We've been going here since 2020 and have had nothing but good experiences. They have helped us with everything from vaccines, annual checkup, dental cleanings, new puppy appt, new kitten appt. They did everything the could to try to heal my dog from a rare blood disease, and when he ultimately passed they helped us through our loss and even made us a little paw print keepsake to remember our guy. Everyone who works there from the front staff, the doctors, assistants, and of course the 2 office kitties are wonderful. I have never left feeling like they pushed me into doing anything and I feel like their prices have always been very fair. I have recommended them to everyone I know and I hope you all consider them too. read more

Dr. French and the staff at Valley Veterinary Clinic were kind and gentle with my Priya. She was diagnosed with cancer of the spleen and other locations. After discussion and review of the ultrasounds, I was given the option of trying palliative care with more medications or euthanasia which I felt was best for her. She was not frightened at any time during the process. They all made certain she knew she was loved. Thank you so much for all you do and have done. read more

We had a cat with a rare disease that needed to visit monthly and every single time all the staff and vet would say is how he was mean and "didn't like them" we also recently saw Dr. French for a sick kitten we rescued, and she had zero compassion or empathy at all. Our kitten ended up passing away. The emergency vet was amazing and sent us a card and we have yet to hear from valley vet. We will never bring another beloved pet here and would not recommend them to anyone. read more

The only reason this gets a 1 star is because of the receptionist that helped me on Wednesday. She was nothing but kind, caring, and respectful. Unfortunately after three visits and almost 2k later in my opinion there were little to no results. After receiving a second opinion from the ER this afternoon due to his condition worsening (sneezing blood, had labored breathing, and a severe upper respiratory infection following his last appointment on Wednesday). It turns out he was on two medications, he DID NOT need or address the core of his condition. Due to his current level of health, if his symptoms do not improve I was informed euthanasia may be the next step. In my opinion they were playing roulette with my cats health. He was shuffled between vets, and the vet who treated him was extremely disrespectful to me with every interaction we had. It concerns me that because of this his treatment may or may not have been affected. I was left with no discharge information, aftercare summary ect on the primary reason for the visit. I was given very little information and was told IN A VOICEMAIL she would follow up with me Monday (FIVE DAYS AFTER HIS APPOINTMENT) to discuss things. Absolutely unacceptable . When I finally was able to obtain the proper documents three days later from the appointment. It was from the one of the owners. Mind you I had to call and reach out for the third day in a row. He apologized but said there was nothing he could do regarding the situation but have a conversation with his staff lol what a joke. If you care about the wellbeing of your animals, do not take them here. read more

We took our older male lab Drake in for a visit he was on the downhill slide, Dr. French had removed a sock from him years ago, and he did great the staff is always very friendly as we called hourly. Dr. McCormick checked Drake and ran tests and Xrays the diagnosis was not what we were hoping for, I would like to thank the staff again for how Drake was treated and laid to rest. The vet implied he got into something caustic in our yard and was incredibly rude/pushing that we somehow harmed him. I was with him every time he went outside and we have NO chemicals in our yard. VVC had cared for my dachshund for a couple of years. I really did appreciate the care the vets took of my pooch. The real issue for me is the office staff. Apparently keeping special order dog food, prescribe by the vet, in stock is too much for them to handle. On four separate occasions, I came to pick up the food, and they didn't have it in stock. I had to make other arrangements for my dog which resulted in bloody diarrhea. The very condition I was treating with the prescribed food. The plan was to always have 2 bags on the shelf with my name on it. When 1 bag was purchased another would be ordered. The fourth incident just occurred, when I tried to explain what we had previously agreed to for handling the special order ... the vet tech said "We have several clients using this brand of dog food now. Why didn't you call?" I was so mad at her comment, I just walked out. I tried to follow up with Dr. French. I called and left a message, but he hasn't called. I don't believe he was given a message ... judging by the sickeningly sweet tone of the message taker. It's a shame a good vets office is being hurt by the absolutely crappy attitude of 2 vet tech. I'm taking my pet and monies to another vet. I no longer recommend this office either. I actually used to give out their business cards to folks looking for a vet. Disclaimer- The Vet Techs and office staff are such sweethearts, to the point that it's a crying shame I have to write this review. The "Practice Owner," Mark McFrederick, would be very well suited to follow his employee's example of customer service, should he desire to cease getting horrid reviews. On the contrary, I invite him to stay the course if he'd like to alienate himself from every responsible pet owner in the Inland Northwest. Mark was rude, condescending, and unprofessional. Less time was spent addressing our dog's primary reason for visit, in favor of jumping the gun and trying to pursue a treatment path for a completely unrelated issue he wasn't even confirmed to have. Mind you- All due to the fact that our shot records (that were found later) for heartworm had been left at home. Fast forward through the one X-Ray we got- Mark re- entered the room to review the findings with us, and stated that not enough could be determined because we "wouldn't allow for another one" To which I corrected him- telling him that in fact, " We couldn't afford another one," which agitated him further. The straw that broke the camel's back was when he uncovered the fact that an immediate family member was a physician- Telling me that he "bets she makes great money, and could afford the additional X-Rays" on his way out the door. A 20 minute visit and $300 dollars later- We were told the root cause of our dog's discomfort- gastritis (an inflamed/ irritated stomach) Had he had his way, our visit to obtain the EXACT SAME INFORMATION would've costed us well north of $500. Dr. Sederstrom is an excellent Veterinarian. By all means- balk at the opportunity to see her. The staff are also some of the best I've ever come across. But Mark McFrederick? Don't expect him to do something as menial as restringing a shoe without trying to upsell you or taking a stab at your sentiment. I wouldn't bring a goldfish in to see him after my initial (and last) visit with him today. read more

