Sun Valley Arthritis Center works very well for me. I'm surprised at the negative reviews--not my experience whatever over the past year since I arrived in the Phoenix area. Office staff are consistently friendly, human, and engaged from front desk throughout. Particularly outstanding is Dr. DeLea. She is my idea of an excellent doctor, always straightforward and calm, even when she gives me "bad news" and what I must take in and concentrate on. I do not have a good past set of experiences with doctors through my 86 years, many of whom take my questions as hostility and respond accordingly. Not so with Dr. Delea. She is knowledgeable, thorough, calm, and friendly. She is also a buoyant, lively person with much concern for me as her patient. I would give her 10 stars if I could.

My PCP sent over a referral so I could be seen and my dermatologist also sent over her notes. I called and after being on hold for quite so time, the appointment scheduler stated that they are not taking new patients. I told her that the website states you are accepting new patients. I told her do you know how inconvenient and time consuming this is. I have to contact my Pcp and request another referral to see someone else and also contact my dermatologist and have them send my notes to another office. Definitely disappointed and annoyed that it is going to take longer now to get care.

DeLea is so incredibly thorough but everyone else who works here like Loretta and Paul with infusions and Misty are so familiar with my situation and provide the utmost care.

Over the past 3-5 years I have struggled greatly with spinal pain and increasing severity of autoimmune symptoms that no other doctor was able to diagnose or correctly treat. I am an Olympic swimmer and a documentary creator, so to suffer my body's degeneration so severely was more than just a nuisance, it felt like a loss of my entire identity. My right eye was going blind due to inflammation, my spine was attempting to fuse together, I had abdominal pain that kept me up all night and mental fog all day that prevented me from working for weeks at a time. Every day I was taking a massive cocktail of medications for asthma, inflammation and allergies that seemed to be doing absolutely nothing for me. All of this impacted my life perspective and outlook to the point where I didn't desire to live if this is how life was going to be. I had the opportunity to listen to Dr. Mitchell's podcasts and learn about his methodology - it was something that appealed to me so I made an appointment with him. More than any other physician I've had, Dr. Mitchell is keen on using diagnostics to inform treatment. A full analysis of blood, stool, urine, mental health and lifestyle choices was done within the first month - the results were then carefully explained and Dr. Mitchell put forward a treatment plan in phases focused on resetting my damaged gut as it plays heavily into the severity of my health woes. Dr. Mitchell put me on a natural regimen of healing nutrition, physical activity, enzymes, probiotics, cleansing aids, meditation and homeopathic remedies. It was a lot of effort, but in the end it paid off. After a few months of putting in the work and sticking with the plan, I am now back in the gym training with glimpses of the same spirit I had as an Olympian; back in the office making headway on innovative ideas and connecting with people around me; my relationships with loved ones are getting stronger and more compassionate; I am more aware of my nutritional choices and able to make smarter decisions about how to use food as the best medicine. I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Mitchell's patience, kindness and deep concern for me as a guide through this journey. We live in a time where the perversion of profit has tainted our inputs measurably (food, social, technological, environmental) and is causing immense imbalances that trigger adverse responses from our bodies. The movement around identifying these toxic inputs to address them is young but growing - for the time being it is fantastically difficult to avoid those toxic inputs entirely, and a guide like Dr. Mitchell can help tremendously in living every day to the fullest in this environment and find ways to be strong, vibrant, compassionate and energetic in all aspects of life.

She didn't hesitate: "Don't bother looking at anyone else in the Valley. Go see Russo." In that heavy accent. I'm glad I listened. As a nurse myself with 26 years of experience, I've seen it all -- the good, the bad, and the downright scary. Dr. Russo is one of the best. His father was a physician, and I can say with confidence his Father should be incredibly proud of the surgeon and human being his son has become. Dr. Russo isn't just a highly skilled surgeon with a stellar track record and excellent credentials. What really stood out to me was his bedside manner. He never once made me feel rushed. He listened. He cared. And you can tell he genuinely loves what he does -- there's no trace of the burnout you sometimes see in seasoned surgeons. On top of it all, he's a family man with kids of his own, so he gets it. He understands how a bum hip doesn't just affect you, it affects your whole family. That empathy came through in every interaction. I had a left hip replacement and walked out the same day with not just a new joint, but a new outlook on life. I'm excited to soon tie my own shoes again, to ride a bike pain-free, to live my life again. If you're considering surgery and you're lucky enough to get in with Dr. Russo -- don't think twice. Thank you Dr Russo!

Appointment help/ communication: 5/5 the front office staff, and Iain Black- PA worked me in last minute. I received follow up phone calls, appointment reminders via text/phone, and updates about working me in last minute. Check-in: fast, easy, friendly front desk customer service. Wait: I respect that providers like Iain Black spend quality time with each patient, and know I will receive the same attention and time. Impressively, I was called back on time. The MA Caydance was extremely professional and personable, I felt very comfortable and cared for. Now here comes the whammy - I received trigger point injections from PA Iain Black. Bedside manner 10/5 - so kind, understanding , and gentle! Injection skill beat any I've ever had. Painless, gentle, and he used the cold spray to decrease patient discomfort. He really took his time to evaluate the areas that needed treatment and took care of me. I truly felt cared for by Iain. Today, finding this type of medical care is like finding clear, focused, un-blurred, High Def Bigfoot footage. It's unheard of! Thank you Iain, you're changing the world, one patient at a time.
