Very disappointing and upsetting experience. My wife was referred here by our OB during pregnancy, and instead of feeling supported, she left appointments emotionally stressed and afraid. In our experience, the communication was unprofessional and unnecessarily alarming. We felt information was presented in a way that created fear and pressure for more tests and labs, instead of giving clear, balanced guidance. Thankfully our first baby was healthy, but we experienced the same pattern again during the second pregnancy. Pregnancy is already emotional and stressful. Patients deserve compassion, respect, and honest communication -- not to feel like they are being treated as an invoice. We are seriously considering filing a formal complaint with the medical board. read more

Was referred here by my regular OB for an anatomy scan. Was the most painful ultrasound I've ever had. The tech pressed into my stomach so hard I had bruises the next day. Even when I winced she pressed harder. The after the scan the tech just left the room with the door wide open and lights off while I had to readjust my clothes while everyone in the lobby could see. I've never even heard of this business and somehow started receiving patient portal text messages less than 24 hrs. after I browsed 3 specific medical clinics that have nothing to do with this business nor are they even located in the same city. No idea how Valley Perinatal got my phone # and information. This feels very intrusive and breaches trust of potential patients if someone is tracking data and giving personal information out to random medical clinics. read more

It can get busy, but they're so efficient. I unfortunately had an ultrasound that didn't end well, and the entire staff immediately shifted their energy when they saw me. I felt so seen, and so cared for. It's staffed by some of the kindest, most empathetic people. read more

Useless. Waste of time and money for gestational diabetes. First off they had my wife watch a YouTube video on zoom while they watched her watch it. "Too many ppl are asking questions from this video so we're gonna make sure you watch it." They also said "if you have any questions we'll send you back to the video." The only way my wife was able to get answers to her was questions was because of Reddit. We never spoke to an actual doctor. Half the time you're talking to a PA on zoom. All the nurses are clueless about gestational diabetes. They kept calling her diabetic. If you know anything about the two, you know they're different. We know they see lots of people every week but my wife felt like a number. They never looked at her food logs and just said "eat x or y" which was usually on the food log or "don't forget to add a protein" which she also did. Which they would have known had they looked at the food logs. The office itself is a lot not great. There's a lot of water damage on the ceiling. It's also warm. The nurses don't communicate with each other and you'll get called back while in a different room. Which then leads to missed appointments and longer wait times. We waited for 90 minutes for a zoom call. Overall, avoid this place if possible. Ask your OBGYN if they refer to this place and if they do reconsider your OBGYN. read more

Honestly this place is awful. I saw Dr. Strong and I was considered a high risk pregnancy because I developed hyperthyroidism. He convinced me to stop taking my medication and that I had Graves' disease. So the meds I was taking would affect my baby. My baby's heartbeat stopped at 18 weeks (5 months pregnant). She measured at 17weeks when her heart stopped and it was the worse day of my LIFE! They were never prepared for lab work or results, he joked about ginger creating too much estrogen and basically used our sessions to talk about his lies. He had told me a story/experience and at a later date had no idea what I was talking about when I mentioned it again. I reminded him that he told me about an experience and he tried playing it off. I knew then, I needed to get a second opinion and by that time it was too late. It's sad because this place is near my house and a constant reminder of the error I made trusting these people. Be careful! Don't trust a doctor just because they have "years experience or the education" they truly could care less and herd you in like cows read more

Sharon was our angel today. We were nervous going here after reading the reviews. To put things into perspective, this is a place that specializes in high risk pregnancies and unfortunately those don't always end the way we hope. We were referred to this location by our obgyn when they didn't get the images wanted to ensure baby was healthy in all of the ways. The front desk was so polite and kind and Sharon (our Ultrasound master) listened to our fears, joked around with us and created a very warm environment. We're go grateful that everything looks great and our visit was full of positive news and beautiful images. God bless anyone who doesn't have the same experience. read more

Just got turned away from my appointment that was scheduled for 2:00. Was in the building when I was called saying I was late at 1:45. Refused to see me even though miscommunication was on their end and I drove 5 cities away to be seen (and early based on all of my reminders). Called back to speak with another employee and also a manager who both said this shouldn't have happened. Lady was very rude and not listening or responding to anything I had to say. I would recommend finding another place to go, I will not be returning. read more

