There are truly not enough words to describe how incredible Marvimon was as a wedding venue. We had the wedding of our literal dreams -- an all day affair that took place in both Valentine and Grass Room. Dana (Event Director) deserves every award there is in the wedding/event category. We opted out of a wedding planner because we were pretty confident in putting it together ourselves but of course there was A LOT to figure out and hurdles faced along the way. But thanks to Dana and Marvimon's phenomenal team, the end result was truly magical. Between the organization, attention to detail, genuine care, and the list of unbelievable, pre-approved vendors (including a BIPOC, women-owned, and queer specific list which is where we primarily sourced everything) we didn't realize that we not only got the venue of our dreams but the support it came with was extremely valuable. Not to mention the beautiful furniture, foliage and overall interior aesthetic that was there which removed any need for renting additional pieces. Weddings are exciting but everyone who has planned or is in the middle of planning one knows they are massively stressful. That said, the Marvimon team (ESPECIALLY DANA) didn't have us worried at all. They were one of the biggest reasons we were at ease and confident things were going to run smoothly which I'm happy to report they did with flying rainbow colors! 100/10 CANNOT recommend enough! Attended my company's holiday party at this venue, and it was a delightful experience. The staff was attentive, the venue itself is beautiful, and the interior ambiance is truly stunning. Lots of beautiful wall art and decor. Looks like you're in a tropical oasis in some parts of the venue. While the outside might seem a bit sketchy, the interior more than makes up for it. We cannot thank Valentine DTLA (and the whole team at Marvimon) for going above and beyond and making sure our wedding really was everything we dreamed it would be! Here is a quick breakdown of how it all went down: We originally found Grass Room on Pinterest and always dreamt of getting married here! We went to visit the venue and loved it, but then they showed us Valentine DTLA and we realized that fit us A LOT more! We were looking for a venue that would "WOW" our out of town family members from NY and NE and give them an experience they could only have in LA! The dining area was laid out beautifully with a projector (that we used to project our seating chart and then play clips from our favorite romance movies while we danced), a historic looking bar that spoke for itself, and a ceremony area that's full of greenery (and the best lighting for posed photos)! While the place was a little out of our price range, we decided to have our wedding for 150 people on a Friday and it was worth EVERY. SINGLE. PENNY. Once we signed the contract, we were put in contact with Dana and her team (Clare and Ariel) who helped us every step of the way and was there to answer ALL of our questions (which were a TON)! They provided us with paperwork that clearly outlined the rules of the venue and gave us a list of recommended vendors that have worked the venue before which helped us out a TON! One thing to note as you're considering this place, you will need to pay for a valet with White Label Valet who were very easy to work with and we HIGHLY recommend having since the area outside of the venue isn't the safest. Also, the venue does have security so there was never a moment where we or a guest felt unsafe. We spent a year and half of planning everything with Dana and her team at Valentine DTLA before our wedding. This included visiting the venue, having meetings in person to discuss the layout of everything, and asking us questions for things we never would have thought of to make sure all of our bases were covered. Dana and her team were so kind, helpful, and made sure we felt good when the day finally came and always checked in to see if we were stressing out as we got closer and to see if there was anything they could do to alleviate our worries. When the wedding day finally came, their site representative and our Day of Coordinator from "Pop the Champagne" (who was a DREAM to work with) made sure our wedding day went perfectly and that all the vendors obeyed the rules outlined in the contract so we didn't have to worry about anything at all! As soon as we walked into the venue, all of the stress was gone and the best day of our lives commenced! It seriously was the best day of our lives and we never felt so loved and that's thanks to Valentine DTLA (and Marvimon)! Even our guests were in complete awe of the venue and had a blast as well! We can't speak highly enough of Valentine DTLA and the whole Marvimon team. It's a special, stunning venue that feels like its own little world right in the middle of the Arts District. It has its own aesthetic but also provides lots of opportunity to put your own touches on the space. Clare, Dana, Ariel, and the whole Marvimon team are so good at what they do. They're responsive, detail-oriented, and genuinely kind. We knew we were in good hands when we started to hear from so many of our other vendors--our planner, caterer, bartenders, DJ, florist--that they all also loved working with Marvimon! We're native Angelenos, and it was important for us to have our wedding actually IN the city we love. The neighborhood can change quickly block-by-block around Valentine and there are sometimes encampments nearby. That is the reality of LA, and the Marvimon staff took every precaution--venue security at the door, an attended lot for valet parking, and staff presence during set up and breakdown--to make sure our guests and vendors felt safe, secure, and cared for throughout our wedding day. We got married at The Valentine this past September. We fell in love with the space, it feels like you're entering an entirely new world once you walk in the door. The space is decorated immaculately, you