We're living in the area short term and our pup had an issue at the lake. I didn't feel comfortable traveling over an hour to have her seen at our regular vet in CDA. I called in and they told me to come down. Everyone was so friendly and reassuring. We were very pleased with the doctor. She was knowledgeable and didn't make me feel overly cautious or silly. I got an appt on a Thursday and the doctor did a good exam on him and said that it could be a tooth infection so he gave us some anti inflammatory pills and we went on our way for the 4th! My experience with this vet is as follows. One of our goats was kicked in the neck by a horse. I took the goat here after a couple of days of the nursing at home. The goats pain did not improve and fear the neck was broken I made an appointment with the only large animal vet in area. She physically exam the goat then xrayed the neck with no pain meds administerd. The goat was screaming in pain. The xrays determined the goat had a broken neck and needed surgery. Well can't afford that on a goat. So decided pretty quickly to euthanize to put her out of misery... This vet charged me $450 for exam and xray. Then charge me $400 to despose of her. The tech calisly said to justify the cost you can take it home and bury it yourself. This was my wifes favorite goat. So basically $850 to euthanasia and bury a goat. Oh the tech said to me in very condescending way"hope the rest of your day is better", nice huh... read more

I had some unique situations and they worked with me. Very professional, warm and kind. Both Dr. Wilson Ashton and Vida went above and beyond. My 3 yr old Doberman was attacked by another dog and had deep puncture wounds in 3 places and I couldn't get the wounds to stop bleeding. This was after hours but the Vet who was "on call" responded quickly, he put pain medication outside for me to pick up at 9:30 pm so that my dog could be in less pain and distress until the morning . I took my dog back at 7:30 am the next morning and they gave me a good idea of what a plan would look like. He required surgery and to be put under for it. I went back in the late afternoon and got an update that things had gone well. My dog tore his stitches out even with a big cone on, so I had to take him back 2 days later and in both the first and this second visit, they took him right in, even though we didn't have an appointment either time. They are very busy, so I really appreciated their care and concern for my boy. My dog is a fully trained Service Dog and they took that seriously as they worked him into an already busy practice. I've been to both good and bad Vets, so I know the difference. There are several other things that they did without charging me, knowing that I'm disabled and have very limited funds. They kept him overnight free of charge as an example. Most recently I had been a prisoner of Banfield Veteranary and they get a straight one star if any. Deer Park Veteranary Clinic is a 5 star provider. They've have a customer for life in me. read more

We have been going to this vet for several years at this point. The last few times we've gone have been less than positive experiences. But today was awful. I want to start by saying that the veterinarians that we've seen there are all amazing! And most of the veterinarian technicians we have seen are also wonderful. Every time we get there, we have to wait for over 30 minutes for our appointment and then an additional 20 to 30 minutes in the room. Today I had to bring my kids which I know can be frustrating. My daughter who is 4 loves to come and wants to be a vet. Once we got in the room the gal who came in, the assistant was very rude and curt. Started talking about giving my dog an exam and a rabies vaccine which she just got two weeks ago. We were only there for a booster shot. I was shocked that they were that unorganized and didn't already know that since she was holding her chart and when I said something she snapped back at me asking "Why are you here then? Why didn't they just give all the shots at once?" I quickly responded saying I don't like to do that, I break them up because my dog had a reaction. The last couple times we have been there. It's the same sort of confusion. They don't know what she was in therefore, what she was therefore, last I have to always correct them. So then to confirm what I was saying she gets on the computer and starts typing away. My daughter being a curious four-year-old went up and pushed a button and she yelled at my daughter "don't touch" and then growled in annoyance. My poor girl was almost in tears. Saying no thank you works just as well! I was appalled. Then she starts going on about how they're going to take my dog out of the room to give her the vaccine and I said I would really rather you didn't can you please give her the vaccine in the room with us. My dog is already anxious being there. She then proceeds saying that it's a liability to do that which, I was very confused by because they've done this for us multiple times before. she then leaves the room says she's going to get a technician, then comes back and takes my dog out of the room and I said I am why are you taking her? Will be back really quick! I was very unhappy. She was very rude about it. I specifically said not to take her. Then we go to the front desk to check out. The front desk is normally very friendly. I asked them to break down What the 5 in 1 vaccine is and she responded in such rudeness that I was taken back and shocked. I didn't even know how to respond. This has been our vet for so long that I hate to switch, but after this encounter, I can't see us coming back. I'm appalled by the treatment we received today. I will also be calling to complain about the vet assistant who yelled at my daughter and went against my wishes and took my dog out of the room! read more

