Best place to get fresh HOT Pandesal. For those who are not Filipino this is a Filipino staple which is a bread roll. They have so many options for different bakery items too. For something sweet my go to is the karioka which is like a mochi ball which is chewy with a hard sugary coating. So delicious. Everyone is very friendly and helpful if you have questions on what to buy. The parking lot is always busy since it's shared with a Filipino grocery store but find a parking spot and get some treats. read more

Bought different kinds of kakanin the other night and so so disappointed!! Man they are old old old! The taste are really old. They taste like they've been in the shelf for 3-5 days. The palitaw is hard and so is the sweet rice bibingka, they feel like as if they were exposed to air for a long time, hopia is ok but still lacks taste. The cheese pandesal is ok. My first taste of Spanish Bread was at Valerio's Bakery and loved it! I can never resist stopping in this little shop to pick up a couple packages whenever I'm in the area. At this visit I also picked up a package of Cheese Rolls. All are wonderful with my morning coffee! The taste always brings me back to my first experience. Love this bakery that I just found. I tried Pan de Sal for the first time and expected them to be salty, but they're actually sweet. Ask for the hot Pan de Sal bread! I enjoyed the Karioka sticks. They were chewy and sweet with the crunchy sugar coating outside. The Ube bread was good too. The ladies suggested me to try some different pastries there, but I just couldn't buy too much bread at once. I would love to come back to try all different kinds of pastries they have. It's located at a busy shopping center, and the parking could be a little challenging to find but many cars go and come if you can be a little patient. read more

Went to purchased 2 bibingka and 2 sticks of karioka at about 6:20 p.m. When I get home within 15, I heated both bibingka and I can see it was sweaty on top and it tastes sour. I heated the 2nd one and it was the same. I called the Valerio's bakery in Panorama City and informed the sales lady who said that the owner was not in. I explained to her what happened and told her that they should not sell the remaining bibingka to other customers. She said that she will inform the baker. I hope this does not happen often. read more

I bought a bag of Pan de Sal, 2 packs of Cheese Ball, 3 packs of Spanish Bread, a pack of Pan de Coco, and a pack of Mongo Bread from Valerio's Bakery in Panorama City yesterday evening. I tried the Spanish Bread on my drive home and I was totally disappointed; it did not taste anything like the familiar Spanish Bread filling of sweet, milky and cheesy treat that would pleasantly delight me. The small amount of filling tasted odd and the bread was too firm. I tried a Pan de Coco hoping it would be better, but it was even worse; the filling was gooey and hardly had tiny bits of coconut in it and the bread was lacking in taste. I tried a Cheese Ball this morning at breakfast hoping it was not as bad as the Spanish Bread nor the Pan de Coco, except for a little dusting of tasty cheese on top, it had a bland firm bun and a soggy bottom. Tonight, I tried the Mongo Bread and it too was not good at all. The bread lacked flavor had very little filling in and between them. The only item I have not tasted yet is the Pan de Sal which I will have tomorrow for breakfast. By the way, I paid $53.90 for all of these which I do not mind at all if the quality is good. With majority of my purchases being disasters, I will never buy anything from Valerio's Bakery in Panorama City ever again. read more

Wonderful Filipino bakery. Located inside of seafood city grocery store on Nordhoff.St. Loved everything that I bought., which were Turon, cassava cake, rolls with coconut filling, bread with ube filling, and bibingka. . They also sell dinuguan and it is so delicious and THE best I've ever found outside of cooking it myself. Definitely recommend and will come back to buy there again. read more

This review is for the service not the food. The food is still good here, the bakery has really good traditional Filipino pastries. Last time I came here I came in with my stepmother, who happens to be Filipina and was treated quite differently than I was last night. I walked in by myself at first with my husband and grandson in tow. When I walked in I greeted everybody and said hello good evening and I was completely ignored and I was really disappointed on how they treated me maybe because I'm not Filipina or I wasn't with somebody who is Filipino. But I really didn't appreciate being ignored and I really think that they should work on that. Anybody who spends money in their store should be treated with respect and greeted if they're greeting you. Last night I got two sticks of donuts, two empanadas and the sweet bread and I came all the way from Porter Ranch to buy them, because I was craving them. But I won't do that again. I don't appreciate being ignored when I was friendly. read more

It's just so unfortunate that Valerio Bakery after ordering hot & fresh pandisal, that they can't even afford to give their customers the proper clear plastic bags for when the pandisal breads cool off. Something that they used to offer but no longer but yet other bakeries still currently do offer their clear plastics for similar pandisal breads. Just so sad that Valerio Bakery has become more "cheap" lately with the consumers. That everything nowadays are a la carte and little things get charged here and there. Just very sad... read more

