Ashton's Landscape and Tree Service have provided excellent work for me on a number of projects…read more Most recently I wanted to have a site excavated and a big tree brought in and planted. I was happy to learn that Ashton had landscape construction knowledge, and had worked with the wholesale nursery before, and had the equipment and crew to get the whole project done. Most importantly, they were willing to take it on, even with scheduling picking up and delivering the mature tree from Hilo. It was impressive to watch it all happen. Because my yard is solid bluestone under a few inches of dirt, two machines were brought in to excavate a 3 foot deep, 5 foot diameter hole. Then the 85 gallon tree was delivered, and with entire crew involved, the tree was artfully maneuvered into place and planted. The tree is healthy and happy and I am enjoying the much needed shade. I couldn't be happier with the excellent and professional service and expertise.

We purchased the property in a very overgrown, poorly maintained state. All of our walk ways were overgrown to the point that we couldn't use them. The backyard was never used because it was so overgrown. Belmes arrived early and worked all day (7+hours) with a crew of 3 additional workers. His quote was fair and he kept to it (didn't raise it) once he gave us the quote. He has a lot of integrity and the results are outstanding! Our property is cleared and we can enjoy it. Excellent quality and a great value. We will bring him back on a routine basis to maintain our property. Highly recommend.

Paul helped us choose the best fencing options for our needs and budget, kept us updated throughout the process, and made sure we were 100% happy before asking for payment. I contracted him to re-roof my mother's house. I then had him repaint the house's exterior. Labor and materials for both jobs were above the lower quartile five figures ($$,$$$) Communication - First off, unlike four other Hilo contractors who never returned my calls or ignored me after initial conversations, Richard actually called me back. That's a huge green flag! Richard was conscientious in keeping me in the loop as to when he was starting, progress he was making, and when he would complete the projects. He sent me videos as job updates. There was a steady stream of texts and videos. Timeliness - Richard started and completed the projects within the timeframe he committed to. He was there with his crew when they were scheduled, and worked full days. Value & Budget - Richard's quote for the roofing and painting jobs were very reasonable. Much appreciated was the fact there were no additional surprise charges. Conscientious, trustworthy, affordable, communicative, competent - Richard and his crew check off all the right boxes. Highly recommended.
