I am scared to write this review, based on the others that have posted. So far, I have gotten a great time with this office and to see Dr. Hakim. Staff was very kind and fitted me in quickly for Ear infection, and I was seen promptly. Dr. Hakim took the time to listen and answer all of my technical questions. I will rate this office higher, based on if I have any billing issues [from other reviews, seems like that might be a problem?] I have one more followup visit next week and will update review then. Please do note that Dr. Hakim reversed another Dr [outside his office] , and due to his keen decision, it dramatically Improved my care, with a different drug regiment. This is not to be taken lightly, as he paid attention to key details and examined my ears and did some other tests the same day, which he then gave me the Rx for the different drug and that made a huge difference. This place makes Dicks Last Resort feel like child's play. Based on the reviews this place already has I almost didn't review anything, I've been putting it off but today I was cleaning some papers and came across the bill which prompted me to finish what I had wanted to start. The front desk never looked at me in the eyes, and the monster at check out had no manners and didn't even pay attention to the questions I was asking she became rude and I had to check her and put her in her place myself, the rest of the staff was too busy to correct her bad behavior or maybe it's something they see as normal when She was rude and disgusting. I spent $280 to get treated like a Child by this B'tch, I had an appointment to come back with in a month (right about now when I'm writing this review) but as days passed I grew more uncomfortable with the whole situation I canceled the appointment. $280 later The doctor also was attending like 5 patients at the same time and was quick to dismiss me and tell me everything I already knew and shred with him, I walked out of there with the same information I walked in. I'm glad I canceled my follow up. I wish I could rate -5 stars never going back and I wish I could stop others from falling into this pit read more

WOW!!!! I was referred by my Dr to see Valley ENT for an Issue that I have been experiencing for a while now. I was supposed to get a call from their office...I waited 5 business days (way too long) and decided to call the office myself. I spoke to a woman (she was nice) and she stated that I was not in the system yet. She also stated that it was most likely due to the fact that the front desk had not added my information yet. She proceeds to transfer me to the front desk and was hung up on by the front desk. I then call back and am on hold for 27 minutes until a young lady answered the phone sounding as if she was absolutely miserable. I give her my information and start trying to ask questions but was repeatedly cut off rudely and then scolded for calling the office when I did not need to have a referral to make an appt. I tried to explain the reason for my referral and she stated, "Ma'am, I don't care about your referral..." I did not let her go any further, proceeded to tell her how unprofessional she was and that if that was the kind of service I was receiving before being a patient, then I would not ever want to be seen there. The front desk needs some SERIOUS training! Wake up Valley ENT, you are losing valuable patients because your front desk cant seem to get it together. Pay the necessary money to train your staff! It is pathetic! ALL of your 1 star reviews are about the front desk being AWFUL! How many of these do you need to do something about it??? I didn't even get to schedule my appointment because I did not want to even deal with how rude the receptionist it's like couldn't even be bothered. So my daughter got referral to an ENT I called them last Friday to schedule my appointment because my child's pediatrician was like go ahead it's already sent over book the appointment. So I call them the lady was like you need to call back next week I'm not even gonna get to look at it today it's Friday. Whatever that means. So I call back today Wednesday. And the lady on the phone was like what was the referral I need to know the whole detail before I look for it and I said isn't that your job like you usually ask last name first name date of birth. then you look at the referral and then we get into booking the appointment. does your staff really hate their job that much that they are so nasty and lack customer service????!!!!! Avoid at all costs! The office is terrible and a complete waste of time. Staff isn't awful but isn't friendly at all. Didn't feel at all like any actual human interaction with anyone there, nor did they show any desire to be helpful. The doctors quickly checked me out and shot numbing spray up my nose before shoving a camera up there. He didn't even tell me what he was going to do before doing so. Told the staff when I booked I was referred to get a scan due to my headaches and they confirmed they do so in office. I told them when I arrived I wanted a scan and immediately told the doctor that my PCP told me to get a scan. After painfully shoving cameras up my nose, the doc says "you need a scan" no sh*t, doc! Then he says we'll have you come back for that. I said "no, I'd prefer to do it today as I don't have time for back and forth and just want to find the problem." He says that they need to figure out if insurance will cover it first. I tell him the only reason I booked this appt was for the scan and that I'd pay cash in order to do it. He says I have an emergency next door and can't do the scan today. Simply ends the visit with a "we'll call ya!" What a freaking joke! Thank you for nothing. After years of putting this off, I finally made the appointment to address my headache issues and you completely wasted my time. Please don't call me. I should've known when I called to book and waited on hold for 17 minutes before someone answered to avoid this place. My wife has a great ENT in Scottsdale and I should've just made the drive to go see him instead. I was referred to this office by a different doctor to hopefully treat my daily debilitating vertigo episodes. My husband came with me to my first appointment. Dr Cassis seemed courteous and acted like he knew what he was talking about. He threw out several possible causes and referred me for further testing. I had a follow-up appt last week over telehealth. First of all, the guy looked like he did a bender in Tijuana the night prior and was picking food out of his teeth. Gross. Anyways, I quickly learned that the "female hysteria" myth from centuries ago is still alive and well in the year 2023. It was like the compassionate doctor I saw months ago got replaced by a (less handsome) body double with a doctorate in incel theology. Obviously I was alone on camera without a man to advocate for me. He said my testing came back normal so it's likely migraines. Then he said I needed to see a neurologist. I told him I've been seeing a neurologist longer than him and they ruled out migraines. He then said "....ok, but you should see a neurologist." Dude, are you deaf? Then in response to my protests he said he's prescribing me ANTIDEPRESSANTS. The entire (three minute, by the way) appointment he used THE baby voice on me. It's the condescending "I'm a big superior man with a penis so I'm better than you" one. All women know what I'm talking about. Anyways, he was a complete unhelpful jerk and I'm still dealing with vertigo. Plus I have a $300 outstanding balance that I wasn't aware of, as several other reviews have mentioned. read more

