We've had our children at this daycare before and after school for over three years, and they still really enjoy being there. Frankland daycare is like a hidden gem... almost literally hidden in the unattractive portables right next to the school. While they're ugly on the outside, the inside is similar to other daycares. What's more important is the location. It's a big advantage if your child goes to Frankland, and even more so for kindergartens. The room for that age group is actually in a Frankland classroom so they don't even have to leave the main building! And while most daycares have little if any outdoor space, this one has the whole Frankland soccer/baseball field and three different playgrounds for supervised play. We recommend it highly!

The last daycare was double in price, and did not have the same kind of strong programming that Bouts d'Choux does. The preschool group charges $817 a month, to give you an idea. I would not hesitate to recommend this place to friends and family: I fully trust the way this daycare is organised. The caregivers have been chosen with the right care. It's humbling to see the way they work together as a team, to care for our kids. My kids have been through each of their 4 categories: infant (poupons), toddler (bambins), preschool (classe prescolaire), and finally the afterschool program (maternelle-jardin, ou 6-12). I work with kids for a living, and can tell that much thought, effort, and pride, goes into planning the daily activities, giving a good variety of socialisation, outdoor play, creative projects, daily stories and songs. Their hot meal plan is included. This place is worth its cost, and more. I genuinely love the francophone environment, and perhaps above all, I love the caregivers there. Their personalities, and how genuine they are with the children there. Avec tout mon coeur, je peux recommander la garderie Bouts d'Choux, pour leur programmation effective, leur passion et amour pour les enfants, et tendresses envers les enfants.

She had such a great time and she raved about the teachers that we decided to enroll our son here for his daycare early (instead of waiting to get off the waiting list at her school). He is thriving here! never a problem with taking him and he actually never wants to leave! (um, what does that say about us? :) I can tell he is learning quite a bit - caught him at 1.5 years trying to count in french, and he can't even speak more than words really (and we are not french speakers, only grandparents). He loves learning via music and their program allows for that! They are priced so well compare to some other private establishments and this is a registered facility, monitored regularly (i know as I happened to see them being inspected once) and they are fully immersing the kids in french - really the teachers actually struggle with English. This is a gem that i think is still hidden.

Not only that but they also offer JK/SK and Lorna is a great teacher. My son learned SO MUCH in one year of JK that he spent there. They create structure, but don't get bogged down by it. They offer life experience and spend as much as possible exploring through play as a teaching tool. Especially in their backyard oasis. They even offer music enrichment classes. One of the great things about friends is that there are children from the age of two to five all in the same room. Again, this offers a family experience. The staff are also excellent. They spend a lot of time working with the needs of you (yes, you) and your child. The staff here can tell exactly what kind of morning both you and your child have had when you arrive. And they truly help out when it's time to say goodbye to your little one. For anyone in the U of T area who wants an affordable and unique daycare experience, I highly recommend Friends.

The teachers were always thoughtful and verbally gave us daily updates about the kid's day at the time of picking them off and were at the door while welcoming them in daily. Regular Instagram posts also gave us a peep into what the kids were doing on a daily basis. One major advantage is the cleanliness of the place. The Montessori is very clean and well maintained. The site is very well maintained and extremely clean. The meals and snacks are carefully planned by a nutritionists who incorporate diverse menu (fish, tofu, various ethnic menus like pad thai) that incorporates seasonal veggies and fruits. I cannot say enough about the staff though - they truly love what they do and it shows. From the day we started transitioning my little one at 12 months, all the teachers have shown nothing but love and care. They make sure each child is engaged and cared for and I am always grateful for all the work that they do with the children. The webcam access to the room is also a bonus (it came really handy during the first few weeks when it was just as much of a transition period for me as it was for my child - I may have spent a good chunk of my day watching/weeping/laughing). Another added bonus is how responsive the head-office is to suggestions. Parents are encouraged to give feedback and suggestions and they are very responsive to parents' inputs. The weekly newsletter also allows us to know what my little one has been learning so that we can reinforce some of the things at home (ex. songs or books that they have been learning). Our oldest (now in SK) moved on to full-day kindergarten and has excelled with the help of the preschool learning he received from the Kids & Co. team. The staff are always very friendly and considerate and always look forward to seeing my older son return to visit them. My youngest son is 3 years old and is currently attending the Preschool class at Kids & Co. Finch. He started off slowly with his language skills but since being at Kids & Co. he has quickly picked it up and is now able to communicate very well for his age. He is very engaged and interested in learning and this is because the staff at Kids & Company make learning fun. The site also offers a delicious and healthy meal plan that keeps the children energized throughout the day as well as regular outdoor play, as weather permits. The rooms are well-kept and there are usually two staff members in the preschool room, which helps keep things manageable and allows the preschoolers to receive special, individual attention, as needed. An added bonus is that the whole facility has recently been renovated and it really looks fantastic. The children are encouraged to play together and are taught to respect one another which in turn enables them to create lasting friendships, even at an early age. In fact, my older son still has play dates and attends birthday parties for friends he met at Kids & Company. My wife and I have been thrilled with the service and staff at Kids & Company - Finch. From the Site Lead, Stephanie, to all the staff members, they go out of their way to ensure that there is always open communication regarding our children, so that we can nurture and develop them together as a team. They are always courteous and professional when addressing any concerns or when relaying information regarding our child. My wife and I are very happy with our decision to send both our boys to Kids & Company and recommend them to anyone who is looking for a top quality daycare to put their child into.
