Unfortunately, we found out the hard way that the recommendation was unreliable. Ninos is a small Italian Restaurant in Knaphill. The decor is Mediterranean in style with a cafe feel to it. Think red check table cloths. Although the restaurant is mainly open in style with closely packed tables there are a couple of nooks and crannies where a slightly more intimate meal could be shared. The menu is traditional Italian, pizzas and pastas with the odd fish or meat dish. It all sounds really nice but, unfortunately, in our experience, the reality is different. A dish of seafood linguine turned out to be a plate of linguini with one, yes, one, prawn. A pizza was similarly lacking in topping and tasted rather bland. We should have stopped at the main courses but decided to have a dessert. Although not offensive in taste these were nothing special. The thing, however, that made this restaurant experience such a poor one was the attitude of the staff. Service was lacklustre and perfunctory. Plates were slammed onto the table and no attention was paid to good serving etiquette. When we came to pay we were given the incorrect amount of change. We politely brought this to the attention of the waitress who saw fit to argue the point. She eventually agreed that the change was incorrect and after a wait of about 10 minutes, she simply slammed the additional money on our table and walked away. We were left to find our own coats. I rarely say to people "don't go to..." as my idea of good food and yours might differ. On this occassion, however, I feel compelled to advise against Ninos.

It was 'all about them', with promising flowery descriptions of their special dishes of the day followed by slow service, uninspiring food and a poor attitude. One 'special' was a mixed meat stew in which the beef was so tough it was actually inedible. The restaurant were unwilling to accept this 'wonderful' dish was anyting less than perfect, but after a long wait (by which time the rest of us had finished) and with some huffing and puffing, they substituted another dish. Another special was a tepid sole in a pink sauce, which tasted of not very much (and was a bit steep at 14 quid!) We felt undervalued as customers, and won't be going back - a case of just too many no-no's at Nino's

February 15th 2019…read more In Evening, me my mom and my dad had a family dinner together.Everything was going great. We first had to book this Italian restaurant called Rigoletto. After we got there we found a very comfortable seat. Mom and I started to order. My original plan for my third course was to eat a pancake called Crêpes Suzette. The waitress said that I couldn't order that as my third course. It was because there would be alcohol in Crêpes Suzette so he suggested me to try another dessert for my third course so I ordered tiramisu. The rest of our meal was delicious! However, our neighbors ordered Crêpes Suzette and we saw the fire flying up two meters high. It was caused by the alcohol. Because the alcohol was strong enough to make the cooking pan go on fire for two meters high. That was a funny & interesting night. I enjoyed eating in the Rigoletto and if you have time, you can go there for your dinner!!! Fun Fact This was my dolci menu!!!
