I need to share this, because it changed my life. Quite literally, the quality of my life was saved by my visit to Valley Arthritis Care, specifically with Iain Black -PA. Appointment help/ communication: 5/5 the front office staff, and Iain Black- PA worked me in last minute. I received follow up phone calls, appointment reminders via text/phone, and updates about working me in last minute. Check-in: fast, easy, friendly front desk customer service. Wait: I respect that providers like Iain Black spend quality time with each patient, and know I will receive the same attention and time. Impressively, I was called back on time. The MA Caydance was extremely professional and personable, I felt very comfortable and cared for. Now here comes the whammy - I received trigger point injections from PA Iain Black. Bedside manner 10/5 - so kind, understanding , and gentle! Injection skill beat any I've ever had. Painless, gentle, and he used the cold spray to decrease patient discomfort. He really took his time to evaluate the areas that needed treatment and took care of me. I truly felt cared for by Iain. Today, finding this type of medical care is like finding clear, focused, un-blurred, High Def Bigfoot footage. It's unheard of! I have been coming to this practice for over 8 years if not more. I have seen about 3 different Doctors but for the past year I've been seen by Ian Black. He is very understanding of my issues. I have several issues I won't go into but Ian is always on top of things. I always check into places but I forget to write a review since like I said, it's been 8 years of being a patient. So I thought I'd write a little something about one of the places I visit the most in regards to my health. The front staff is always helpful and friendly. Which I can't say for all of my Doctors appointments. I think it also has a lot to do with the fact that I always have a smile on my face . Start your day with a positive attitude and remember there will always be bitter people around. However, it's up to you to let them ruin your day. I prefer to be happy and like my sister says : you light up a room with your smile! If you need something from the front desk, don't show up with an angry attitude. My first visit to Valley Arthritis Care. A friend of mine recommended this place. On first arrival, things were fast, friendly, and efficient. There were tons of patients waiting to be seen and things were moving very quickly. It was like a fine tuned Swiss watch. They held to my appointment time which was awesome!!!! That's very very rare for a doctor's office of this size to keep true to your appointment time. I was most happy "until" I was lead back to the room "(A)" aka "Dash-eLut Desert, Iran." This room would make Satan himself sweat from the heat. It was unholy stagnant heat trapped like an oven! What made it all worth it was the PA Iain Black. Mr. Black was charming, dapper and quick witted. He sets himself apart from other healthcare providers by his gentle demeanor, vast knowledge, and the true ability to listen to me. That was the one thing that made my experience at Valley Arthritis 100% worth it. I've been to doctors that barely look up and make eye contact with you. They give you 5 mins max no matter what and they are out of there. You could be bleeding from your ears and eyes and they are like, okay times up, please schedule a follow-up appointment in 4 months. That's a sad state of affairs, but you will not get this with PA Iain Black. Suffering in the 6th circle of hell was worth it. I'm glad I got lucky to have him take care of me. I felt so sorry for Mr. Black as he was doing his very best in the Dash-eLut Desert. I will definitely recommend PA Iain Black as a provider. But I can't recommend that heat! That's a HUGE patient dis-satisfier!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Whoever is in charge of the AC should have to work in that room for one business day to feel what the patients are experiencing. read more

The PA, Christina, is amazing, attentive, thorough, and caring. The front office staff in my opinion is a mess of disorganized and uncaring staff. I consistently get a different "policy" regarding copayment, insurance card request, check-in process, prescription refills, etc, etc... for a patient like me that has a variety of health issues and relies on my caregiver support for communication. It is a challenge to comply with the inconsistency of the front office staff. Today after many years of care from Christina, I became emotionally overwhelmed by the staff and the inconsistencies and walked out after informing them I will find a different provider. I do not recommend this clinic! I am disappointed and will return to my PCP and find my new provider. 2 stars only because of Christina! read more

Total waste of time and money!! My PCP referred me to Valley arthritis care and I made monthly visits for 4 months and during each visit I was attended by a nurse practitioner. The woman who checked my blood pressure did it totally wrong. The the NP who was the only attending "physician" did not seem knowledgeable. About 23 x-ray images were taken to determine my condition at Phoenix imaging center and the NP never even reviewed it. Without making any detailed review she directly suggested two treatment options: either take steroids or methotrexate neither of which are known to cure my condition and in addition would cause harmful side effects!! She was more like a low quality robot!! The main physician in that center called Balla was never there. He probably rented that place to this lackluster NP!!!! read more

