They are located across the street from CVS on Rockaway/Merrick Road (the old Laundry Palace). After you drop off your prescriptions at CVS take a walk over and check it out!! I use kinky curly hair products which are hard to find. You can usually get them at target (which is always sold out) or whole foods (too far) or online (why pay shipping). This place had them stocked and at the usual or maybe even cheaper prices. When you walk in there is nail polish and makeups, and hair products... Every brand you can imagine. Organic, vegan, etc. I want to try everything!!! They cater to african american hair, offering a ton of wigs and hair pieces. Still everyone can find something here! Very friendly staff and lots of variety. One of the only stores that carries the RUWA brand of braiding hair. I definitely recommend.

5 Pros: 1. Everything is well organized. Meaning if you need lipstick from a certain brand you as a customer can find what you need. 2. They have a lot of natural hair products such as ( Cantu, Creme Of Nature, Kinky Curly, Miss Jessie's, Jojoba Oil, Tropical Isle and etc. 3. The employees are super helpful. They are not there to create space, like the beauty (cough) supply (cough,cough) in Rosedale (gagging). I don't have to find someone to help me, they find the customer and make it known " If you need anything, I'm here." 4. Great place to go to for affordable makeup and accessories. This girl right here (points at herself) refuses to pay more than $10 for lipstick, eyeliner, mascara, lipliner unless it will guarantee a "refill." I had an experience where I purchased a Mac Lipstick for $25.00 and the snap inside of it broke. From then on, I had to smear my lipstick on my palm or it would fall out. For the $2.00 Nude Lipsticks, and NYX for $5.00 I purchased from there, it stays longer and I can go there and purchase the same color without the thought of it being "discontinued." 5. Welcoming Environment: I'm able to come in the morning, or late at night and still get what I needed without any attitude or difficulties (cough). When I was first referred to this salon, I was a bit hesitant because I had always presumed that all the "good" beauty supply stores were located in Jamaica -- boy was I wrong! This is bar none the most comprehensive. Waugh supply store I have ever visited. They have EVERYTHING and their staff is super friendly and knowledgeable. The hours are good and I can always find what I'm looking for at this store. The store is impeccably organized and I definitely spent no less than 30 minutes browsing and shopping the aisles on my first visit. Good selection of items I see a lot of their prices went up(which is expected in this economy) but some more than actually just buying it directly from the company itself lol which doesn't make sense. However my biggest issue is how they have someone follow you around the store.. (I'm black) and they hired another poc to do it so we can't say they're racist(they're Chinese ofc). It's not even hidden that they're following you around. The worker of color will sit and ask you a million times what you need and follow you aisle to aisle even though you told them you're good. Sometimes in the beauty supply store you're just looking for new products so you don't know what you want. Feel beauty at Green Acres is CRAZY overpriced, but how this beauty supply store makes me feel I rather pay extreme over market price over there then feel like they think I'm a thief from the moment I walk through the door. I come here often and they have a large supply of hair products that I use. The woman at the register is so sweet and always remembers me. The other women that work here are very helpful and courteous. They have an extremely annoying little Spanish guy that works here that literally follows you around. He comes into the aisle and will literally just watch you. At the very least if you are going to do that ask me if I need help. read more

When going into there, I was hoping maybe they had some hair dye. We asked where the semi-permanent hair dye was, and the woman knew exactly where it was and led us to the section. There was a huge variety of colors and had the 2 colors I needed, for $4 each! And it was a decent amount of hair dye! I found all the other supplies I needed. The staff was very nice and knew everything inside and out. Not only did the woman know about the store, but knew how to answer questions about hair dye correctly! Was waiting for the bus one day on my way home from work a few months ago back when I used to live in NY, so I decided to drop by this store....and ended up spending a good 40 minutes in the store and missing my bus! I was so amazed at the selection of products and the affordable prices. The owners are also superrrrr nice and try to help you with anything!!