Mine and my wife's experience was infuriating to say the least. Outside of going way overboard in their recommendations in basils and carb ratios, my wife had a seizure one night because she rapidly dropped to 20. This experience was obviously scary, and we were concerned about going forward with levels this practice recommended/ concerned about our child. When we called them to get an appt the next morning, they refused to see us, AND said we would have to get a referral from my wife's OB for them to see us. WE ARE ALREADY YOUR PATIENTS!! There is no excuse for it. THE OB was absolutely blown away by the fact that they asked us do this, because she does nothing with diabetes. We understand that most of their patients are emergent in the sense that they are high risk, but they knew we were running low and we had a seizure! We needed the Dr to be involved, and they refused. Absolutely blows my mind. Needless to say we have decided to go with a different practice, and they spent over 2 hrs actually asking questions about my wife's experience in pregnancy. -1 star. Absolute shit show. Apparently the nurses or MA's do not communicate with the doctors and vice versa. They can't even schedule you ahead of time because it's by basis off of the appointment your going for. They email you and call you weekly but they have to ask you what's going on. You'd imagine they'd chart or note everything and they'd have access to it, in order to maintain stability with the information given and provided. They would start me with an insulin dose and then wouldn't even let me start it or continue it before they'd bump it up. If they are professionals then wouldn't you think that they'd be more mindful and caring about their patients? I'm not sure why OB's refer this facility. It's a waste of time, money, stress and brain cells. This is a perfect example of how not to run a medical business. read more

I feel cared for and welcomed every time I visit this office. Everyone is friendly and professional, from the front staff to all the technicians and doctors. Dr. G is amazing! He's positive and optimistic, but doesn't give me false hope either. I have a blood work diagnosis for a possible Down syndrome baby and I chose to not have an amniocentesis to confirm. Dr. G didn't pressure me into getting it either. Even though he highly recommended it, it was still my choice. He has been careful with his words when talking to me about my baby's overall health and I'm so grateful that he's not calling my baby a definite downs baby. I'm in love with my unborn baby regardless, but I'm holding on to faith and know that God has the last say and tests are sometimes false positives. I appreciate everything this office has done for me and my baby. Everyone is nice and caring! read more

The front desk kept my drivers license and ID. I didn't realize until the end of the day. I called and they confirmed they had it. I guess it was too much for them to give me a courtesy call when they realized they still had it. When I picked up the front desk gave it back, no acknowledgement of their mistake or an apology. read more

I am pregnant with twins and have been going to this location, with the exception of 1 visit, for all of my ultrasounds. A new tech that I haven't worked with except the last couple of times has been an horrendous experience. She completed 2 BPPs along with 2 growth scans in 15 minutes. After arguing with me about my growth scan NOT being scheduled after confirming with the front desk at check-in that I in fact scheduled my growth scan. My husband and I also shared that we've had issues with this practice and actually sending my report to which this tech blamed my OB practice, I'm like this has been an ongoing issue since I've come here. Like for real take some ownership and accountability somewhere! And stop arguing with patients if I wasn't 35 weeks pregnant with twins I'd be reaching out to the co-founder and you better believe if you complete my appointment which is supposed to take an hour in 15 minutes I WILL have some words for Dr Elliot! My appointment is at 11:30 to which I rarely am called back on time and only with this technician am I out right before 12pm. The health of my twins are not contingent on your lunch plans or having an extended lunch. Do your job and do it well because my kids lives depend on it and if ANYTHING comes back showing my children are NOT healthy I'm taking this to this practices from door! I've gone to the hospital several times and for this tech to be the ONLY person who can "do their job" in 15 minutes isn't someone want looking after my kids in my womb. Bullshit read more

I would not recommend. My ob sent me to Valley for a high risk pregnancy. The FNP is terrible. She provides less than the minimum, does not upload notes, review ultrasounds, and pads her bills. When I called billing department for them to review bill they were rude and hostile. The ultrasound techs were very nice. After 3 visits, I won't be returning. Please have doctor send you elsewhere. read more

All I can say is Sarah G for scheduling , I was so eager to get into an earlier appointment. It was set for a Friday, an I needed it sooner I called several times that day an they kept telling me nothing available sooner. I called back later around 2-3pm an Sarah got me right in. This place is terrible and the staff is very incentive. My wife came here for an ultrasound for our 3rd baby. The Dr. found something that had to do with our babies kidneys and the nurses never notated anything about it. The staff were extremely rude to my wife and wouldn't give her our ultrasound pictures. After countless times of calling and being ignored they finally sent us a CD with formats that should contain the pictures but we weren't able to download them onto our computer. After going back they said that all they could do is email somebody but nothing ever happened. I do not recommend this place. If I could leave no stars I would. read more