don't have to bring many outside decorations in. The space is magical all on its own. Our guests kept commenting on how cool the space was. The entire team were very communicative and collaborative throughout the entire planning process. During our run through meetings, they helped bring our vision to life, asking thoughtful questions and offering suggestions based on past events in the space. My husband & I got married at Valentine on Friday, 4/5/24. All we can say is WOW. The team at Marvimon/Valentine put in so much hard work and organization (VERY quick to email response as well, bonus!). We loved Valentine from the moment we stepped inside on our first tour last May (it was the only venue we toured because we immediately said "this is the one") and our wedding absolutely blew away our expectations. So many of our guests asked us, "how did you guys FIND this place!? it's amazing!!!" We were ahead of schedule all day, had zero hiccups, and got to bask in the wonder that is Valentine with our guests. A huge draw for us was that they allow their clients to bring in their own vendors, which we LOVED. Every guest was enchanted and we could feel it. We'll never forget that feeling of being transported into the magical mystical Valentine orbit and are so happy our guests got to do the same. We had been told that the Marvimon/Valentine team were a well-oiled machine and now we get to say that for anyone else that inquires about Marvimon venues. Valentine DTLA was our dream venue. It was the only venue we toured & we knew right away. The space itself is stunning. You don't need to dress it up much because every corner is unique and interesting. Included in the rental are dining tables, chairs, benches, and lounge sofas along with a full kitchen (minus freezer), bar area, VIP room, sound system, projector, and outdoor area. You can adjust the lighting and sound in either of the rooms so vibes are always 100. We loved that the ceremony/reception area (greenhouse) and dining room were separate but still connected so that we could flow seamlessly through the wedding program. With 130+ guests it felt intimate but with enough room to enjoy the venue. I'm happy to report that the service doesn't disappoint. Dana, Clare, and the Marvimon team did their best to keep us informed and comfortable throughout the booking and planning process. We had changed our wedding date 2x due to COVID and they were kind to accommodate the changes. Our only note to be aware of is that parking is not available at this venue. If your guests are driving in, you'll be required to hire their preferred valet service. We informed our guests ahead of time that this was the case and to plan to take a taxi or rideshare to the venue. Thankfully that worked out fine - just a heads up since DTLA parking can be crazy. Overall we are so happy we invested in our dream venue. We couldn't imagine having our wedding elsewhere! read more

I recently DJed a wedding here with my company, Waveform Events. We just wanted to leave a review for anyone who might be considering having their wedding or event here. The building is simple from the outside, but once you step inside you are transported to a beautiful and roomy tropical-industrial oasis. The venue was clean and well kept and the staff was friendly and professional. Everyone was so pleasant and easy to work with. The in-house sound system was high-end and provided clear audio throughout the entire event during the ceremony, reception, and dancing. The dining area is roomy and can easily accommodate probably 200 guests or more depending on the layout. For anyone who may be concerned about the location, there were security guards present during the entire event and I felt perfectly safe. The wedding was amazing and all the guests had a great time. I would highly recommend this venue to any couples looking for a unique and hip location for their wedding. We're looking forward to working with the team at Valentine again soon! read more

When I was trying to decide where to get married, my trick was finding couples who had tagged that venue on instagram and messaging them, asking how they liked it. Every single person I spoke to had glowing reviews about Valentine. And I'm here to share mine :) Dana is a rockstar. The whole team is! The contract was far more reasonable than any other. They actually allow guests to stay until 1 am which was super important for us! And they answered every question in a timely manner along the way. We were able to visit the venue regularly as well. We were getting married in August so wanted an indoor space considering fire season is a real thing in LA now. The glass ceilings in the venue space though had people thinking it was an outdoor venue! If you get married here, I highly rec you tell people to wear colorful outfits. When looking for vendors for our wedding in 2020, we instantly fell in love with Valentine's whole vibe: the greenery, the setup, the giant pink door. We wanted a colorful and fun wedding and Valentine's space was the perfect match! As east coast transplants, most of our family was traveling across the country. On the night, several of them told us how happy they were to come to a California wedding and not just another ballroom, which was 100% because of Valentine's eclectic vibe. While its location may be a bit off-putting for some people, this space is absolutely ideal for any event. It doesn't look like much on the outside but inside is a whole nother story. I came here for a good friend's wedding and upon walking in I was immediately taken by all the architecture. I believe several people have said that it used to be a seafood market, even a brothel. There was so much to admire. The ceremony took place in the greenhouse area which was perfect for an afternoon wedding with natural sunlight coming through but not to where you're roasting under glass. Near the entrance was a bar area with bartenders slangin' drinks. I think a fair amount of people hung out here. Next door was the dining room area that easily had room for about 200 of us. One wall had a giant projector and on another was a side entrance from outside and a path to the kitchen area. The serving staff went above and beyond to get everyone's dinners out and eaten so that we could head back over to the greenhouse for the dance party. The sun had setted so it now looked like a garden party with strung lighting. It was so beautiful. I really had a good time in this beautiful space. read more

