My kids (6 & 3) have been going to see coach Penny and her staff for the last year and a half…read more Gymnastics class is their favorite part of the week. This year our youngest is in their preschool program (twice a week for 3 hours) and is dancing and doing gymnastics all while in a pre-school classroom. This is perfect for her, as she is a kinesthetic learner and is really benefitting from easing into a classroom environment - learning to stand in line, taking turns and following instruction. The difference in her behavior from the beginning of the year to now is night and day. My older child is in their boy's program, which is hilarious to watch. The boys are like a pack of puppies compared to the girl's classes. I don't know how he does it, but coach Brad is able to keep them contained and moving through their skills. It's great to watch. One little thing I find helpful with that they have wireless internet, which means I can work while the kids are in class. It's a small thing, but is really helpful for the parents. I think a previous poster had a bad experience about a cancelled party due to the fact that PSGD had to suddenly move the gym over the holidays. They had issues with their lease and moved from North Bend to Preston over the course of a couple of days. While it's unfortunate that this person's party got lost in the shuffle, our experience was great in that there was really clear communication about how they were handling the move. We have never had billing or communication issues, as opposed to our experience with Gymnastics East.

We had a birthday party scheduled at puget sound gymnastics and dance and they cancelled with…read moreapprox 36 hours notice. To make matters worse, I had left multiple voicemails during the week attempting to confirm details on our party and I only finally got a response when I sent an email message to one of the owners. In addition, they have not refunded our deposit and have not responded to my requests for a refund. Stay away!

We had a great time on a beautiful Washington warm evening. The theater is in a nice wild area…read moresurrounded by trees and plants all around. It is showing its age and could use some TLC on the seats but they do provide you with cushions. Also they have bug spray you can spray on for free. There is a small stand selling candy, popcorn and other items. Also they have a "mist sprayer" you can walk through to keep cool. One thing for older people is there is a steep winding hill you need to go down to get to the theater (not that long but still difficult for older folks - and you have to go back up at the end.) BUT they do provide a Courteous van that will take you down. They are next to impossible to get in contact with. Their phone is disconnected and they apparently can not access their Facebook page to respond to inquires. Found that very concerning since sort of looks like they are out of business. The scenery and customs for the play are simple but fun and the actors put their hearts in to it. For a inexpensive fun evening to take the kids to - and to see a good play - I would definitely recommend it. We took our 12 year old granddaughter and she enjoyed it.

I once thought of volunteering since I have an extensive theatrical background...and the free time. But, this haphazard way of dealing with the public has soured me on the idea.

I've been attending classes with Lena and Heidi for nearly a year. I've tried several other…read moreclasses in the area and this one stands out for a number of reasons. Their mix of music is about 60/40 between familiar upbeat songs from dance/hiphop on the radio and latin songs that are newer to me. As a new student I found that their routines were easy to get into, and now I still find small things I can improve to follow them better or to increase the challenge/exercise/fun. They introduce new songs fairly regularly so things stay fresh while you still get to revisit old favorites. They take class input on the song mix: if there's a specific song you want that night you can speak up and there's a good chance it will be included. The environment is very supportive..you look around in between songs and everyone is smiling and friendly. They also find a way to involve the more experienced students in the class by having them come up and help lead on certain songs. They celebrate class achievements in meeting fitness goals and feature students on their FB page. Lately they've begun to incorporate some light/toning weights into a featured song most classes, which is a nice change of pace. A couple months back we had an eighties themed zumba party to raise money for ALS that was a lot of fun. It sounds like more themed nights are planned. These are all things that make this class great. I have a blast every time I go. And I get an awesome workout. What takes it to the next level for me are three key things: (1) Childcare. EVERY class they teach has childcare available in the kidzone at the gym. It works out to something like $1.50-$2 per child per class. This is very unusal in the area, especially for evening classes. My kids have a great time in the kidzone. While there's a tv in there, my kids usually spend their time playing with the other kids...many nights they have friendly dance contests with them. They look forward to going. It's like a playdate for them. (2) Price. Classes are free for gym members. Mt Si Sports n Fitness is already a very good bargain as a gym. If I took these classes as part of a punch card program similar to those offered at other gyms in the area I'd pay ~ $5/class. I attend ~10 classes/month and I pay less than $50/month for my gym membership. And I can use all the rest of the gym facilities, showers, other free-to-members classes (there are several). It's an amazing value. (3) Proximity. Of course this won't be true for everyone, but this is 5 minutes away for me. There are other classes in the area just as close, but not with all the features that this one has. If I had to drive 45 min roundtrip to a class you could chalk up another $4-5 in gas I would be paying for each class, and that's if I could make it given the rest of my schedule. I coached my kids soccer teams this past year and I could make it back from soccer practice in time to attend classes. The only thing I think might put potential students off is that the evening classes can be pretty crowded, especially Monday and Wednesday nights. I've never seen anyone turned away, but you should get there 5-10 minutes early to get yourself a spot where you can see the instructors.

Since the first time I went I have been hooked! Now it's not a chore to work out, its something I…read moreenjoy doing and look forward to. Im so glad my sister talked me into joining!