I wish I could give five stars based on the interactions I had with some staff however I can't. The moment we walked in the waiting room was full. There were children screaming everywhere and a man there with his wife talking on his phone basically yelling at the person on the other end. We got lucky to find a place to sit when a family got called back. It just wasn't a good environment especially when you're stressed about your pregnancy and there for the first time to help get answers. I just wish the front office staff would have stepped in and asked the man on the phone to take it outside and for the grandma with the toddler who was screaming for 20 minutes to go out as well because obviously these people don't have common sense. However, what kept this from getting no stars was the ultrasound tech Rene and Dr. Strong. I could tell right away on the ultrasound that there was no heartbeat and that our baby was gone. Rene was very kind and allowed us to sit in the room while she went to find Dr. Strong. She came back a few minutes later and said she wouldn't make us wait in the waiting room for the doctor and instead found an unused room for us to sit in so we could grieve in private. Her demeanor and kindness was much appreciated. Dr. Strong had a good demeanor as well and he really took his time. There was nothing he could do of course but he discussed what our options were and answered our questions. He said he would try to call my referring OB before they closed (in 5 minutes) so that they could manage my miscarriage and he lead us out a separate exit so that we didn't have to walk back through the main (chaotic) waiting room. My referring OB called me right away this morning to get me in so I appreciate how quick this office was with sending the reports over. read more

I just want to thank Dr.Strong for having such an awesome personality and always reassured my husband and I about anything he was informing us about... I would highly recommend this office to any of my friends, the staff is great also, no one has a bad attitude everyone is very friendly I'm just satisfied overall with all my visits here at the Glendale office. I am very happy with the care I've received at the Eugie location. A high risk pregnancy can be incredibly stressful. While it still can be scary sometimes, Val, Dr.G and the ultrasound techs are exceptionally knowledgeable, kind and supportive. The only reason I give Valley Perinatal 4 instead of 5 stars is the front desk staff. They don't seem to have much knowledge of Diabetes. Every time I go in they keep my insulin pump for far too long, choosing to take phone calls or check out patients instead of downloading the information the Doctor needs from my pump. They have even left it sitting at the desk completely unattended. Not only am I not receiving the insulin I need when I'm disconnected but it's a $10,000 piece of equipment. I wish they would better educate their staff on diabetes and customer service. read more

Dr. Ravi Gunatilake (Dr. G) is an amazing perinatologist. When I met Dr. G I didn't know what to expect but immediately felt comfortable with him and confident in the care I would receive. He has been very informative and helpful throughout my multiple pregnancy. He is also up front and tells it like it is. That's important when you want to know what's going on with your baby/babies. Dr. G is also very patient and genuinely cares about his patients. Side note, he gives the best hugs too. I am grateful that I was referred to him by my OB. read more

Horrible place! Does the exact same thing as other OBGYNs but will charge MORE since it's for higher risk gestational diabetic patients. No one told me how much I was going to pay out of pocket when they took my insurance card before my deductible was met and was sent a bill weeks later for $600 for one visit! $200 is what I expected but $600!? $200 alone just to walk through their door. My husband called and the representative Kayla I believe was disrespectful to him from the start and told him "he knew nothing" about insurance and said "we don't need to tell you anything" when he asked her why they didn't let us know upfront that we would have to come out of pocket a significantly higher amount, since we haven't met our deductible. When my husband asked for a supervisor she hung up on him (which is something you can never deny a customer). My husband had to call back to request a supervisor and she offered us a compromise. I am VERY DISAPPOINTED and ANGRY in the service today from that rep Kayla and also the day of my appointment when no one informed me that the cost may be "high" due to the deductible not being met and it being a more expensive facility, which they admitted on the phone today. I will make sure everyone I know knows about this place and what they do to their clients. It is NOT acceptable to not tell the client there will be a huge upfront cost during the visit (especially when they see the deductible is high or hasn't been met and/or hang up on them when they ask for a supervisor. I will report the facility to the BBB. read more

This place is UTTERLY awful. I'm 35 and considered old to be pregnant and discovered I am having twins with serious potential genetic issues. We did the bloodwork on 10/25 and was told it could take 7-10 days to receive results but could login to the see the results, but would not be available to see until the Dr. calls to read/explain them. I checked the login on 11/4 and it read that results have been ready since 11/3. I emailed the Dr on 11/4 to call me to explain them to me and it is now 11/6 with no call to explain potential genetic issues and what to do next for my babies. EVERY TIME you call this place, you are on hold for ATLEAST 35 mins and then it just goes to voicemail and you don't even get a call back regarding your voice message. This place is just terrible. The doctors do not even respond timely via email. They act as if everything is grave but when you call, you can never get through or even a call back. Forget this place and go elsewhere!! read more