Valentine is truly a gem of a venue. It is absolutely everything you could ever imagine and more and is breathtakingly beautiful and unique from end to end. It is by no means a cookie cutter wedding venue and you can truly find something different and new each time you turn the corner. The ceremony space is insanely beautiful and offers so much natural light for whatever type of ceremony you're going for. The reception room has these incredible textured walls filled with so much incredible detail. It also features a massive projection cinema screen that allows you to put up whatever you'd like for your event. The back patio is amazing and there honestly isn't a single bad thing that can be said about the venue. We were having a hell of a time finding a venue and it took us all of 15 seconds to know that Valentine was the IDEAL spot for our wedding. Beyond that, the team and everybody we dealt with were so kind and responsive throughout the entire process. Dana, Alex and Clare who make up the Events team were an absolute dream to work with and made every single step of the way so incredibly easy. This was the first venue we saw and we were in LOVE. Working with Lars and Dana only enhanced our experience. We loved the space, alongside our photographer who was so excited to shoot there and our guests who had looked it up online beforehand and had their interests piqued. With COVID 19, it through a whole wrench in anyone's wedding experience. Dana worked very closely with me and kept me sane as we figured out solutions that made everyone feel safe. We re-worked our contract and re-signed given new CDC guidelines and felt like we were good to go. A week before the wedding; however, I received an email from Dana saying that some of her staff were still uncomfortable with some of the elements of the contract. This seemed a little puzzling since a month before we had worked so hard to re-write the contract and agree before we paid our biggest and last payment. We did our best to work within their changing concerns, but it was a little frustrating to us since we thought we had already nailed things down and getting more emails about changes the week of your wedding is not something any bride wants to have to handle. The day of our wedding was beautiful and lovely. Valentine delivered on all the things they promised on. The guests loved the space and I'm sure once we get photos back it will look incredible. We did hear afterwards from many of our guests that the Valentine staff were shaming them for being at a wedding during COVID 19 and telling them they were threatening their lives by being there. This just broke our hearts! We understand that many individuals have different convictions with COVID, but we honored all of their requests, made tough decisions cutting our guest count, and agreed to all the requirements to ensure everyone felt safe (temperature checks, masks, social distancing, etc) and we thought it was pretty unprofessional for the Valentine staff to be complaining to our guests and making them feel bad. It is fine to have that opinion, but on someone's wedding day maybe keep it to yourself or don't work if you don't feel safe. read more

Even when dealing with last minute changes, Dana and Clare kept us organized and sane. Their rules were very clearly laid out and they made sure all the vendors were familiar with the space, making the wedding run so smoothly. The space was so beautiful, with all the greenery, greenhouse roof, and dining room skylight, it barely needed any additional decoration, which was a big plus! Perhaps one of the most invaluable things we received from Valentine was their recommended list of vendors (as my wife and I were taking on the wedding planning ourselves with day of coordinator support). The recommended vendors list served as our compass to guide our vendor search and allowed us to secure trusted partners over a year out from the wedding date. The team was extremely helpful in helping us work through day-of logistics closer to the wedding date be gave us additional recommendations for hair & makeup and lighting that we secured. The team allowed us to access the venue the day before our wedding to do a walkthrough of the ceremony and practice first dance, which was very helpful to build up our confidence. The staff was very friendly and efficient throughout the entire wedding day, coordinating seamlessly with our vendor and coordinator teams to ensure set up and take down were executed in a timely and efficient manner, which allowed my wife and I to fully enjoy the wedding festivities without worrying about logistics. We had our wedding at Valentine DTLA two weeks ago and we are still hearing guests rave about what an amazing wedding it was! It's just such a beautiful space, a work of art, that doesn't need much jazzing up other than some florals. Dana at Marvimon Group was extraordinary in helping us plan and execute our vision. She was very quick to respond to emails and is a true professional. Another really fun thing about the venue is that the ceiling in the greenhouse opens up, so the airflow in that room is crisp and cool, so during the dancing we didn't get all sweaty and gross. What an incredible venue. We threw a NYE wedding here and could not have been happier. Obviously, the space is beyond cool, but you can see that when you tour the space. What you can't see is the amazing team behind Valentine DTLA.