I was dealing with allergy issues and chronic seasonal coughing for over 3 years. Finally listen to my dr and saw the ENT Dr Libeling after sinus surgery which helped but still having allergy issues Refered me to Dr Amy Shah. Here is where after testing and starting treatment for the particular allergy symptoms finally relief!!!!!!!! My coughing and drainage is 90% improved. Her Ma Crystal is top notch and very professional explains what we are doing and cares about follow up treatments. They are a great team and love the communication I receive. read more

I am so sick and tired of incompetent service and health care administration. I had appt with ENT Dr Hakim (who was great and I would recommend). But his staff is front desk staff is terrible and incompetent. Hakim referred me to an allergist in his office, I scheduled with his office for the allergist and then when I get there they tell me a I needed a referral from my pcp not Hakim. She then says to me "I don't know who scheduled your appt" -like that really matters. Just passing the Buck and not taking responsibility for her employer. And the only person who scheduled appts is sitting right there. I tell her that lady right there is the one who scheduled me and this lady chimes and says I have been here for 8 years I always tell people they need to call their pcp for a referral. Well sorry lady but maybe you messed up -once again no one takes responsibility!!!! And they always pass the Buck. What ever happened to training your employees that the customer is always right EVEN when you know that they may not be. That Art is gone. People understand "happy wife - happy life". But dot value the importance of happy customers and especially in the healthcare industry. I ask why would I not make a call when I am told and I know that I can't have the appt service without it? I am not stupid people. All I ask is that they work with me to resolve, don't blame me for your incompetence and serve my health care needs. The employees at the front desk are like to it's here and the one gal who checks you in mumbles to where you cannot understand her. I went in for an appointment here about 10 months ago. I paid the copay, never got any bills via mail or email, never got any calls from the office again, so I assumed my insurance covered whatever further payment was needed. Today I got a call from this office saying I had an outstanding payment of $100 and my bill was about to go to collections. They said they had been trying to mail me bills for months but the bills kept being returned to their office. They were sending bills to my dad's name, but at my college campus, so the bills weren't coming to me. They never ONCE called me to ask me why my mail wasn't coming through. They knew about this issue with the address for 10 months, and never called or emailed me. Until today, when they called and told me they would send my bill to collections tomorrow if I didn't set up a payment plan today. I ended up finding the cash to pay, but this is insane. Literally the worst treatment I've received from a medical office. You can't call a college student and demand $100 dollars after nearly a year of silence. But Seriously if you care about your business or if you want to stay in this business ,you probably should train your employees or just hire positive energy / right persons. just like all other reviewers said the staffs is NOT nice at all.I don't even know where should I start? My husband was trying to book an appointment because he suddenly lost hearing in his ear and his audiologist recommended he see an ent ASAP. We were In the car leaving that appointment and we were on Bluetooth speaker when we called this office. The lady on the phone was SO RUDE and reprimanded him for being in the car while trying to book an appointment. She repeatedly made snarky comments and told him he wasn't smart for driving while booking an appointment. I let her know that I was in the car to help give or write down any information , she continued to be rude and we finally hung up and