Valerio's has the best ube bread! My kids love them. The nearest location is this one, on Woodman Ave. It is a 2 hour drive from my house, so when I am in the area, I make sure to go. There are hard plastic screens in front of each register. The cashiers are always kind. They now sell dinuguan and pancit. read more

Fresh and hot pan de sal! I have loved coming to Valerio's bakery for many years and the products are always worth purchasing because of the quality & price. Though I can't remember the cost of everything I've ever ordered here, I'd highly recommend: * Pan de sal -- you can buy them fresh or a day old (for a cheaper price) by the dozen * Empanadas -- always recommend ordering 5 for $5 instead of ordering it for less than that * Pan de ube -- comes in a pack of 6 for around $3 * Pork siopao -- you really can't go wrong with this 4-pack It is also important to note that you must spend at least $5 in order for you to use a credit card, and if you DO use a credit card please be sure to check how much you actually spent because sometimes their merchant will place a duplicate charge and you will need to wait for it to clear before you need to take action. We were heading to Jollibee when we spotted this place, and decided to pop in afterwards for some extra treats to take home. Two words: buko (coconut) pie. It's got a lovely egg tart base with fresh baked coconut on top (read: not artificial/shredded). Not too sweet and pairs perfectly with tea, especially for a scrumptious breakfast. Since becoming a bit of an addict, I've lucked out with timing on each visit as I'm always coming around right when the pies are coming out of the oven. Delightful. Their fried banana is also DELICIOUS. I love Filipino fried banana. Way better than Thai fried banana, which feels like it has a bunch of extra stuff on it to sweeten it up (sorry, Thai temple!). The bag gets so delightfully greasy - and that's how you know it's legit. The location is easy to miss; it's quaint and far less flashy than some of the competitors at the plaza. Their selection is limited but solid, and the workers are very nice--sometimes there is a language barrier (but pointing has yet to steer me wrong). Be back to try more soon! :) read more

SHE REFUSED! for reason that the box is too big for a 6 pieces of turon. The service is beyond friendly and sweet. It is not too large and you will sure find something that interests you. I'm very dissapointed with this filipino bakeshop. I bought a buko pie today and it was inedible, the coconut was too hard and it seems like the crust was store bought and the whole pie was not freshly baked. The bibingka tasted like it came from cheap cake mix box. I ended up throwing them all in a trash can. What a waste of my time driving all the way there for an awful experience. Never coming back. As a filipino I don't mind supporting other filipino but it's getting harder and harder to trust them when it comes to this kind of bakeshop. I tried the pichi pichi that I bought yesterday too sweet for me and it didn't taste like one. Don't go here. Stingy on the fillings. I had gone to the Valerio in North Hills (at the other Seafood City) and the quality is much better. The baker there ain't stingy on the ingredients. I got some pimento filled bulillit(?) and they were loaded with cheese. They were so dang tasty. I live 5 minutes from the Panorama location and decided I'd grab more. What a mistake. It's all bread with merely a thought of cheese pimento. There is an image by somebody else. It is extremely accurate. Can't even see the cheese! It's just a tint of yellow! My love for Valerio's Bakery is well-documented, and this branch is another chapter to that book. Although this branch is smaller, warmer, and situated in an extremely busy plaza, the breads and pastries are of good quality. I've only been here for the Karioka and Cheese Balls, the 2 Valerio's products that made me a longtime customer, and they are perfect. I stopped by near closing time, and the Karioka I received were surprisingly fresh. Their Cheese Balls were also freshly baked and packaged minutes before I walked in. The elderly woman that works at the front of the bakery was super friendly to me and hooked me up with a free stick of Karioka. My only recommendation is for them to keep the store at an acceptable temperature. A lot of the products I saw had a lot of moisture in their plastic packaging, which can be bad news if not handled appropriately. Other than that, I have no complaints. read more

They sell items that are spoiled, low quality ingredients (turon). Will not be returning to this shop. Very poor customer service.

Please don't sell pastries that are stale and old. You know the integrity of the baked goods are questionable when they don't have an expiration date. Turon was not fresh (tasted like prob a day old) - no wonder when I asked to buy 9 they said "we'll give you them in a box if you order 12?? - wouldn't you put them in a box anyway? Or were you going to throw 9 turon in a bag??), the chicken empanadas were very dry and the filling tasted questionable. Hopia mongo tasted off and dry (who knows how old they were?) bibinka was stale and sponge roll was dry and looked better than it tasted. Please don't sell expired/out-dated pastries. read more

What a rip off. I just ate one of their steamed chicken siopao and it seemed like it was 10% chicken and 90% bread. if you read their ingredients listing on the package; it shows chicken as thee majority ingredient by weight which is impossible. Flour is not even listed on their ingredients list on the package. I have siopao from other places and it seems like the ratio is closer to 50-60% meat. I'm going to have to report this to a goverment agency for what I believe is false advertising and innacurrate ingredient by weight listing. Never again. read more
