I was happy to learn that Ashton had landscape construction knowledge, and had worked with the wholesale nursery before, and had the equipment and crew to get the whole project done. Most importantly, they were willing to take it on, even with scheduling picking up and delivering the mature tree from Hilo. It was impressive to watch it all happen. Because my yard is solid bluestone under a few inches of dirt, two machines were brought in to excavate a 3 foot deep, 5 foot diameter hole. Then the 85 gallon tree was delivered, and with entire crew involved, the tree was artfully maneuvered into place and planted. The tree is healthy and happy and I am enjoying the much needed shade. I couldn't be happier with the excellent and professional service and expertise.

Unfortunately Carlson Homes will not be building my dream home…read more  I had been working with Carlson Homes for over a year. They bid my project and I signed their proposal with enthusiasm 11/19. A couple of months later I got a call. They forgot two major details in my design. As a result, the cost went up nearly $62k... I understood and accepted the new proposal.  Then COVID hit and everything in my life got put on hold... Nine months or so later I re-engaged with Carlson Homes and gave them the opportunity to re-bid. Of course everything went up in price. I accepted their proposal again.  Very recently I made the 3000 mile move to the island with everything in tow. Then, as we were finalizing the contract documents with Carlson Homes and the Material House, Carlson Homes backed out sighting ..."multiple delays"... As I've read these glowing reviews, the most current of which was Aug 2016, I can't help but think something has suffered over the years since 2016 at Carlson Homes. It's not for me to speculate here.  I will say that I very much looked forward to Carlson Homes building my dream home. I have been seriously inconvenienced by them backing out leaving me high & dry, and starting from scratch. Mahalo for that...

He has many workers or sub contractors. They are quick and thats why we just hired them this year (Sept 2026) to work on our foundation repair project, due to the earthquake. Keoni works hard and the good thing he is flexible to work on small or big projects. He gets the job done in a timely manner and responses pretty quick to our requests. He is currently working on our fencing project. He is also very good in sending videos, photos to us as well! I always try to get three prices quotes but now I believe Keoni is fair and reasonable.
