After a friend highly recommended this place, we decided to check this place out. We went today (Saturday) a little before 9:30 am and was able to find parking in its private lot. There were many people pouring in when we arrived. At the door was a picture of what colored tags were discounted for the day. And inside, a sign that says it's cash only. It's a well-organized thrift store with a lot of shopping baskets and carts as soon as you enter. It's clean and all the clothing on the racks are separated by categories and by the color of clothing, but not by size which is challenging. The pricing on clothing was so varied with big gaps. From $1.99 to $25 and maybe more? There were a good selection of many other items like scooters, bikes, fans, dining chairs etc. At checkout, another sign that the customer needs to take the hangers off before heading to the register. The line wasn't too long and it went pretty fast. The lady at the register was super nice and friendly. We totally scored some clothes for the grandkids and for hubby. Got some ramekins and a wooden storage bench too. We're adding this place to our list of go-to thrift stores. read more

They are always busy. Like ALWAYS. The line to check out is always long. It can go into the aisles and wrap around the store, but it can also go by fast. Store is big with a lot of inventory. Shoes and clothes are organized by color, which doesn't help when you're looking for a specific size. CASH ONLY. There is an ATM with $3.50 convenience fee. The prices here are hit and miss. Some decently priced, some overly priced. Like a simple Old Navy long sleeve shirt can run for $20. Look for colored tags with markdowns. I believed they change daily. read more

I have been looking for a large thrift store that functions well with different sales each day and this is exactly it. There are new items being brought out constantly. Most of the clothing items are in good condition and the shoe selection is great. I have found many different items here and enjoy the atmosphere. Some things are priced higher but you can definitely find some good deals. The store aisles are pretty clear and easy to get around in and The different sections are easy to distinguish. Donating is very simple. They have someone out in the parking lot that unload for you. I will definitely continue shopping and donating here. Happy hunting! read more

Very fun and busy thrift store with lots of departments to look through. All the clothing is only color-coded, so it does make it a little difficult to find your size as you have to look through every piece and check every size. Lots of home goods and unique decor to look at in good condition. They have a variety of brands for clothing. The line for checkout can get long, but we did not have to wait very long as there were multiple cashiers. Parking can be a bit difficult in the morning, but begins to clear out about midday. A couple important things, they only take cash and you cannot bring your drink into the store. Prices were pretty good, especially if you found something on sale. Overall a solid thrift. read more

I'd come here again, organized, well laid out floor, constant turn around, and the check line is fast, with a kind staff who helps you pay for your stuff. Looking through the clothes, specifically the dresses- extremely overpriced! $80 for a polyester dress no thank you! They have good stuff to look at else where besides clothes, the electronics, and furniture seem to have better pricing. I grew up going to this thrift store and will probably continue to come here as long as I live in the area. It is a large warehouse with clothes, some furniture, decor, sports equipment, and really anything under the sun, grouped by type of item. Prices are pretty cheap, though they have risen over the years for what I'd expect to pay for second hand clothing, especially for name brands. They have sales every day with discounts based on what color tag an item has. The cashiers are polite and generally pretty efficient, but if you go on a weekend afternoon you may find long lines. Be aware that they only accept cash, so bring plenty, or there is an ATM inside. There are no changing rooms, just full length mirrors hanging at various points around the building that you can try on clothes in front of. I usually wear bike shorts and a tank top to make it easier to try on clothes over them. You'll see people doing the same around each mirror. They receive donations constantly, so the store is always absolutely packed with new options. If you thrive on the chaos of a great treasure hunt, this place is for you! read more

I don't think this is a hidden gem because it's always buzzing with activity. I think this thrift store is well put together and has some of the best stuff I've ever seen. I know most people will complain about the cash only policy but honestly I think it's smart, slows ppl down from spending all their money if you come prepared with. Cash even better. There's always something new to discover as inventory is continuously put out on the floor. I found so many cool things and everyone is looking for something different so don't be discouraged. Compared to other thrift stores, I feel like I get a good deal esp since I know what I'm looking for .. there were times when I question whoever is pricing some of the modern stuff but what can you do? The place is huge and crowded. There were deals when we came - all white tags were 75 percent off. Blue tags were 50 percent off. There's a lot of Michael Kors brand and a lot of them are new. You just need time and patience to Go through the aisles. Clothing are sorted by color. I wish they were sorted by size. First discovered this store upon moving to Escondido, and my older sister who works in fashion and lives in LA had already heard about it and shopped there whenever visiting SD. The selection is very impressive, I've never seen so much selection and the store is massive. I've bought electronics, clothes, home supplies, etc there and never run out of things to find. It did have a period of getting more expensive so I stopped shopping there for a few years, but when I went back recently the prices were reasonable again. The downside is the place is always extremely crowded and there is just an overall aggressive vibe there, so don't be surprised if someone bumps into you in the aisle every time you go. Parking is the same. The employees have gotten less aggressive over the years but the customers never got the memo. It's cash only which is another drawback. But, the deals are so good that it won't be much of a deterrent for me. read more

This place is a rip off. They get everything for free, but will charge you prices similar to store prices, maybe at best 50% off, for used and worn products!! Shoes and clothing are the biggest rip-offs, especially athletic shoes and work clothes (jeans). Everything is sold 'as is' and non-returnable. If you buy a pair of shoes, and take them home and next day the sole starts falling off, too-bad. No return policy. Like I said, a rip off. read more

This was my favorite, go-to thrift store in SD County. I would routinely make the one hour drive to shop here, almost always walking away with great scores at decent prices. But, with the regime change & the thrift overlords at Red, White & Blue taking over, this store has become just another overpriced, highly filtered corporate operation. The whole vibe here has changed, I no longer see the regulars huddled around the back of the store waiting for the next batch of treasures to come out the door. Sadly, all this was inevitable. When the large corporate thrift store chains take over, this is the result. As a thrifter, you always want those small wins while shopping. I have always loved thrift shopping at this store. I drive down from Aliso Viejo about three times per year. I went yesterday and was so surprised. First of all, the store had very few customers which I thought was strange, but as I started looking at the prices, I understood why. The clothing was incredibly overpriced. For example, I saw a top that is sold at TJmax for $24.99 new, and Valley Thrift had it marked at $39.99 and it's used. Everyone I talked to in the store, were talking about it. The nik nacs were priced well, but the clothing and purses were super expensive. I usually spend about $250 when I shop there but yesterday I spent less than $45. The store is clean and very well organized, but I will never return. read more

Large selection of items. Very busy. Each day there are different sales on specifically tagged items. The lines tend to get extremely long in the middle of the day. You can find some good deals here if you're willing to sift through the thousands of items. It's not the cleanest of places. Most staff is bilingual. read more
