    Atlas at his first appointment

Absolutely thrilled with this vet! Everybody was super sweet and helped my baby with his first ever appointment. They even gave him peanut butter as a reward . Highly recommend!

John and his staff saved our dogs life. They cared for her as if she was their own pet. THEY DID NOT OVET CHARGE US AT ALL. THANK GOD.

On October 30,2017 we found our 9 year old German Shepard sick and I need of care. John and his staff Katie,Tiz, and all the staff members took such great care of our girl. She was toxic and dehydrated. They were very loving and caring. They found that her kidneys were not working well. They had her on IV for three days and let us walk her everyday. They got her to eat and put her on KD prescription food. The staff was amazing, so much compassion caring and loved her as if she was their pet. John and his staff can always be reached and are willing to contact you. We always get appointments when we need them. THEY DO NOT OVER CHARGE AT ALL. THANK GOD. They also accept trupanion which I wis I had gotten when Cara was a year old. We have been going to John for 9 years and he and his staff are second to no one that we have found. They knowledge and professionalism is levels above any other vets in the area. We travel 45mins to see him and his staff. That is how great John and his staff are.

RIP Rex. You went way too soon. I love you.

She believes in both, each complimenting and supporting the other. That's what I wanted and need for my best friend and little boy, Trooper. On top of that, she is happy to work with a patients' regular Vet and studies their medical records thoroughly. She has a gentle, caring manner and spends the time to fully explain her analysis, opinions and reasons for her recommendations. Dr Barotz has a 360 degree approach and the education, knowledge and experience to carry it out. I am so very happy to have her at our side through what is a very tough time. My Trooper has liver cancer. Thanks to her, I have a much better understanding of how I can give Trooper's body more support and comfort, as well as other options I might have for his care. I wish I had known her when I first adopted Trooper 11 years ago, through sickness AND health. I think we can take better care of our little friends with her full approach.

He treated my cat and he was okay for regular, routine care- shots, etc. However, when a health problem began to emerge, (continuous, steady weight loss from June - Dec. ) I was told my cat was just getting old, and everything was okay. Finally, I insisted on an ultrasound because I knew something was wrong. After the ultrasound, the vet did not phone me with the findings. I was told everything was okay by the vet staff-no cancer and the dr would phone the next day. I found out my cat had cancer that evening when a compounding pharmacy phoned me regarding a chemo drug(Chlorambucil) that has been prescribed, The next day, I waited to speak with the vet and after phoning 3 times he called back. I picked up ultrasound and prednisolone from the vet that night and was told to phone if I had any concerns when I began chemo treatment. My cat had an adverse reaction to drug so, as instructed, I called. The vet did not return my calls. We called for 6 days straight- no response. I think his staff did pass on calls. Meanwhile, I took my cat to animal speciality center in Yonkers as an emergency and was connected to a wonderful cancer care team. The original vet phoned me after 6 days, made all kinds of excuses for not phoning and after listening to his excuses, I told him he was fired Bottom line, the Saw mill vet is a terrible communicator and a very lazy vet in my opinion. Broken toe nail and regular care, okay, but anything thst requires extra care and an ounce of compassion, I don't think you'll find it here. I feel he was negligent on many levels: he didn't instruct how to handle the chemo agent (the oncologist was shocked at this) and he didn't communicate when a client had a very sick pet. You make your own choices but my suggestion is stay far away.

So besides needing eye drops for glaucoma and a cataract she required Prednisone. Well we all see these commercials for wonder drugs ( the wonder is why we take them with all the side effects) so even though the Prednisone gave my girl relief it slowly started to effect other systems. Last week in what appeared to be overnight she slowly stopped eating but only drank. That was a red flag. Took her to an emergency facility which was a nightmare. Four hours sitting around waiting for some diagnosis. Every so often someone would come out and give some empty info. Finally a vet came out and provided me with a 3 page plan with an estimate that sent me to the cardiologist. This where Zen Dog comes in. Based on the diagnosis and the plan with no light at the end we felt the best most humane course of action was to euthanize. Spoke with Dr. Ray., he could not have been more understanding and compassionate. He showed up at the house took the time to explain the process. Once comfortable with what was going to happen he started. Dr Ray gave us time to be with her and comfort her until the end. It was a very tough thing to deal with but she went with family around in her home and peacefully. If anyone who reads this is at that point with their beloved pet, Zen Dog is in my opinion a great comforting option

And they didn't say anything about accepting a fecal sample, which I also already paid for in my wellness plan, I had to ask about it. 4) The doctor doesn't come out to tell me any info. When I was allowed in the room with my pet in earlier years, a doctor would tell me her weight, tell me the status of her teeth/gums, update about her health status, etc. Now some random vet tech just hands her off to me with no info. The whole establishment and the team seem very disorganized and chaotic. It is not a place I want to trust with the life of my pet. *Third Banfield Pet location I've tried, and I've been disappointed by all of them. I really don't trust this company.