I really do not like giving this poor of a review. However there is no excuse for the incompetence of this practice. I was referred by my PCP and was scheduled to see the PA. It took nearly 90 minutes before I was seen for a 5 minute visit. He ordered blood work and told me to follow up in 2 weeks to discuss the results. I was then told a week prior that it would be a telemed visit and no instructions as to how this would happen. The day of my follow up appointment still no notification. I called the office again and got instructions that the PA would send me a link. 45 minutes past my appointment still no link that was sent to me and called the office again only to be told that the PA was running on time and I said that's impossible as it was already 45 minutes past my appointment. I requested that the lab results would be sent to my PCP a and I was assured this would happen. I just came back from my PCP and she said she never got the labs from Valley Arthritis Care. Highly recommend looking elsewhere for care. I think their overall rating of barely 3 stars says it all. Our health is everything and when you have this level of incompetence they need to reevaluate their mission and vision. I will attempt to get my lab results but I'm not holding out much hope. read more

This office only takes phone calls from 9-3 and they do not answer the phones at lunch. What working person can interrupt their work day to call a doctor's office. I am a teacher and work straight through until 3. By the times I get off work the phones are closed and there is NO WAY to leave a message. They cancelled a phone appointment I had been waiting for 3 months to get because they were calling me between the hours of 9 and 3 while I am teaching and I could not call them back or leave a message. How can a business treat people like this. I am switching doctor's offices today. It is too bad too because I think Dr. Bahalla was actually a caring doctor. read more

I have been seeing Dr. Savitha Kalya for about 18 months. She has my vote for Rheumatologist of the Year! She not only correctly diagnosed my specific problem but prescribed a wonder drug which helped 100%. Dr. Kalya always explains medical things in a way the layperson can easily understand. She has given special attention to me and treats the patient as a whole. Dr. Kalya is never in a rush to see the next patient but manages to stay on a schedule which has me waiting less than five minutes. I don't know what I would have done without her professional help! read more

I love Brady, he provides top notch care and is awesome. The front office is a mess and after receiving a phone call to pay my copay for an upcoming appointment I was informed I had a new balance from September 2020 but they couldn't tell me what it was for specifically. I told them to cancel my appointment and that I would no longer be utilizing their services which sucks because Brady is awesome. No foul language was used but I did bring up their poor yelp reviews all due to poor office management and billing practices. I cancelled my appointment and left it at that. To add a slap in the face I get a certified letter delivered today basically telling me I'm fired from their practice due to rudeness of staff and inappropriate language. I'm sorry I stood up for myself when your billing department tried to bill me for something almost 3 years prior with no explanation as to what it was for. I'm fired because I took a stand over shady billing practices and you paint me to be the bad guy. I've been a patient of Brady's for years and have never been disrespectful to staff but be careful I guess it only takes one time of making someone angry or upset and they're done with you. I wish Brady could not be associated with this poorly run establishment that is out to nickel and dime everyone to death. Wonderfull amazing doctors and staff. They listen to your concerns run the appropriate test. They dont judge you by weight, age, or race like Arthritis Consultants. They were able to get me schedule in a reasonable amount of time. The only reason I gave 4 stars is because i usually wait about 30 minutes past my appointment time. I make sure to allot extra time for my appointment in my day. Worth the wait! read more

PA Foster; Loved her, very friendly and listened to my Story. Labs; Very quick and Friendly. Wait; I was immediately taken back my room, but while in room waited long periods of time. Literally went into room so quick figured I would be done in no time. Now I was a new Patient, so that may be reason. Everything from the receptionist to the medical assistant and the cherry on top, P.A Ian Black was a great experience! We were here for a second opinion after a very unpleasant experience at Arizona Arthritis and Rheumatology Associates. Medical assistant Pam vas very friendly and funny. Ian Black was attentive, friendly, knowledgeable and listened with care and empathy. We left with orders for labs, x-rays and a follow up appointment where at the other place we were told nothing was wrong and nothing was ordered. I got a call from my Arthritis doctor's office regarding my blood work. Living in the USA where English is still the primary language, the lady the called me had a lot of trouble speaking it. I told her I couldn't understand her. She called me back, and the same problem. She said one on my readings were high. She repeated the word 6 times and finally decided to spell it out. The word was potassium. I am all for hiring anybody but if you can't speak English, then you shouldn't be talking to people that only understand English. What a joke. I got a call back from the office manager and English was NOT her primary language. I guess nobody cares. read more

