I'm not a picky guy when it comes to my haircut, or even shop atmosphere, but this place was genuinely terrible. One barber was watching tiktoks while connected to the sound system, the other was smoking a joint right outside the door, and mine was more focused on talking to the others than cutting my hair. Later in the cut, he started to take off the apron and ask me what I thought. I was confused because he hadn't trimmed the top or front of my hair at all. I asked him if he got the top yet and he said "oh sh*t my bad my bad". Later on the other barber began FaceTiming a girl and speaking very vulgar about sexual acts he was going to do with her, mind you his phone was still connected to the sound system. There was a young teenager and his mother in the waiting area and you could tell they were very uncomfortable. Fast forward to the end of my cut and it looks like I got into a fight with a weedwhacker. All jokes aside, the haircut was awful, like a joke awful. How this place has any decent reviews is beyond me (maybe it's only gone downhill recently?). I booked an appointment in advance for a 3:45 haircut, I showed up 10 minutes early because I've never been there before. So I sat there for probably 15 minutes before someone finally asked me if I had an appointment or not and I said I did and he said it'll just be a moment. I'm not a very Impatient person and I really had nothing else going on so I just sat waiting patiently, i also have to say most the barbers werent cutting hair, they were sitting around on their phones and vaping. Another 10 minutes pass and someone comes in for a walk in, they sit next to me and someone comes up to us and i think to myself "ok great im finally gonna get my haircut" but no he asked the walk in dude to come get his cut before me!!!!At this point I was pretty mad but I still tried giving the benefit of the doubt, I finally looked at my clock and realized about 40 minutes has passed so I decided "screw it" and left. He asked me what kind of cut/style I wanted and actually listened. Make an appointment, they're busy and get a lot of walk-in traffic. Once you make an appointment they send you a text message that confirms the time, barber, etc. - this is a great reminder. There's parking directly in front of the door and plenty of plush seating inside. This is not a fancy place (it looks more like a trophy store then a barber shop) but it's clean and upbeat. Valentino's is a barber shop in Cotati. They have about 8 barbers but ROSIE, the only female I believe in the shop has been cutting my boys hair for 3 years now and she is amazing. Rosie takes her time and is very gentle. She is very good at all of her cuts, my boys have had a few different styles, and she has done each one to perfection. My children love her! I would recommend to anyone. They have video games for the boys to play madden and stuff while waiting for each other to finish. read more

Rude and horrible customer service. I took my son here for a haircut about a couple of months ago. Even though he had an appointment they made him wait almost an hour for his haircut. We thought we'd give them another chance hoping it was a fluke. Today we showed up for the appointment we scheduled and apparently the barber who he was booked to see no longer works there. Instead of calling us to let us know ahead of time or setting my son up with another barber they rudely turned him away (wouldn't even take him as a walk in) without even an apology. Cut was $27, I handed over $40, got $10 back- happy to tip but asking would have been nice. Cesar is careful and thorough, super nice guy! Asks a lot of questions for clarification to ensure you get what you asked for. Rear blending needs a biiiiit more work but overall it was a really good haircut, the best I've had in a while.
