Don't stop grab bagging products either; this is what attracted me to the location and keeps me coming back. I'll pay for a reasonably priced grab bag 4-5$ and appreciate the items that have been packaged as NOT being junk. Keep the regular Joe in mind, Value Village, and you will get people back over and over again because with these hard economic times, an avenue like yours that helps us who are struggling, to cloth our kids, make a little money while helping a good cause, and have access to such a variety of items for the selecting.