I'm leaving this review up but take it with a grain of salt. ************ We brought our geriatric cat Connor to them and had a few teeth pulled. A couple of months before we were there for another reason (that's when the Vet said he needed some of his teeth out) and the Dr told us about this wonderful half off special and quoted a price. Sounded good to us so we made an appointment for him. Up until then we had taken Roxy, our dog, and Connor in to the clinic. The staff was just this side of rude. Nice enough not to complain but no more. The Dr was quick and made rapid assumptions (I'm not a vet, I can only speak to my impressions on those experiences.). We were already considering finding another place when this happened. I brought Connor in the early morning and they took him. Then the woman at the front desk pulled out a sheet with a list of "optional" but "highly recommended" procedures so Connor would be safe and comfortable. One was pain medication(shouldn't that be included?!), another was for a blood work, and another was for hydration in case he needed it. It came out to be over $100! I did it because, you know, it was half off and all. I was annoyed by this at the time but got the procedure done anyway because he needed it so badly. When I got home I got angrier and angrier and eventually I wrote an undeservedly polite letter telling them of my concerns. I asked for my money back and an apology. Nothing. No response at all. No apology, no, "we'll look at that," no nothing. And later there's more. I had not checked the bill closely enough and I saw that they had charged me for a "Dental Cat Scale & Polish" for another $122. I did NOT ask for that procedure. My Chihuahua Mix broke his leg on Halloween and I brought him here for his surgery. I got quotes from every vet from Indian Trail all the way to the valley and this was by far the best in all of Spokane. Dr. Hamilton performed the surgery and has been great the whole way about explaining procedures and costs. read more

I am definitely a worrier when it comes to my dogs. I've had awesome experiences here, including two seperate vets who were super helpful when advising me on taking care of my dogs small lump on her ear. The vets I worked with both provided me all the options, including what they thought was best, what was most cost effective. They were helpful and everyone has always been incredibly friendly, especially with helping my very nervous dog. I took my dog to Valley Vet from the time she was 8 weeks old until she was 12. Everything was fine as long as she was healthy. When she started experiencing fatigue and trouble walking and going up and down the steps I was concerned and took her to Valley Vet several times about it.They ordered all kinds of tests, lab work and x-rays and I spent hundreds of dollars, but they couldn't figure out what was wrong with her. About a year-and-a-half later, at one of her regular yearly check-ups, they did a Lyme test and it came back positive. I asked them why they hadn't checked for Lyme before especially since she was experiencing the symptoms of Lyme disease and their response was "we only check for Lyme at their regular check-ups every two years". Really??? They prescribed doxycycline for her but she hardly improved. The damage was permanent since she had it for almost 2 years by then. Needless to say I changed Vets after that. I would never take a pet here again read more

I always try to get my pets in with Dr. Hamilton or Dr. Giese because my 3 dogs have always been more comfortable with them, but I've always had a good experience with all the vets. The staff are always friendly and helpful. Kate has been there years and always has a smile on her face. read more

