Even if they say nice things, it's because management makes them say certain things. I get it. The reason I'm going out of my way to leave a message is because my checker today was Benjamin! I've never met him before, but with a completely straight face, he's cracking jokes. He didn't say anything inappropriate. He wasn't loud or boisterous. He's just calm and calculating. I left the store with a smile and a better attitude. Benjamin improved my day, and he didn't have to! Clean floors or bright bathrooms won't bring me into your store. Great prices will get me to shop, but hard working staff that can make me laugh WILL KEEP ME COMING BACK!

Walmart is some of the laziest people in the world and don't care about helping there customers at all. I drove up to Spokane from Sacramento so I could visit some of my friends who moved up here. When I…read morearrived, I heard talk of a Fred Meyer and how it's nothing like what we had in California. So obviously I had to to go check it out and see why it was so noteworthy. My takeaways, It's pretty similar to the bigger Walmart's. Lots of sections for light bulbs, rugs, candles, toys, games, etc. The rest of the first floor is filled with a lot more food items than a Walmart, much like a real grocery store. But then the second floor is filled with tons of generic clothing. It's such a chaotic store, yet amazing to someone who is not from Washington. I was surprised to see tons of products I grew up on, yet haven't seen in over a decade were here. As well as a bunch of products that I've never even seen before. So obviously I bought a ton of stuff to try. The building as also super clean which is a huge plus of course. Now for the negatives. The second story full of clothing seems so out of place. All of the clothing is so generic, yet more expensive than a lot of other places around here I've noticed. To be fair, ever person from Washington I've talked to says they never go to the clothing section. But that makes me wonder whose buying their clothes then. All of the clothing looks like the generic clothes that NPC's wear in video games. The other drawback is that they seem to be super understaffed. Only 1 person at self check out, as well as a single checker/bagger were there. Of course they had a couple other staff members who were probably doing things such as inventory, stock, etc. But there definitely wasn't a lot of people for checking out. Overall, It's a cool place to visit and I'll enjoy it while I'm up here.

Before I had a chance to grab the receipt( that she didn't bother checking) before she bullied my wife into paying for, just to find out after she looked at our receipt that we had in fact paid for it. By this time we were mortified,the pure animosity and accusatory way in which this cashier treated us will leave a scar. She cut everything up like a chopped salad. We also bought a container of watermelon cut up in bite size pieces which was a welcome addition after a long ride. The park in front offers clean bathrooms and very shaded picnic benches. The views were spectacular. It appears many locals stop here for quick groceries and beer. So imagine my surprise when I discovered even here in the back woods of the Idaho Panhandle I could find my favorite Pepsi Max! And not only that, but a discounted price of $3.99 per 12-can cube! These puppies are often $6.99 per cube at Safeway, Bel Air or even $7.99 at Raleys back here in Sacramento! Considering I had driven up here to trek through Oregon, Washington and Idaho, I had the car and was just able to pop 4 of these cubes in the trunk for the trek home! MUNCHIES Oh yeah. It had a pretty good variety of groceries and a bakery and deli too. The ambience was decently busy on this New Year's Eve morning. With my sweet tooth, I couldn't help but to try some donuts. I went with a maple bacon bar, regular maple bar, and a lemon filled bismarck. Service was great as I rang the service bell, a clerk came out promptly and was nice and friendly. The maple bacon bar was delicious; the perfect balance of salty and sweet in one bite! The bacon gave it a good crunch and a slight smokey taste, but in a good way. As for the lemon bismarck, I love lemon anything. This lemon-filled donut was pretty good and did not leave that weird lemony after taste as some lemon do if you know what I mean. The ratio of filling to dough was perfect. I hate when the donut barely has any filling inside, but this one didn't disappoint!