Hands-down the best veterinary experience I have ever had. I called Monday morning to bring my dog in to be evaluated for a dog bite she got over the weekend. They saw her that morning, preformed minor surgery, called me with updates and options, and she was outta there by 2. Incredibly, it was all under 500 including her meds. That's insane in comparison to what I have spent at other vets for far less than minor surgery. They were so professional and kind eventhough I was a scattered mess. I don't usually write negative reviews, but I had really unpleasant experience with them. The people in the front were nice so I was excited. However, a lady who I saw in the room was very mean and dismissive. She, a vet tech, wanted me to sign the paper for the procedure as quickly as possible. She was annoyed when I asked her questions about the procedure. She answered questions with a rude attitude and rolled eyes. She looked frustrated and talked down to me. While I was asking her a question, she cut me off. She got up and said "I'll be back because you are indecisive." Yes, she actually said that to me! I understand they were so busy, and wanted to get the paperwork done, but I needed to get questions answered before sign any paperwork. Also, the price of the procedure was much higher than I was told when I made an appointment, so I needed to see what's going on. I waited 45 minutes in the waiting area (I had an appointment), then I was with her less than 7 minutes. She called me indecisive? I wasn't allowed to ask questions? How rude is that. She never really looked my cat either and I was wondering if she cared about animal at all. I don't think she did. She was a Caucasian lady and I had never felt so discriminated. As soon as I signed the paperwork, she just grabbed my cat and left. And they gave my cat unnecessary vaccines without my permission and charged me. I told her that I would call to let her know if my cat needed those shots, but the lady said because I didn't call her she gave my cat those shots? She kept saying "Well, your cat is now protected and extra vaccines don't hurt your cat." I obviously don't want to give extra vaccines that my cat already had. There were just a lot of miscommunication because she didn't care to listen to me well. The lady in front (she was nice) told me that the vet tech made a mistake and financial person will call me to refund money for the unnecessary treatment they did. Well, it has been more than a week and no one has contacted me yet. I didn't meet a doctor at all. One good thing is that my cat looks fine and she is recovering okay. read more

Beyond disappointed in the care and treatment of both our dog and our cat. I'll start with the cat, he is around 8 years old and mostly outdoors. I noticed some debris in his ears and thought it could be from mites so I took him in to find out for sure. They did a swab and said it was not mites and then said it might be an infection. If you know anything about cats then you know they rarely get ear infections. They prescribed ear drops. It was not an infection the ears just needed a thorough cleaning. They were just prescription happy since all of their prescriptions are about $50 more than anything you get off chewy. Now, onto our dog, he did in fact have an ear infection, a very nasty persistent one. We took him in several times and was continued on the almost the same exact treatment plan every single time even though that treatment never eliminated the infection. The treatment was the TrizUltra + keto flush and I dont remember the name but it was a treatment in the ear that was supposed to last for two weeks. The last time we were there we asked about other treatments and the suggestion we received was surgery to cut his ears all the way down to expose his canal essentially to "allow for the moisture to drain" to prevent infections. Off to a new vet we went for a second opinion. We discussed multiple treatment options and surgery was not one of them. They did the same two week ear treatment, but additional to that they did a steroid injection and an antibiotic injection. Within a few days that nasty snot looking infection that had lasted for well over 6 months with treatment from Deerk Park, was gone. My suggestion to all - get a second opinion if you do choose to take your pets here. To me it is very clear that their ultimate goal is their bottom dollar. Look out for your pets and find a pet that has the same intention in mind as you. read more

Anyway my dog ended up having a bad reaction to the meds. NO ONE will return my call!!! My pup is sick, needs meds, and I have no idea what to do. I don't understand but this NOT ok! They are a decent and reasonably priced vet, but I'm not convinced they are very familiar with felines. After multiple $100+ trips for fur loss, I felt the staff were a little dismissive of symptoms and chalked it up to psychosomatic or allergy related. After more worrying we tried a cat specialty clinic and they quickly identified a UTI and near ruptured anal glands. I feel like anal gland impactions should be at the top of any differential diagnosis for what the cat was presenting with, and am disappointed they missed this Friendly staff and reasonable prices, but do not be afraid to get a second opinion or choose another vet for your cat read more