I came to Valley Vet in an emergency situation with my 13yo diabetic cat. Unfortunately, she had to be put to sleep. I have had other animals put to sleep, and the way you are treated in these situations create lasting memories. I have been treated poorly. The Doc and staff at Valley Vet were so compassionate. They did not pressure me to perform any un-needed procedures and did not make me feel like crap when we made the decision to euthanize our cat. When we adopted a new kitten from SCRAPS, Valley Vet was one of the places that spay so we saw them again when we picked up the new kitten. Once again, we were treated kindly and compassionately. Now, we are bringing the dog to them to. I will never go to another vet as long as I live in Spokane. read more

I just took in my dog to get her distemper shot. I was unable to afford anything else. I mentioned my dog randomly scratching her ear. Dr Julie Sederstrom noticed my dog had some chickweed seed close to her eardrum. Because my dog was moving too much to pull out the seed, Dr Julie said they would have to sedate her. She also said she wasn't going to charge me, because she knew upfront I could not afford anything more than the distemper. An hour later, Dr Julie showed me the weed in her ear. My dog had a weed field in her ear! We are now home and my dog is feeling no side effects from the sedation. Also, I was very touched at Dr Julie's compassion and generosity. I will definitely be taking my pet there again! read more

They charged $114 for a 5 minute exam and heartworm test. They DRAGGED my dog in the back where I was not allowed during the heartworm test. He's a well behaved service dog who didn't need to be dragged! After I took him home I soon notice he has some broken teeth. I wrote and asked them what they did with my dog back there where I was not allowed to go and they failed to respond, so they are guilty! read more

I have taken my lab to Valley Vets for 14 years and have nothing but good to say about this clinic. They misplaced my file once and that is about as bad as it has ever been. I haven't felt upsold on superfluous treatments as the treatments have always been my choice so I recommend them for your pets. read more

I took my cat "Baby" there... and was told he had cancer... I told them I was on a fixed income.. "disability" .. and the vet stopped everything... and said.. basically nothing could be done... that he was sure on the basis of an x ray only that my cat had cancer... I tried to get help for my other cat Lil boy.. and the vet never even called me back... The vet actually talked down to me... treated me like I was an idiot... In my previous review I spoke about how wonderful this vet clinic is and how my 13 year GS was properly diagnosed and treated for cancer. She enjoyed a few months of being cancer free, however her rear joints continued to deteriorate to the point were she had great difficulty getting around, so I had to make the most devastating decision of our lives and let her pass. The support and compassion we were given by the staff was unmatched by any vet clinic we had ever utilized. Dr. Sederstrom, Dr. Gese knew Spirit well and loved her almost as much as me. I know it was very difficult for them as well. They walked me through the process and explained what would happen, when Spirit passed it was peaceful. I was touched deeply by the sympathy card they sent me and the urn in which my Spirit is resting is beautiful. This vet clinic absolutely does NOT pressure you to buy things your pet does not need. They give you a list of products that may help your pet, however it is clearly stated the options are your choice to make and not a requirement. Please don't interpret their thoughtfulness as a ploy to get your money. That is the practice you see at the big chain pet stores, not this clinic. I am writing this review because I do not want anyone to endure what my family and I went through this past week. Our 3 year old Saint Bernard had problems with urination back in December of 2010. I chose to go to Valley Vet Clinic because the owners were also my customers (I am a small business owner). The price of the visit was reasonable and they diagnosed my dog with having a bladder infection and prescribed medication. After the medication she seemed to be doing better, until the last couple of weeks when the symptoms returned. I called and scheduled an appointment to get her some more medicine. When I arrived the vet took some blood work and I waited for the results. The vet came back and told me that my dog was in kidney failure. She brought me a bill and said this is what we can do at the clinic (almost $400), then stated we are only open for another hour, so you will then have to take your dog to the emergency clinic. I told her that I didn't have thousands of dollars to take my dog to the emergency clinic and asked what my options were. I also mentioned that I did some work in trade with the owners and I would like to use this money towards the bill. She stated that the owners were on vacation in Mexico and that it had nothing to do with them. She asked me to wait. After a few minutes, the vet didn't return. She actually sent her "minimum wage" receptionist to talk to me. It felt as if I was in a sales office getting ready to buy a car. She talked to me like she wanted to see how much money they could get out of me before I left. I absolutely did not want my dog to suffer, and the saleswoman made me feel like my dog had a chance of survival. So I told her to give my dog fluids and anything else she needed and we would return with her the next day. Not once did anyone tell me or suggest euthanizing my dog. When it came time to pay the bill, my check card was declined three times. I had plenty of money in the bank, but it wouldn't go through. Rather than tell me to take care of it tomorrow when I came back, she said that I should call my bank immediately. As my dog laid suffering on the floor of the clinic, I waited on hold with my bank for almost 15 minutes. When I finally spoke to an agent, he apologized and told me that there was a system wide failure and no check cards were working across the US. He then spoke to the "minimum wage" receptionist and told her that the funds are there, but there is a problem with the system and it would be up in an hour. After hearing this, the receptionist proceeded to ask if she could write down my card number and charge it first thing in the morning when she came in. I have never been so disgusted in all my life. After we finished I asked her if there was anything I needed (pain meds, instructions, etc.) before I left. She said, no. Just to make your dog comfortable and we will call you first thing in the morning with the "advanced" blood results and go from there. I then took my dog home and made her as comfortable as possible. My family and I were by our dog's side all night. While we all comforted her, I researched kidney failure in dogs. After reading, I knew that she was in the final stages of kidney failure and she probably wouldn't make it through the night. The vet clinic knew this too, but still tried to soak as much money as they could. At around 3:30 in the morning, our dog began to cry and moan in excruciating pain. It was devastating to watch her suffer in such pain. We all felt helpless. It took an hour for her to die. She died in the arms of my 14 year old son. Valley Vet never called us first thing in the morning with the results. They waited until almost noon. I will never understand how and why a company could treat anyone like this. I have never had a sick dog before, so I counted on the advice and experience of the veterinarian to tell me what to do. Any doctor in their right mind would have at least suggested euthanizing her knowing she was in the final stages of kidney failure. They did not. I hope that anyone looking for a new veterinarian will choose wisely and do the research. Please do not take your pet to this clinic. My next door neighbors as well as two of my customers have also had issues with Valley Vet Clinic. I have learned a hard lesson and won't ever make this mistake again. read more