I have a high risk pregnancy with twins. My OB sent them a referral for scans and to be comanaged by the doctor at Valley Perinatal, meaning I would see the doctor after I did my scan at every visit. When Valley Perinatal called me to schedule my first visit they didn't have me down to see the doctor. I called my OB and he confirmed he wanted me seen by their doctor. My OB sent the referral over another 2 times to make sure they got the information right. In the last 2 weeks I have had 4 ultrasound appointments, and was scheduled to see the doctor on 1 occasion. On the 3 other occasions they made me come back to the office 2 hours later, wait 1.5 hours until the doctor could fit me in, and wait 45 min until the doctor got to the office. Not to mention I'm on STRICT BEDREST and need to be laying down 24/7. When I have to wait and come back, I'm putting myself at higher risk for preterm labor... because they don't know how to schedule a simple appointment. The doctor is VERY nice and knowledgeable, the offices scheduling staff SUCKS. DO NOT GO HERE!!!! read more

Dr. Elliot is an amazing man with knowledge and a kind heart. He shoots from the hip and will answer questions directly. When it came to my personal experience, he was the perfect fit. Sadly, we tried everything we could to save my baby boy at 16 weeks, but all the interventions did not work. Dr. Elliot and his staff gave me and my husband an amazing amount of grace and tissues as we heard the sad news. I am grateful to Dr. Elliot and his crew for making me feel comfortable and pulling out all the stops to help my unborn son. You are in very safe hands here with this team. read more

Can't say I can leave a good review. We had an appointment with Dr. Gunatilake and he agreed that I could continue on the medication that I was on. I told him that I would need a prior authorization for it, as I had needed one before. He agreed he would send one in. I wait about a week when I'm almost out of the medication and send in a quiery to my pharmacy as to why they haven't called that it's been filled yet, they tell me it's an insurance issue. I call insurance and they told me that they never received a prior authorization and that they would fax over the paperwork to the doctor again to get it filled out. I call Valley Perinatal, and after being on hold waiting for about 30 minutes for them to answer, I give up and decide to drive there. I talked to the front desk, who stated they never received the paperwork and just got of the phone with the insurance who was sending paperwork over again. Okay, cool. I leave and then after two days I call the insurance back and they STILL haven't received paperwork, AND my claim got denied due to it not being turned in on time. On my drive into work that day, I call Valley Perinatal and I'm on hold my ENTIRE drive, which is 40 minutes. Ridiculous. I finally get through and they put me on hold again for about 10 minutes looking for someone to answer my questions. Tony, who is the doctor's assistant or something, gets on the phone and tells me that Dr. G won't put in the authorization now because there is no evidence that I need it, even though I've been on it, PER my Reproductive Endo since my BFP, and he was continuing me on it until 20 weeks, which is coming up shortly. He told me to find a new doctor and they would further my meds. What I don't understand is WHY would you agree with someone to their face to prescribe them the meds, which they obviously need to keep their pregnancy going, and then don't fill out the paperwork? I had another appointment scheduled, but I'm definitely not showing up after that treatment. I hope everyone steers clear of this place, or at least, I hope you have a better experience than apparently a lot of people on this review site. I can say that the lady who did my ultrasound was awesome though, and super friendly. I'm not sure what her name was. read more