didn't make the appointment. Second time I called to reschedule her appointment as we couldn't make the first appointment, same person answered & she was rude again. Then she went to tell me "well I can't find her referral & we need it to make the appointment" but the first time it was found fine & I made an appointment just fine. Now you can't find it? 2 stars because the Tdoctor we saw was pleasant and answered all of our questions. Our problems began after we left the office. We were billed for a "scratch test" for allergies for my daughter that was not completed. We have talked to the billing department probably 6-8 times where we are assured it will be taken care of but we continue to receive bills. It has been an ongoing issue for about 10 months. We call and leave messages for a call back with the medical assistants but are never called back. We just want the records cleared up and to pay for services actually completed. It was all probably just an innocent mistake to begin with but has turned into a lack of care or concern to actually correct the, now, inaccurate medical records and billing. Poor business practices. This Dr office is a joke. Do NOT go here!!! I have had many issues with this's office. Front office lady was rude, a Dr retired with in a week of seeing him, he asked that I get an MRI done so I did. The radiology place called stating that he ordering Dr cannot be located. So I had to pick up my films and deliver them to the office. I asked who do I give these to? The girl up front took them and said she would give to another Dr to look at. I have never heard back from them so I scheduled an appointment elsewhere. I requested my films be sent to the new Dr office, NOW THEY HAVE NO RECORD OF MY $1k films. Valley ENT ESTRELLA referred me to the Arrowhead location to see Dr. Cassie's, his team is super friendly, his office is currently short staffed but return calls quickly so communication is not an issue. He really did a beautiful job explaining exactly what was going on and how we would go about my treatment. My surgery was set for a Friday at his Gilbert Surgery Center (he does them at Metro Surgery Center as well), but this worked best for my schedule. The whole staff at the facility from start to finish was super sweet, attentive, and positive. Everyone, nurses, med tech, anesthesiology and the doctor came in to explain each step of the way. I had a cholesteatoma removed, I am currently in recover and expect to return to the office within 7 days I will post an update. My overall experience as of now has been good, I put 4 stars b/c his staff took awhile to send me their estimate bill for the surgery and the surgery center sent it 2 weeks in advance which was super nice. Their new patient portal is super convenient to get everything you need vs calling. read more

I cannot review the doctors, since I was never able to actually GET an appointment. I was referred to this office by another medical practice. Every time that I called, I would sit on hold for 10 to 15 minutes before getting a voicemail that requested, I leave a message and they would return my call. I did leave a message explaining that I was referred to this office and needed to make an appointment. Nobody ever called me back. Today I called again...and waited another 10 minutes...when somebody actually picked up the phone and then promptly hung up on me. I called immediately back and got a new message that stated that they were now closed. Hmmm....they could have taken my call during the 10 minutes that I was on hold and they were still open for business. This would have been BEFORE they deliberately hung up on me, so that they could high-tail it out of there and start their week-end early. Not going to waste my time with this place any longer. I will also be letting the medical practice that referred me to this office, know about the behavior of this place's office staff. Looking at the other reviews of this place, I blame the doctors as well, since they allow the staff to continually behave this way. read more

