Visited last Friday with my partner and a close friend, who has worked in the Hospitality sector for many years. Started off well. Nice warm greeting and roomy table awaited us. The pleasantries stopped there. Once it was established we had a 'voucher' we were treated like second class citizens. The glass on wine included in our 'offer' was a tiny champagne glass, half the size of a normal glass of wine. The starter of Camembert cheese which we paid extra for, was minuscule and bland. The garlic bread made to our specification (with pizza base), was delicious, albeit very expensive. The main courses were mediocre at best. We ordered extra drinks and paid for one person and extra drinks and food, at full price. When offered the sweet menu, we were shocked to discover Valentino's offered NO HOME MADE SWEETS. Not one. We have never encountered this before, in a real Italian restaurant. Worse was to come. We were given the wrong bill, totalling 3 times ours, and Andreas the rudest waiter we have ever encountered anywhere, tried adding 2 coffees included in our deal, to this, to add insult to injury. The girls serving drinks and the other waiter serving us were very nice. What a shame about Andreas and the absence of real desserts. The idea of coupons/offers is surely to muster up new business/repeat custom, not to offend and insult customers with second rate service. read more