This place is an absolute joke! If you have any option to go somewhere else- definitely pick a different high risk OB. The front office is completely unprofessional and rude. The Glendale office messed up 2 of my appts and tried placing blame on me as the patient rather than take responsibility for their own scheduling errors! My first appt was scheduled with an ultrasound first and then an OB visit following- I arrived 15min early to do paperwork and they called me back for the ultrasound prior to me completing it all. My ultrasound took Approx 45 min in my 1 hour slotted time. I finished my appt for me to go to the desk and they told me the Dr had an emergency and they would need to reschedule (it took a month to get into this office as is!) and she didn't have availability for another month. When I stated my frustration she told me I was supposed to be in the office 30min prior to the appt- now it was made to be my fault the doctor couldn't see me! I had to reschedule and go to the Phoenix office the following day (Which is 45 min further for me!) That appt went fairly well and I saw Dr. Patel who was actually very kind! I scheduled for a follow up the following week with their office but for the Glendale location due to the commute- the appt was set for 11am (nothing else was said). Come follow up appt day- I am 3 minutes from the Glendale office and I get a call 10:50a saying I was supposed to be there 15min early at 10:45 and they would need to reschedule me!!!! I told them I'm almost there and would still be early before my 11am appt! She still said I needed to be there at 10:45 to be seen regardless of my 11am appt time! I was in the office at 10:55- I was then told the provider (ronda) refused to see me! I was still 5 min early for my appt!!! How can you refuse to see someone 5 min BEFORE their appointment?!?! I wasn't even late!! They said the providers like patients to be 15min early always even if I wasn't told that by the scheduler. That was never expressed to me other than the initial appt with paperwork! The front desk was rude and not accommodating what so ever! I made it prior to my appt time and with a toddler in tow and they still refused to see me! After getting upset and crying over the frustration of every appt at that office and needing to be seen to get my insulin meds adjusted- they had no empathy or a care in the world for me or their mistakes!! When I mentioned leaving their practice and requested my medical records- she had no problem printing them off and saying Bye! They clearly do NOT care or value their patients!! I highly recommend going to another practice and staying clear of this one. Avoid the extra stress this office will create for you! read more

I was referred to Valley perinatal after my OB discovered I had a shirt cervix and needed closer monitoring Dr G advised my of a plan and at 26 weeks I had a cerclage placed at first Dr G seemed " rough around the edges" but when it came time for surgery he was wonderful although I would say his front desk staff needs some improvements multiple times I was asked to change my appointments because of someone else needing to be seen before me. I obliged once but the next time declined to do it. Once I was even "forgotten" I was in the waiting room. They do not usually greet you just simply ask you if your insurance information,address etc have changed and the front desk ladies & gentlemen speak Spanish in front of other patients (which me being Hispanic find it rude when you speak Spanish (or any other language) in front of people who do not understand especially when you are carrying on a conversation about that specific patient or what you did over the weekend) the highlight of the office was the ultrasound technician we had on more than one occasion (Heather) she was wonderful friendly,funny, easy going & very gentle while doing the ultrasound on our little man also she took her time trying to get the best photos for us even making us laugh in the process. as you can see with a majority of the reviews. don't go to this place. awful! extremely unorganized. the different locations don't even keep in contact with each other. which wouldn't matter if they didn't reschedule my appointment 4 times! my original appointment was just over the phone, i waited on hold for 45 minutes for them to tell me the doctor couldn't talk to me. i understood things happen and happily rescheduled. after this happened 2 more times i finally got my appointment, the only one available was in mesa, i live in phoenix. they said it had to be in the office, it couldn't be over the phone. i was about 10 minutes away from the office and they called and asked if i was ready for my phone consultation. they had no idea they originally told me I HAD TO GO TO THE OFFICE. i show up to the office and they walk me into the room where i'd be meeting the doctor. there's nothing in there but a laptop. LMFAO! after talking to the doctor via zoom (which i could have done from home) i realized how unprepared they were, the computer kept locking and nurses had to come in and set it up again. the doctor was extremely rude and very judgmental of my situation. i will NEVER go there again. i'm sorry to anyone else who had to interact with any of those people. read more

They called multiple times to change my different appointments and then when they committed a scheduling error, they could not effectively accommodate my ultrasound. How hard is it to get it right? My OB referred me here when they didn't have the capacity to do the amount of testing I needed. From the moment I called to make my first appointment, the staff was aloof and seemed uncaring. This has continued throughout my 2 visits per week. Today they forgot to take me back for my NST and left me sitting an extra 30 minutes in the waiting room. Each NST I have had has been disrupted by staff needing supplies or bringing items into the room. And not one time have I seen any medical professional aside from when I needed an ultrasound. The front desk staff are the ones doing the testing. The can't seem to get me paperwork right and yet they are the ones that are dealing with my medical needs. Do not go here. I will not be scheduling anymore appointments here. read more

We were recommended by our OBGYN to go to this place for answers after suffering 3 miscarriages. The staff and doctors did not seem to be on any kind of communication schedule between not only us, but each other as well. We were told to go sit in the waiting room multiple times between vital checks and consultations and exams. This was all done by different people, none of which knew exactly what was the next step in the process. When we did meet with the "Doctor" he did not introduce himself or shake our hands. We were made to feel like just another number instead of being cared for. We needed someone to be compassionate and understanding at the least and that was not offered at this location. read more
