Very greedy organization, everything in that store is very expensive, their inventory is all donations from local people , their prices are more expensive than London drugs! I was paying for a pair of boots when I asked if my coupon for women's clothing also applied. I thought she was going to ask a manager but when she came back she had changed the sticker price from 10.99 to 14.99! I couldn't believe it! She said the sticker was changed and that 10.99 was not the correct sticker, even though the sticker read "women's boots". They then said, "we're not saying you did it..." I was shocked! I am a grown woman asking for help and they then put a higher sticker price on! Not to mention, if I had changed the sticker, as if I'd bring more attention to myself by asking for help. I did not buy them out of principle. I wanted to get out of there as fast as I could! This VV also doesn't have the best treasures at the best prices. read more

I have been to 3 different Value Village locations since they have reopened. Not one location told me they won't exchange housewares. This location lied to me and told me the initial e mail sent out alerting customers to their re-opening stated no returns on housewares. When I got home I re-read the email and called the store. A manager was suppose to call me back, but has not and its been over 4 days now. They have sent out emails asking their customers to hold onto their donations during the height of Covid-19. I will be donating to Goodwill from here on in as I feel Value Village has gotten increasingly expensive and is now just looking for handouts and using Covid 19 to their own benefit. read more

This is, in my opinion, the best of the Value Villages around the lower mainland. Probably because it is absolutely massive. I've gotten some really nice things here and is a good standup for bog standard clothing in excess. Recommended for find a 'nice shirt'. I like looking at all the bizarre knick knacks and I like seeing them suddenly gone. Someone is buying all those wicker muscat bottles and incomplete microscope kits that fly along the shelves. I think you'll really have to be a consistent and dedicated shopper at thrift stores to find things that you like - and possibly also revel in the joy of just checking things out. If you're under pressure to find something for a specific occasion or just underpressure in general, don't go to a thrift store. You'll probably get really irritated with the line up or someone's face or the lighting is bad or a price or two is not to your liking. It's a thrift store... I lower my expectations significantly and usually don't feel bad about going in or taking the time because I happen to be in the area for other errands. It works better that way. I like certain sections in their clothing which have always come out with amazing priceless items and end up looking like some classy new yorker. It may also have something to do with my very small size (size 0 to 4) which I can be grateful for! However if I went to a thrift store in Richmond where people are smaller from Asia, I'd probably be in for a different experience! I've found household items that I still have to this day and are useful also! I generally don't find anything that fits with my decor in terms of figurines etc. It's all very personal. The staff are genuine and very kind. I've never had a problem with them or the line ups at all. It's usually the customers making a scene or someone so miserably confused about something for $1.99 or trying to argue about an item they previously bought. read more

My wife and I were looking for a winter jacket and we found a jacket that was in a good condition on the out side but the inside were showing A bit of heavy usage, since it didn't have a price we got the cashier to check how much it would cost. My wife and I were shocked when the manager wanted $69.99 for the jacket ! The people behind us also could not believe the price. Pros: friendly staff and they try their best to keep it organized and tidy. Decent prices on some things I'm interested in. Cons: getting in out of the parking lot during rush hour. Records are priced all over the place. Old stuff sits on the shelf for months. Nana Mouskouri, streisand, please toss that crap away! Some jerk is stealing knobs off the electronics. Wondering where the "Value" is in a vinyl LP of Wings Over America priced at $19.99 (seen today)...this is an extremely common record worth maybe $5 if in MINT condition which the Value Village stores I've visited know nothing about as they will price up any scratched up old vinyl they see fit and put a price sticker which is difficult to remove without damaging the cover as well. You are not a vinyl retailer VV, 99% of the records in your racks are worthless so stop being greedy. I shop at some VV stores which do not price up their records (most of which at the regular price of $2 are already steep) but this one has always been a particularly bad offender, saw this today however and could not let this stand without commenting. read more

This is the newest Value Village in Coquitlam. I originally came here to look for some cheap magazines for my school projects which they do have, they have mostly beauty magazines and a few lifestyle ones but really not much on home decorating. They have a large selection of clothing for men and women. Honestly, I always thought I would be one of those thrift store snobs but not too many years ago I have bought a couple of pieces from consignment stores that I really like since I like to take my clothing in to consign as well. I just look at it this way now, if it is still in excellent condition - looks like it has never been worn, it's the same thing as buying clothes on the racks that have been tried on a few times by a bunch of other people, just wash everything after you buy it. I found some great pieces here. I've seen a few items from H&M. Today I bought a 100% silk lined Banana Republic Halter for $9.99, a gorgeous brown and beige Fendi Scarf for $9.99, a dressy black and white striped sleeveless top for $7.99 and I found a pair of Hello Kitty slippers that look like they haven't even been worn once for $2.99. Now this is a bit unfortunate because I found these not too long after I bought a pair from Henderson Market for a whopping $20 that I can't return but anyways I grabbed the slippers and put it into my shopping basket because it was such a great steal and I have no idea when Target will soon be open. This Value Village mostly has friendly cashiers and they do offer promotions sometimes. At the moment if you bring in donations you can receive a 30% off coupon. They also have a stamp card that they stamp for each $5 you spend or donation you bring in and once you fill out the whole card you will receive 30% off. This is pretty much a win-win situation though because even if you end up spending more money than you expected that money goes to a good cause and you can sometimes find great new items to add to your closet. There are a few items that I've seen that were priced fairly higher than usual but for the most part there are some good steals. The only suggestion I have is that you give yourself enough time to browse because sometimes you really just gotta look through things but I'd definitely come back to this Value Village. read more

While I agree with most comments about the store being big and fairly clean this is the most over priced of all the Value Village stores I have visited. During my most recent trip to this location (and likely my last) I spotted an old turntable. This turntable was missing the headshell, cartridge and needle, counterweight, had a cracked dust cover and was missing the hinges. Value Village price of $49.99! Seriously? Next up, a non working stereo receiver with half of the function buttons missing. Value Village price of $49.99. It seemed to be the magical price of anything that might be considered vintage. The theory here seems to be that if it looks like it is vintage then it must be valuable so this is the fixed price. On the positive side the staff seem friendly enough and there is ample parking (albeit it a very awkward entry into the parking lot). Do yourself a favour if you are a Value Village fan and find a different location. read more