I brought my chihuahua in today after finding him in a coyote's mouth!!! They welcomed me in with a smile and concern, they immediately examined my dog, the beautiful blond Dr helped me out. My dog recieved amazing care and they even called to update me that he was ok. I have been going here for 6 years, we even moved far away and I still only go here. They are WSU Vets and extremely compassionate and skilled. The cost of my dog visit without an appt, iv fluids, dr exam, pain pills, and a 6 hour observation was only 140$. He also recieved a pressure dressing for his wounds and they gladly said they would change them the next day. They even put him on a heating blanket for comfort. The Dr and staff hugged me multiple times and offered me water. I was so scared. My dog is fine and I have them to thank. They are nicer than my human doctors office lol. I give them raving reviews. The other vet there his name is Dr. French, he is super nice too. If you want true care for your pet take them here where they treat you like family. read more

The Dr's are rude to you if you voice any type of worry or concern to them. They overcharge you if you have a difficult cat because it's easier to inject them then take care of them correctly. We were estimated a bill of $200 and was not given any indication the estimate went up by $90 for 1/2 the care because we removed him from the facility early only to find he was soaked in urine because they removed the catheter bag and left him in the box. We called asking for a partial refund which we were denied and laughed at saying we don't know what were talking about when it comes to our pets care. Dr. French and McFrederick are very rude. Everything is fine as long as you have a simple procedure and don't have to worry about the emotional state of your animal. We will never recommend them to anyone and hope to defame them on their poor service so no animals who are sick and afraid have to suffer incompetent doctors who only care about money. read more

Mark McFredick was prescibing meds for my 4 month old german shorthair and I had her stitches taken out at vet that did her spading and asked if she urinated to get sample and send in for me so I could give report to mark, well they did and mark would not treat dog because he did not send in urinalysis which is exactly opposite of what he did two weeks prior he said go to people that sent in urinalysis and did'nt care that dog had lost 3 lbs on his prescription diet nor did he talk to me personally but relayed through his receptionist. All in all it came down he wanted money to tell me to keep on same diet and meds or change because it was to aggresive. Not animal freindly, run as a bank and not vet service. read more
