We live up in Hawaiian Acres and needed several tress cut from our front yard that were growing into the power lines. I was not about to risk my husbands life to "try" and cut it down. I called Backyard Monkey and they came up to take a look and gave me an estimate. The day was scheduled and I got a phone call saying that they arrived. I didn't even need to be there! The TEAM did such a professional job, cleaned up after themselves and left me with a nice pile of woodchips in my yard - as requested. Equipment tracks were at a minimal. Tree trimming for new solar panels. I was a bit concerned that they were starting at 7am this morning. Our neighbors tend to sleep in and I thought they might be disturbed. After about 30 minutes, during which I figured they were just setting up their tree rigging, I was surprised to find that they had almost finished trimming one of the trees, just using hand tools. They took everything down so that we could see much better sunlight in the area where the panels will go, stacked up the cuttings neatly, right where I had requested and we're done quickly and quietly. I've used Backyard Monkey a few times to clear our property of overgrown weeds and brush. They are easy to contact and very kind and friendly on the phone. Because they are busy it can sometimes take a while until they have an appointment available. But they do show up on the day promised and do excellent work. I've been very happy with them. I will continue to use them when necessary. The Good: They do excellent work, and show up as promised on the day of the appointment. Then, the time it took to come out and give an assessment and an honest opinion of the options as well as a quote, was very short. I stumbled upon backyard monkey just from googling tree trimmers and got so lucky that they were such a fantastic company and provide excellent and quick service for my avocado tree to be cut to stump . And they gave the best price as well. I really loved that I could do payment on their website as well and Justin (the owner ) I believe and his wife were so responsive via email . We had a pile of mostly tree and hedge trimmings about 40'x20' and 3-4' high. We wanted the waste chipped and left in place, After calling the first tree company, an estimate was given for chipping and we accepted the bid and were given an appointment. The workers came for about 40 minutes and then left telling us that the chipper couldn't maneuver past a couple of large landscaping rocks and would reschedule to move the rocks and chip. They didn't show up for the next two appointments. The next company said the chipping would be too expensive and suggested hauling away the pile. I would hate to see what the charge would have been for chipping because the hauling estimate was almost $15000. What a pleasant experience calling Backyard Monkey. Justin came and after looking at the pile, said that the best way to handle it was with a mower chipper. The estimate was very reasonable, and an appointment was scheduled. They arrived on time, and only took 2 hours to reduce the pile to chips which was exactly what we wanted. Justin and his crew were very pleasant to deal with and worked in a professional and careful manner. We are delighted with the results and would highly recommend Backyard Monkey. They had the staff and equipment to complete the job in a very, very, efficient manner and went beyond the initial scope of work. Justin and Backyard Monkey came to my rescue on 2/10/19 when heavy early morning winds felled my super large pine tree onto my house. Justin came to my home within 60 minutes of calling, to assess, take pictures, answer questions etc. I was surprised to learn Justin was a Certified Arborist and he provided amazing information @ my pine tree and other trees in my yard, and gave me suggestions @ safer trees I may want to think about. Followed up immediately with emailed plan/cost which he also emailed to my insurance. He was able to mobilize his team and equipment to get the tree removed off house, chipped and yard back to as normal as passible same day. Great team professionalism and knowledge; worked so well together. Happy to explain process. Placed cones up to maintain a safe area in the yard. I was so worried about my home and safety and am so appreciative of the calm presence and the generous time to answer all my questions and concerns. Even chopped up some of the wood for camping firewood(but he cautioned me not to use to cook food with).
