Good gas prices on a convenient corner. (But since the 76 across the street changed to "Diamond Gas" that place is now the cheapest gas in town!) But this Valero has a good little snack store, motor oil, etc; classical music at the pumps (very calming) a good, fast car wash machine and also propane - but only go here if your personal tank is EMPTY - they have a $20.74 minimum charge! Easier to do a Blue Rhino exchange at Ace Hardware. But this station is a great place to have in the neighborhood so I support it. read more

I bought gas this morning on Pump #6 and the pump sold me car wash without my ordering it. The shop was closed at that time so I went back at about 2 PM and a badly toothed white man refused to refund me my $7.99 for the car wash that I neither wanted nor asked for. Avoid these creeps at all costs. There are two other pumps at the same crossing that have no car wash and thus are not going to defraud you with car wash at least. read more

This gas station is very dishonest the way they are doing their business. I went there to fill up my small bbq propane gas tank. While the attendant was filling up my tank, I saw the sign posted $3.95/gal. When he was done, I checked the meter and it showed 1 gallon for my tank. Then when I went in with him to the cashier to pay, he asked me for $21.95. I was pretty surprise so I ask him why the sign show $3.95/gal? He said "for a normal 4 gallon tank, it is everywhere $21.95". I replied on him that I was buying only 1 gallon and he could not charge me full price. This dishonest attendant quickly change his price, he said "Ok, I give you discount, $10 dollar". I tried to be calm, and told him I only pay for what I was buying, and it was only one gallon, $3.95. The guy kept insisting on $10, and he was being creative this time adding in "it is minimum charge". I told him that there was no sign anywhere showing that minimum charge was $10. I refused to pay $10 that he was asking, and told him to take his propane back, I was not buying it any more. DON'T GO THERE! This place received an average of 2.5 stars for a reason!!! I went there with my 1997 Toyota Camry. Got charged $60 and failed because the air intake hose had a crack. The mechanic said I could bring it back after the hose was replaced. So I ordered a replacement part online and installed it with no problem. When I went back the mechanic insisted on seeing the old part and confirming it has the same original manufacturer part number. I went back the second day with the old part and explained to him that the part has been revisioned twice so the part number is not exactly the same. He called the dealership and got the latest part number and insisted that I have to put in a part that has exactly the same new part number or go to a junk yard and get an old part with the same old part number. After arguing with this bureaucrat for another 5 min, I realized if I want a new part I would have to go to a dealer and spend $150. So, I left. I don't think he has any intention to rerun the test for me for free. He was just trying to get rid of me by making it difficult. I went to another smog check place that had a great review in yelp. The new place saw the "failed" record in the system, asked me what was the problem and I explained the situation. The mechanic said even after-market parts are fine, let alone that the part I put in was a manufacturer interchangeable part. I spent $45 (including certificate) and was done in 20 min. I only wish that I had done my homework on yelp before I went to Valero in the fist place. I did after the first bad experience and what a "night and day" difference in return! Yelp rocks!! If you are here because you want to save money or have a good experience, DON'T GO TO THIS PLACE! Oh, don't be fooled by their coupon. Other places have the same deal everyday, with no hidden charge. I came here for a smog check since it's the closest Smog Test Only station in my area. I didn't exchange much words with the Vietnamese technician, he kind of just shoved the clipboard I needed to fill out and went back to work. Took about forty minutes with another car in front of me and I was on my way, no wasted time. You also pay at the end of the test, I had a coupon so it was a $50 total compared to the usual $70. Mandatory Smog Checks for the lose, I HATE YOU DMV! The station itself is pretty well kept, not some run down ghetto looking car shop that has you questioning work ethics. It should be noted that there are plenty of restaurants in the nearby area to keep you occupied while waiting. I guess if you enjoy inhaling fumes at the gas station, you can also choose to chill on the sofa and drink their free coffee and munch on the provided popcorn instead, hella random. My mistake! Brought my propane take in and told them I was not sure if it's full or not. It was full so I was charged $10.90 for 6/10th of a gallon of propane. Glad I didn't have 1 gallon of top off propane which would have been a minimum charge of $22.60 with sales tax. Ok, there must be a better way to know if your propane tank is full or not. read more

The issue was the cost, and dealing with the station owner, or whoever it was behind the cash register.. I forgot the $49.95 coupon which is online and as a result I was charged $78. I asked for the coupon price but my request was ignored. When I asked again, I was told that the cost of $78 was because I have an old car (99 Explorer), yet the previous day, at another location I paid $49.00 for my 98 Mustang Cobra. Make sure you have your coupon if you use this facility. I have used them in the past, but, I doubt I will again. read more

Just wanted to take couple mins. to thank Smog Tech at Vikhar Valero. I'm an out of area Tow Driver / Operator. Just had my 2000 Honda Accord serviced where I live by Main Auto Manteca Ca. Car was ready to smog & Reg. however even after servicing. The Chk. Eng. Light was still coming on intermittently. Bottom line. Smog Tech was very patient w/me. Plugging in my car multiple times to see if code cleared. Finally on 6th day of coming & going. I took my mechanics advice & ran through for smog. Yes it passed. MY ONLY CONCERN. The Smog Tech after like 3rd day had made a ridiculous cash offer on my car. I'm pretty sure he knew the code was a misc. misfire & he knew he could make a huge profit. The car isn't for sale Thank You. Despite his one attempt to purchase my car. I believe he went above & beyond to accommodate me, my needs & desires to not proceed w/test unless I knew it would pass. I used to come here for the gas, but today, I had the most unpleasant experience at this station. They are cheating at the pump. I stopped my Accord at pump #2, my car's gas gauge was little bit over the half of a tank. I used 87 grade gas, which was priced at $3.099 per gallon. When the pump stopped, the gas pump gauge reading 5.671 gallons had been pumped, then to my surprise I was charged $29.97 on my credit card which was more than $5 per gallon. I went to the inside gas station and told him that the pump had problem and asked him to take a look. He refused to go out to check the pump. He printed out the receipt hand over to me, said, the credit card charge was correct and that was the pump gauge problem. I can't believe this. Then I asked where is the manager. He said manager was not here. I would definitely not recommend this gas station. read more

The smog man took his sweet time smoking his cigarette when I ever so nicely expressed that I was in a hurry. He must have just had a satisfied customer ;) I waited in a garage which made me think of some drug lab. I'm itchy!! All in all the service was fine, my coworkers car passed the smog test, and I was down $70. I'll give this review and extra star only because the smog man has to use a porta john as his toilet.... poor guy, icky. The conclusion to this fiasco? This smog station used to be good, but not anymore. I recommend that no one goes there for a smog check. I dropped off 2 cars there, was told it would be done in 2 hours. I thought that was somewhat reasonable, given how there was a wait already. 2 hours have gone by, I haven't gotten a call. I call them, and they tell me they need an hour more. I told I couldn't wait that long, so they said give them 45 minutes. 1 more hour (total elapsed time: 3 hours) has gone by, I still haven't heard from the shop. I call them again, and they tell me that there's something wrong with their system. They'll need another hour before they can finish. Well, okay, irritating, but plausible. The right thing to do would be to call me and let me know that. They didn't give me any updates, so I told them I'll be picking up my cars. I get there, and see a Jaguar getting tested. Well, this car sure wasn't here when I arrived 3 f*#king hours ago. How did they test this car if there was something wrong with their system? It's one thing to have issues with your system, and it's another thing entirely to lie to your clients. read more