Front office person was so rude to me when I tried to make an appt. She kept calling my daughter "he" as she clearly wasn't listening to what I was saying. After explaining the reason for the appt request, she laughed at me and said "Are you sure you need an ENT, this seems to be a dental issue, you do know what ENT stands for, correct?" Dr. Altman is great. However, the support staff is terrible and the office policy obviously requires unnecessary appointments. Dr. Shah recommended that I try allergy drops. After having been on them for a year she refused to refill my next prescription unless I booked an office visit. At the office visit she just asked me how things were going and I said fine. That was basically it. When I inquired as to why I had to take time off of work to come in to the office she said that was in case I had any questions or was experiencing any other issues. Wouldn't I have requested an appointment and not tried to avoid booking this one if either of those were the case? Let's just call it what it is - your office earns revenue when you bill my insurance provider for the visit and collect my copayment. When I arrived at the office to pick up my most recent refill, after having left work early to arrive before they closed, this time, the woman at the front desk refused to give them to me. The drops are $275 a pop, out-of-pocket, and of course, they had already deducted my bank account. The new woman was friendly and apologetic but said she had no idea about the process and since there wasn't a doctor there, she couldn't give me the drops. The process is simply, the woman who's usually at the desk hands me the box. They made me come back, requiring me to once again leave work early, for Julie to just hand me the box. Julie is rude, cut me off in the middle of trying to explain why I needed help when I called earlier in the day to confirm I would be able to pick them up this time, talked over me, and was dismissive of my concerns. The excuse she interrupted me with, for the previous day's blunder, was that they had some new people on staff. So either it wasn't actually her voice I heard in the back of the office telling the new girl, "nope, she'll have to just come back" and they simply allow brand new, untrained employees to run the office on their own, or she was also lying to me. I attempted to contact the office manager, Mary Fox, to discuss this issue 5 days ago and express the importance to her patients that the staff have standard operating procedures and effective communication skills. However, she too appears to be uninterested in her clients' experiences and feedback, as she has yet to return my call. read more

I am so unhappy with the billing practices. I have no problem with the staff or care. I went there for allergy shots and 3 allergy shots later, I find out I owe more than $1000!!! I was told to wait to start allergy shots to see if my insurance would cover the services and then 2 weeks later when i got the appointment to start, I assumed that it meant insurance was approved. Each time I was charged a $35 co pay, which I was pleasantly surprised thinking it was very reasonable. Little did I know that the bills were racking up and I had no idea. I literally cried when I realized it was over a $1000! I told the billing person I would never have started this process if I knew it was that much. I don't have a $1000 to throw away, especially in these times. To which, she very kindly told me they could do a payment plan. Payment plan!! Really? When I feel like not informing me of the cost of the service is unethical and fraudulent. I left 3 messages for the manager and it's been over 2 weeks and I never heard back. I talked to someone at the business office today and they pretty much were no help. This is such poor service. Save yourself the trouble and don't go here. read more

Office was very clean and not difficult to find. Not super busy, I got in and out within 30 minutes. The staff was very nice and direct except for one. Not sure if her name is Julie, but she was working at the check out area and answering calls. While waiting on my appointment, I could her complaining about the new system and saying unprofessional things that could have waited for the lunch room, not the waiting room. Once leaving I thought I had to go to the front of the lobby, she practically yelled at me like a child that I must see her before leaving. When giving the papers to her I received from the doctor, she snatched them out of my hand and rudely said hold on I have a call. The rest of the staff was nice and professional. I don't expect to be served or for someone to be super cheery, but with a service I'm paying for and taking out time in my day to do and be on time for I'd expect my experience setting appointments, as well as , when I walk in through the door be a more positive atmosphere because I didn't cause the worker any issues, I don't understand why her frustration with a new system needed to ruin my day read more

