This time it was doing away with the original sportsbook, and relocating it against a nondescript wall deeper in the casino. Not a good look for us bettors. I was told that Station casinos has taken over this aspect of of our gambling vice. In so doing, I'm thinking Casablanca has given it the Ol' heave ho. The sportsbook has been transformed into a comicbook. Good ridden to the bank of TV's. Out you go ample seating. So long talley board giving the spreads. Usher in the new and unimproved thimble experience. A few roundtop tables, and I wonder what the line on the game is? In the place of the old sportsbook location, installed are yet more uninspiring slots. Yes slots are the bread and butter of a casino. But bread gets stale and butter will turn rancid before long. Before you know it, the Casablanca will lean toward its one time neighbor The Oasis. That remnant is a blight on the landscape of Mesquite. However that infection could spread west if ownership doesn't quit tinkering with what made this casino resort a success. The renovated rooms are nice, and getting rid of the buffet was probably the right decision. What's lacking is the once old school ambiance. Adding new this and new that may not have the desired effect. What may happen is that we'll decide to stay home and gamble on our phones. Or better yet, gamble on our phones while in a national park or sitting on a beach in Hawaii. With diminishing returns hovering, it may not be prudent to gamble on repeat business. Quick Tip: If you want a quiet place to hang, visit the business center next to the elevators. In all the years that I've been visiting, I've yet to see anyone (other than myself) in there. You could literally have a party and not have to worry about being disturbed. It's also five times bigger that the new sportsbook!

And we certainly let the food and manager know about the incredible service staff that we had. We both had massages and facials at the spa and I highly highly recommend. Kitchens and living rooms in each suite (studio, one-bedroom, or two bedroom), well-maintained grounds: two pools, one heated, one with waterfall, hot tub, shuffleboard and tennis courts, nice sitting areas inside or outside the hotel. Each suite is furnished differently by separate owners, but whether a studio, 1- or 2-bedroom, all come with a fully furnished kitchen right down to the dishes/flatware and spatulas, pots & pans, toaster and coffee maker. If traveling with a group, or for extended stays, there's comfortable sitting areas on each floor, a library with fireplace, and a laundry room on 2nd and 3rd floors (bring your own detergent). Best of all, the price is comparable to a common one-room motel room at other motels. You couldn't ask for a better bargain. We very much enjoyed our stay! Will stay again.

This time, I decided to stay at Mesquite, NV which is about 40 miles south of St. George or about 80 miles north of Las Vegas. Hotwire led me here as I like surprise:XD Upon walking in the lobby, my first impression was...is this the retirement home!? the interior has that old fashioned style, wide hallway with tiles instead carpet on the first floor, a library...etc I got suite #210, which is exactly like a one bedroom apartment with full sized kitchen, dining table, living room, bed room, walking in closet and a full sized bath. It's spacious! I assume this property was designed for assistant living and later changed to a hotel. It's freaking hot in Mesquite, NV even after the sun goes down. The air was still hot like inside the oven. The ac worked really well and of course this place is very quiet. The next morning, after checking out, I was on the way heading home. While pulling onto the 15 freeway I all the sudden remembered I left my charging cable in the room! Drove back from the next freeway exit, I told the front desk lady and she immediately made me a key to go up to the room to retrieve my cable. When I got there, the housekeeper was already outside and handed me my cable. If you are not looking for anything fancy, modern and elaborate, this is a good place! For clean, classic and awesome rate, I can see myself coming back for another good night sleep:) P.s there's no charging port on the bedside table, I had to unplug the alarm clock and that's how I forgot my cable :XD

Trust the recent bad reviews. The Hampton currently is charging FULL price for a half-open,…read morehorribly ran hotel. Upon our arrival you're waiting for 30 minutes because there is one desk associate handling the 3PM check in surge on a holiday weekend. When the front desk associate gave us our amenities rundown, she mentioned the jacuzzi was out of service. Bummer. No big deal though. I had to ask about the splash pad myself which she said was ALSO not working. Not sure why she failed to mention that. Our first impression of the room was vomit. The room permeated of sitting stomach acid l, the cleaning crew didn't handle the previous stayers issues apparently. Yuck. But we persisted to stay positive and make our way to the pool. Our first sight at the pool was an overcrowded mess, way over the max occupancy with murky dirty pool water, and a half filled pungent dirty jacuzzi. Apparently they didn't want to block off the potential health hazard of hazardous, dirty standing water in the Jaccuzi? Not to mention a huge falling hazard. But it gets better. Now we get hit with a nice bloom of a smoke cloud since adjacent guests were smoking BLUNTS poolside next to kids. No staff intervention. We proceeded to turn around and leave the hotel entirely. I cannot believe how terribly ran this establishment is being a Hilton owned hotel. If you think this will have that Hilton touch, you will be unpleasantly surprised. Off to another hotel that isn't overcharging for a half open establishment.

It took me a minute or so before I even realized I was talking to an AI - this was the most interactive AI I've encountered to date. Great speaking voice and had zero problems answering several random questions asked in natural language. Really only knew it was an AI when it stuttered on reading back my credit card number. Check in desk staff was super friendly and helpful. We have 2 small dogs so they put us in pet friendly room that was clean with vinyl flooring so any accidents would be easy to clean up. (Not that this is an issue with our dogs but I always question hotels that have carpet in a pet friendly room - like what were you thinking?) Bed was comfy. Water pressure was fine. There was a big dirt lot right next to the rooms where dogs could potty. If I was forced to find a single gripe about this place it would be about the other guests - not the hotel. Rude dudes with big dogs who think leash rules don't apply to them. (Parade your over-compensation around on a leash next time, eh buddy?) I plan on making this place a regular stop in the future. Highly recommend.

Unfortunately, there were no other rooms available anywhere in town and I didn't want to keep driving so late at night. In all honesty, if I were ever to find myself driving through this town and could not keep driving, I would not stay here again if the room was free and they promised me that it had just been cleaned. I would rather sleep in my car. I have no doubt whatsoever that they don't even clean the rooms. I would bet a month's pay that the sheets only get changed when there is dirt visible on them. Almost nothing worked in the room I stayed in (room number 2). The microwave was broken, but I didn't need it. The front window was broken, the lamp by the bed had to be fiddled with a lot just to get it to work. The worst part, which I find completely unforgivable, was that the disgusting shower that I was desperate enough to even try to use, had zero hot water. It wasn't like "oh, this water is kind of cold, that sucks ", it was obvious that the hot water to the shower was not even hooked up. I ran it for ten minutes and nothing. Only ice cold water. The sink water warmed up after about five minutes, but the shower got nothing. I stayed here 2/24/2017. The place is a dump, and shouldn't even be in business. If you read this and decide to stay here anyway, I feel very sorry for you. You can understand why the sign saying NO REFUNDS is so prominently displayed where you check in. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!!!
