Easy reservations on-line. Allot of communications via text if you needed anything for your stay. If I had anything negative to say which really isn't a negative just a preference. I would have loved to see the original wood floors instead of carpet but that is just me. I am not a big fan of carpet. I would HIGHLY recommend the Magpie! Go and RELAX!!!!

The breakfast was amazing, tasty, with 2 kind of eggs, bacon, parfait, Strawberries, kiwi, grapes, nuts, banana and cinnamon pastries, coffee and orange juice, we requested it into the room, it was very romantic (I came with my husband) 1 thing I will forever be super grateful is that in my mexican mind, a "detached bathroom" in a house would mean "detached from other rooms (like.. private to the room) upon arrival, our host wanted to made sure i meant to book a room with no bathroom inside... i messed up!! I would have never considered a romantic gateaway with my husband in a bedro with a bathroom outside!!! But it was my mistake, (which at that point I hadn't even realized) and she was so kind and went above and beyond to offer me a switch to another available room when I realized my terrible mistake, I cannot express how grateful I am!!!I completely recommend this great place!!!

There are new antiques every time I visit, some of which were donated by descendants of the original home owners. The house is always decked out, but it is especially fun to see during the holidays. You can tell a lot of thought, time and money went into restoring this magnificent 7,000 square foot home to its former grandeur. I will definitely go back to visit, even if only to get away from the city lights and mentally recharge in the quiet country atmosphere.

We were served a fantastic homemade breakfast of eggs, biscuits and gravy with fruit. Not the best if you are on a diet, but you can NOT compare any free breakfast at a hotel to this it was amazing. We have stayed in agglomeration cabins and rental homes over the years and really appreciate those that go above and beyond- these did not. Having a list of things to do around the city, which is very small, would have been nice. Or the option of renting a fishing pole, maybe even a loaner that were could check out for the day would have been nice. We are not fishing people, we have never been so offering that would be nice. The is a place to have a fire bur no wood, again it would be nice if that was something included. Overall, the cabin was just that- a place to stay to sleep. Not much else in regards to activities. If I were to make a suggestion: 1. Have fishing rods (cheap, crappy ones) that guests could borrow 2. List of family fun activities close by 3. List of good places to eat 4. Any great places top see, shop or stop by the locals know about but out-of-towners would not It's a great place to just get away and relax, just a little lost as far as what to do around there.

We totally lucked out and felt like we won the Lottery when we walked in. The proprietor met us on the little road heading down (while she was feeding the chickens, with a longhorn standing ominously behind her). Then - a huge fireplace with burning logs to welcome us in. We arrived late afternoon and just took a brief walk around the grounds on a few of the many trails. The Prayer chapel has a custom made cross with a stained glass dragonfly. The serenity of the scenic landscape is really something. This would be a perfect getaway for a group or spiritual retreat. Truly an amazing feeling - like you've just come home! Can't wait to return when the seasons change.