A coworker referred me to Dr. Altman and personally, I thought he was great. We had decided to move ahead with a surgery and he said his scheduler, Rose, would reach out to me within a couple of days. A few days went by and I didn't hear from her so I placed a call. A few more days went by and I placed another call. This routine continued for 3 weeks before I finally called the office. A few days after my complaint, I received a call from Rose who came off as rude and snooty. She spent our 5 minute phone call trying to excuse herself as to why she didn't give me a call back. She said that the office needed to renew their contract with Banner before scheduling the surgery - I'm not buying it, but okay Rose. Regardless, she said she would give me a call before the end of next week. Fast forward to today and it has been 8 weeks and I never heard back from Rose. In the last 4-5 weeks I visited another doctor, had my surgery, and my splints taken out today! It's a shame that an unorganized and disgruntled employee lost Valley ENT a potential lifelong patient. I had an ear infection after a flight and had partial hearing loss, then Tinnitus started in that ear. I was able to get a rather quick appointment with Dr Altman at the Arrowhead clinic. The staff was fine, but I found Dr Altman to be completely condescending and lacking any compassion for what I was experiencing. I told him that I was panicked by the hearing loss and was not able to sleep due to the constant noise in my head. He didn't care a bit. Told me that people sleep with tinnitus and basically told me to hold my nose and blow 100 times a day to maybe get fluid out of my ear. I had a scan soon after my appointment and the office called to tell me that the scan showed no fluid but I had TMJ and arthritis in my jaw joint. No mention of my hearing loss or any ideas about helping with the tinnitus. What a F'n joke this "Doctor" and his off was. They later called to say that there was no reason for the follow up appointment that was scheduled. But then later I got a reminder for the appointment, that I cancelled through their text. NO compassion, no real follow up, no help with either of my issues. Now on my own starting over. Stay clear of this office and this Doctor! read more

This is the worst medical office I have ever been in, and the first time in my life that I have left an office without being seen. When I arrived for a morning appointment, the small office was jam packed, every seat was taken and multiple people were standing. Multiple people in the office did not have masks on despite numerous signs around the office. None of the office staff said anything to these people. In addition, someone had a non service animal in the office with them (this is also an allergy office!) and again, no one said anything about it. When I checked in, the office staff seemed overwhelmed and disorganized. The woman told me she would call me up in a few minutes to give me my paperwork and check in and to go have a seat. 30 minutes later, I reminded her that I still had not been checked in. Another woman in the office had been waiting 45 minutes just to get checked in. After an hour of waiting, I realized I would likely be there for 2-3 hours if I stayed and waited based on how many people were in the office and how slowly they were getting called back. This place clearly does not know how to manage a medical office. read more

My experience has been very positive. I saw Dr. Altman twice and I was given good info to make an informed judgement on needing hearing aids. The story starts in December of 2017 when I had surgery scheduled for 22 January 2018, the office calls me the DAY BEFORE and states the surgery has to be rescheduled because their inapt office failed to submit the request in a timely manner to my health provider. I had surgery for a deviated septum and problems with severe nose bleeds throughout the 2018 year. The "4th" post operative visits trying to correct the nose bleeds was frustrating. After the 4th visit in February of 2019 and Altman's arrogance I decided to try another ENT at the Mayo Clinic. I was also angry after 4 post operative visits and the $3000 charged to cauterized the right nostril without fixing the nose bleeds. He also was insulted when I asked to see if I was anemic with a CBC blood test and blood work at the Mayo confirmed being anemic from nasal blood loss. He might be a good surgeon, but he lacks bedside manners and rude!!? The CT scan at the Mayo showed bleeding around the right turbinate..... something Altman should of done!!!! Just a caveat to the above, having corrective surgery at the Mayo. read more
