We ran into this guy at the dump, of all places. He saw us with our tiny trailer and offered his dump service. Later that day we realized we needed help getting rid of a stump. Today I had the honor of watching Lucas, and his very skilled posse, working on a complex, steep hillside cutting down several dozen 30 plus-year-old ironwood trees, a couple of avocados, and five 40-year-old coconut trees. They are a very efficient, tightly oiled group that works very well together and is extremely safety conscious. Starting with Lucas' initial visit to the property to assess the project, to the detailed written estimate I received less than half an hour after he left, I was quickly aware I was dealing with a very professional young businessman that knew exactly what he was doing. His pricing was more than fair, very clear, and he was quick to respond to any questions I had (and I had a number of them). He never hesitated to accommodate all my little asks (wanted the coconuts off the tree, needed the coconut trees cut into 4' lengths to make pahu (drum), don't drop any trees on any of the rock walls or rock paths etc. They will be returning for a number of other tree removals. Wow is all we can say. My husband and I are thrilled with the results. Long Limbs removed 3 very tall trees, an African Tulip in the front yard and 2 Gunpowders in the back. We ended up with some beautiful clean mulch to fill in two very large pits in our backyard and some large logs lto line the back fence to help keep out some destructive wild pigs (albeit for a short time since they will eventually go to mulch too). Lucas, the owner, was very good about discussing every detail, and even when we had a small miscommunication, he resolved the situation very quickly and the outcome was good for both of us. He has an eye for aesthetics and if you're not happy, he's not happy. And, he got a referral to our neighbors who are going to remove another African Tulip so they can get their view of Mauna Kea back! Go Long Limbs! Oh, did I mention no mess! They were super good about cleaning up after all the chipping, cutting and hauling. As a working class individual in the construction industry who understands the effort and energy it takes to perform a hard day's work, I was more than impressed with him and the entire teams ability to continuously work for a full 10 hours to complete the project in one day taking their time to make sure everything was done perfectly and safely. Lucas and his buddy came out today to take down a 50 foot Ohia tree that was rubbing up against the house. It was just too tall for my husband to tackle. They did a great job, very professional and safety conscious. Per our request, they piled up all the wood and used a blower to blow all the debris off the driveway.