I have been going here for 10+ years and they have really gone down hill. Since the first of the year I am not able to get my medications refilled. They only have 1 month limit, my insurance wants refills for 90 days. I keep telling them that and they keep saying they are for 90 days. Someone in the office must not know the difference between 30 and 90. I have to call them after waiting for 3 weeks out of medication to get them to refill. Then it's the same argument that it was for 90 days. No the pharmacy paperwork shows 30 days with NO REFILLS. WTF it's not à controlled drug. Now when you call during office hours they don't evan answer the phone. I have sat on hold for over an hour with no one picking up the line. The pharmacy sends them a refill form on a daily basis and gets no reply from them also. NO WAY TO RUN A BUSINESS ESPECIALLY A DOCTORS OFFICE THAT PATIENTS RELY ON!!!!! I have been a patient here for about 7 years. I initially came here when I woke up once morning and couldn't walk. RA HIT ME HARD AND ALL AT ONCE. I see Dr. Black and he is amazing. He is attentive, kind and caring and always listens to my needs or issues. I don't know why this facility is getting bad reviews because i have never had a problem here with anything. I've been seeing Dr. Bhallah and his assistant Brady Nelson for a few years now. If it wasn't for them, the pain I suffer from fibro would be unbearable. Yes at times they are busy, but the staff is always kind. It would be nice if you weren't on hold for a long time but they do have a patient portal which they respond to quickly. It can be used for prescription refills, scheduling appointments, billing questions, messages to the doctor....etc. Thank you for your continued efforts to give me the proper care I require. read more

I have been using Valley Arthritis Care for 10 years and I liked my first doctor, Brent Smith. He was very compassionate and knowledgeable. He left the practice and I was stuck with another doctor who had an assistant who was a condescending witch. When this A$$hole left, I was then stuck with Bhalla and he is just the most uncaring pos that's out there. He doesn't give a damn about his patients and his office staff is even worse. I am forever having to give up my lunch hour to sit on hold waiting for someone to answer the phone to be told to hold. I am never able to have my pharmacy send over refill requests because the office hags don't know how to operate a fax. They will lie to you and swear up and down that they didn't get it when they did. Tomorrow, I will once again have call them to get them to refill my Enbrel as well as requesting a years worth of my medical records to provide to another doctor and I am sure I will get the run around because they don't give a crap about their patients. I will be going to another practice and will file a formal complaint against them with my health insurer. read more

They don't care about their patients in pain! Don't believe it when they say "just walk in for an injection if you feel bad" so we did...the staff is horrible! They expected us to fetch information from other doctors because their doctor "didn't chart it"! Seriously like we are supposed to know what type of medication the ER doctor injected! These people are so unprofessional, they had given me an appointment on a Friday, and they were not even open. I had the courtesy card with that said when I should go to my appointment, and the administration didn't care! I had to wait three more months to see my doctor again, which doesn't even make me mad, I know he's a busy man and a very good kind doctor. But I live an hour and a half away and go to school, making it a real effort to go out there and see him. This happened 6 months ago and I'm still upset. Now I call to check my appointment, and they won't even take a message. I agree that sometimes the front desk doesn't have it together. And when you call them,it can be hard to get through and get answers. I have Dr. Kalya. The first time was weird,and I wasn't liking it. Since then,I have grown to really like her. She's always nice,and though she doesn't stay too long,she will answer questions for me if I have one. Everyone there is friendly. The only thing I don't like is that I really wanted to be involved and hands on with my dr. to deal with the Fibromyalgia,to try different things. But she doesn't really suggest anything different than what we've been doing. I don't agree with some of the posts,but every experience is different--overall I like the place and the people there. One question for others----has anyone found the patient portal yet??? I cannot find it,it always says page not found,and I have tried everything I can think of. read more

Well the last 14 months I have been doing my followups with Dr Bhalla's Physician Assistant, Brady Nelson, and he's pretty good with knowing what I need for my present condition using vitamin and other supplements. I've been feeling very good and not relying so much listening to my PCP because she claims four months ago I have osteopenia which I have changed my supplements a little by adding one and increasing a couple. Also PA Nelson told me to add ginger more. I've increased my activity level to almost every day and lost an additional 15 pounds and still losing. So I no longer seeing some quack of a rheumatologist but seeing his physician assistant who knows more than he does in naturopathic medicine. read more

I have been going to this office for 2 years. My insurance only covers this group. I have to worst expierence with the office as a whole. The wait time on the phone is usually 10+ minutes. THe front office is clueless. The MA's never return calls. No follow through with the office. Dr Amin is always rushed and does not take the time with me to discuss my RA.
