To myself she literally ordered me around the second she started wheeling him out. I work in the medical field myself and I would never talk to patients or family members the way she did to me. I kept my mouth shut and allowed her to continue with her orders, but I really hope management gets to see this and gives her some constructive criticism. Just because you wear scrubs, does not give you the ok to talk down to people or be short and abrupt speaking to patients, we all understand being busy or overwhelmed, but that is your job to be professional, polite and caring.

We then advised them that no one had been here. They then asking if anesthesiologist had been in to see him a which was hey had Not been either. After 3hrs he finally got brought back to do the surgery. They need to be more attentive to times as we then had to wait another 45-55min for him to come out. So our entire day was wasted as this place. Versus we had hoped he had been already recovering by 10am instead of 1pm. Go somewhere else, unless you like to wait and waste all day for something that was scheduled for 9am and took place at 12pm ridiculous!

Although the waiting area seemed a bit dated/old, the service rendered was beyond great! Dr Schneider didn't talk to me much, which seemed odd for being a new patient, but the work was done quickly (under anesthesia no less) and the outcome was with little pain. I had heard horror stories about wisdom teeth extraction, but Dr Schneider and his team did great work and will be returning if needed for any future tooth issues.

My 11yo needed a couple teeth pulled and our new dentist doesn't do that (or we would've gone to…read morethem) like our old dentist did. The oral surgeon was quick and efficient, but lacked politeness and tact. While I was pleased by the service, it was anything but good bedside manner. I wouldn't return, but the job is done.

I've had multiple treatments with him, and will never go anywhere else. During the consultation for the first treatment I had, I overheard another patient saying that they actually flew across the country just to see Dr. Broumand. That level of trust and loyalty from a previous patient speaks volumes about the positive experience that patient must have had. When I had an implant under sedation, everything was absolutely seamless. He explained the treatment well, and I had no complications from the anesthesia. I felt great by later that day. Everyone in his office genuinely cares about you, and they're extremely personable. They follow up to make sure you're okay, and happily answer any questions. I had another lighter procedure with local sedation while I was awake, and quickly found out why all of the staff at Desert Ridge Oral Surgery are always so happy. The incredible communication and seamless teamwork between Dr. Broumand and his assistants made me feel like I was in great hands for the entire procedure. I was truly able to relax. As a patient who values fair pricing, I feel that I was significantly overcharged for a service. Specifically, I was charged over $400o for a tooth extraction. When I called to ask about the approximate price prior to the appointment, I was told I could not be given even an estimate until I was in the chair. We were leaving town soon and I was in a lot of pain, and I couldn't get in anywhere else. Once I was in the chair I and was told that my dental insurance would not cover this procedure. When they showed me the quote, I wrongly assumed that this is just what it must cost at other practices, I would have thought dental surgeons charge roughly the same amount. (As stated before, I was in pain and not in a place to visit more surgeons for quotes.) After the procedure, I was still shocked at the cost. I called around to other offices to get exact pricing. I found out I paid OVER THREE times what at least 3 other dental surgeons would have charged me. (Even my insurer, Delta Dental, was shocked at what I was charged, but said there was nothing they could do.) I did try to discuss this concern directly with Dr.Broumand and his office staff. While at my check up appointment, I did mention to Dr. Broumand that what I was charged was a considerable amount of my income and that other practices would not have charged me even half as much. He stated that visiting him was like going to Nordstroms and that going to the other practices I mentioned were like going to Kmart. He then did tell me that he understood and wanted to take care of people like me, an educator. However, after weeks of waiting and phone calls back and forth, I found out that they weren't going to grant any adjustment to the price. I am very disappointed that he said he would help in person, but then his office manager said he wasn't going to adjust the pricing at all. I understand that dental care can be complex and costs may vary, but the lack of fair pricing left me feeling uneasy. As a patient, I want to trust that my Dentist is not gauging me when I am already in pain. I urge the practice to reconsider its pricing strategy for people who might not have certain procedures covered by their dental plan. There is messaging all over the office about him being the oral surgeon for the suns and diamondbacks. Somehow, I couldn't help but feel that I, as an educator, paid considerably more than these professional athletes would ever have to pay. I genuinely hope that Dr. Broumand takes this feedback constructively, and will not further gouge people whose insurance might not cover a procedure. In the end, I feel taken advantage of, having to pay way more than another patient, just because my dental plan didn't cover this procedure and I picked the wrong place to go. I would like to note again that I did try to make my concerns known to both the office manager and dentist before being so unsatisfied to then compile this review. As a patient, I believe that fair pricing is essential in a positive healthcare experience, and I hope to see positive changes in this aspect in the future.