I waited over 40 minutes for an appointment that was scheduled for a month. The girls in the front didn't seem to understand my time is equally valuable but they were still polite. The vet tech in the back was not polite at all. When I attempted to explain my concern she just snapped off "Maybe you just need to find another vet!" Unbelievably rude and then just walks out. The vet that came in was polite and listened when I talked. I offered a suggestion of maybe warning people when they arrive that there could be 30-60 minute wait time due to whatever reasons, rather than just letting people sit and telling them they are second in a line that doesn't seem to be moving. She agreed they could do that. It is very important to acknowledge people and try to work together rather than just go straight to attack mode and tell them to go somewhere else. Hopefully things there improve because I really do like the vets there. read more

We've always received top notch care from all the vets for the past 30 years. Dr John is our favorite, but they're all wonderful. I love that they have emergency services also. Tonight, Saturday night, my adored pup cut his leg. They met us there at 6pm, and got him right back to get him sedated and stitched up. If I could leave a negative review I would. First of all, Dr Amy was AMAZing! Knowledgeable, kind, friendly and welcoming! Highly recommend her to take care of any animal needs! However, the front office staff, specifically Evonne, need a class in customer service or get a job doing something other than dealing with people. As som who has worked customer service for 30 years and managed some of those years, I can tell you if I heard she had treated a customer/client/pati of mine in the manner in which I was talked to today, she would be on toilet duty for 3 months. She was one of the most abrasive, rude, nasty and unprofessional people I have met. She even at one time rolled her eyes at me. She is the face of that business. And the first impression people get when walking in. I intend on being a long time member of this group but will NEVER again allow her to address me or my animals again. She needs to be aware that her attitude needs to be addressed immediately and corrected or she needs to be removed. I sincerely hope that someone in charge sees this review and attends to this matter. She is not fit at all to be dealing with people. We had a cat with cancer and have been taking her in for the past 3 months for care. They did everything that they could to make her comfortable at the office and long-term and I honestly think that because of their care, we had more time with her. When it was time for the last visit, they were honest while remaining extremely compassionate and we felt cared for. Drs Amy and Justin helped me deal with my beloved Shelties who passed from cancer last year in the most practical and caring manner in accordance with my wishes. Although it was terribly difficult these two and Ivy at the counter made every visit bearable and I knew I was making informed and humane choices. I've always been able to be proactive here and never felt gouged or rushed, even with emergency visits at midnight! (Sorry DR!) Our Bernese Mountain dog ate mushrooms at our lake place on Deer Lake and we did not know it, until she could not walk and was out of her mind. Scared, we jumped in the car and drove towards Deer Park and called the first vet we googled. Dr. Justin was there when we arrived and carried her into the clinic. She did not look good, I did not think she was going to make it. Dr. Justin stayed with her until 1 am and he became her best bud. I have been told by many people including family how wonderful this veterinary hospital is but this has never been my experience. The first time I went my dog needed neutered and they charged me for extra items without my permission. Last year i decided to give them another try after charging me a lot if more they did nothing to help my cat. I took her to an amazing vet in Spokane to be helped. While on a RV vacation in September 2016 we found it necessary to have one of our Shelties put down. We solicited the assistance of Deer Park Veterinary Clinic who went above and beyond to help us with this unfortunate event. The staff, technicians and doctors were all very compassionate. We were leaving town the following day and, therefore, were unable to schedule an "in-home" euthanasia and we didn't want to have the procedure done in a sterile room environment. The staff allowed us to do the procedure outside their facility, on a blanket, under a large tree. The setting was beautiful. Their compassion and understanding of our emotional distress was heartwarming and made the process the very best it could be under the circumstances. Brought my dog in for a prolapse and they fixed her (took her uterus out )325.00 the prolapse is still hanging out to remind u then two days later started bleeding called the vet they stitched it no cost figured the finally fixed what I brought her in for in the first place. Third time the stitch broke prolapse came out again blood everywhere and clots called the vet bring her in they stitched it again and they charged me 158.00 this is bull crap what are they running here a wanna be clinic I shouldn't have been charged again for something that wasn't fixed in the first place they never fixed the problem in the beginning why should I be charged again for what I paid for already in the beginning. Called for a quote for horse farm call spoke with receptionist several times even wrote quote down so I would know what we were looking at. Dr Gay did a great job with my daughters mare I was quite pleased ,but upon paying bill was shocked at the difference in what I was charged and quoted. 100.00$ difference , unfortunately this isn't the first time this has happened with them.I have a lot of respect for the drs and the work they do,unfortunately giving customers bad information then attempting to guilt them into , "well that's not how we charge" is a crappy way to do business. read more