From their list, I chose Aspen on 7th and Bell and gave them a call. A super sweet lady verified my insurance and scheduled me for 8 this morning. I arrived at 7:30 to ensure paperwork was complete but they literally do not open their door till 8. There were about 6 of us waiting. The woman that seemed "in charge" at the desk first spoke to a man clear across the room telling him he owed $699. I was stunned she would discuss his finances so publicly. Then, she called my name. I went up to the counter where she "oh so sadly" told me that my insurance was not verified there and since it was Saturday, she could not verify me. She was talking so everyone in the room could hear her! I explained that all of this was done on Friday. It was verified by both Blue Cross AND with the woman that I scheduled with. But again, SO sadly, she said they couldn't help me today. A DENTIST was sitting there and she, too, reiterated that my insurance wasn't good at that office, again, where everyone could hear my private business. Unbelievably unprofessional on both parts. Now, on their window AND on their website and on their phone while you are waiting, you are told that walk ins and emergencies are welcome. I was not offered a chance to pay then, pay later, or get treatment until my insurance was REVERIFIED. Nothing. So I left in search of an actual professional office. Then, as I was driving home, the office manager called me back. She tried to apologize for this horrendous behavior, but did she really think I'd walk back in after being humiliated like the first man? She tried to "help" me find another Aspen but as I look at reviews, I realize, this is not a trustworthy company. Of course, I told her no. I could have been more polite to her. When I thought I needed a root canal I went to my endodontist (Dr. Matloff - GREATEST guy and Endo) and he said... might want to lose the tooth. NOT an exciting thought but.... I got hold of my regular dentist (Dr. Dovgan - another great Doc) and got vote #2... lose it. They recommended Dr. Goldenstein. They got me in quick in a day for an eval appt. and he spent a lot of time explaining things, options, good and bad possibilities, situations, procedures etc etc. It was reassuring to hear good, realistic info from someone that's been doing it so long. I made it back for the extraction nervous as a cat on meth and while I had trust... I don't like being asleep and out of control while people "do things" but.... woke up, wobbled to the recovery room and got my ride home. Followed my instructions, then Dr. Goldenstein personally called that evening to follow up. I was beat but went to bed - THE BEST SLEEP I'd had in months. Woke up refreshed, no bleeding, no swelling, no pain... felt great. Not sure if I can relate previous neck and shoulder pain to my tooth situation but... that night and following... GONE. By the way The bottom line, great personalized care backed with experience and an office staff that was efficient and caring as well. I guess we all have an apprehension about medical procedures and in some part it's the doctor's responsibility to address the problem and put people at ease for things we know knowing about. He did that as well as following through with a painless, needed procedure. And as a general thought - make a note: All dentists, whether they are generalists or specialists, spend upwards of 7 or 8 years in college and dental college earning a DDS (Doctor of Dental Surgery). BUT... An oral surgeon, though, spends an additional 4 to 6 years of in-training after dental school, mostly in a hospital-based surgical environment. Dr. Goldenstein is a great oral surgeon. Not anxious to have any more teeth pulled but if it comes up... there's only one person I'd go to and recommend for the adventure. She has the latest technology for everything and she is able to do scans and investigate beyond your teeth and up into your face and head and neck with the technology that she uses so you can actually find completely hidden infections or damage that normally cannot be seen by a regular dental exam or x-rays. I would not recommend this dentist office. I had previously been to another dentist and a…read moreperiodontist for pain and redness in my gums. Both had suggested that perhaps I had developed a metal allergy but didn't know who to send me to get tested so I contacted Whole Health. Dr Sofia also agreed that could be the problem. First course of action was a saliva test and then labs were ordered through Vibrant Labs in CA. The test was 520 dollars and it took me almost a year to save up to get the test . At no time did anyone mention that it was also going to cost me another 200 dollars to have someone go over the results with me . Anyway I did the test . I was notified that the dentist had received my results on Jan .19th . (Monday) By Friday the 23rd I still had not heard anything from the dentist office so I left a message . By Monday the 26 I still had not heard from the dentist so I left another message . By Wed the 28th I still had not heard from the dentist so I looked up the Facebook page and message Dr Loud through email. That's when I finally got a text saying Dr Loud was not my dentist but that they would make an appt with Dr Sofia to go over my results and that would be Feb 13. Then a week later they called me and said she didn't want to go over results with me but wanted me to talk to a practitioner and she would contact me. I got an appt with her for Feb 16th . That was yesterday and come to find out the test didn't even test for metal allergies (which is the only reason I did it) . I am beyond upset about this . Not only do I feel like no one cares but no one answers the phone or returns calls so there is no point in trying to do that .
