Had I written this review two months ago my rating would have been five stars. But in recent weeks a situation has arisen that spoiled my opinion of this Chiropractor. Dr. Valentine has adjusted my spine on a weekly basis for more than 12 years. He has made my life livable and relieved me of a great deal of pain. In February 2017, I was diagnosed with a debilitating brain condition that forced me into an early retirement (I'm 56 years old). As a result, I had to leave a position of employment I loved, sell my home of 15 years and downsize to a mobile home. We are currently living on my wife's income alone, which is one-fourth of what mine was when I was working. In the meantime, I'm in the waiting period for Social Security benefits, which I will not receive until 2019. Immediately following my diagnosis in February 2017, I made Dr. Valentine aware of my situation and told him that, because of the abrupt, dramatic change in our financial status, I would no longer be able to pay his monthly fee. HE TOLD ME TO CONTINUE COMING IN WEEKLY, ANYWAY, AND TO BRING MY ACCOUNT CURRENT WHEN I RECEIVED MY SOCIAL SECURITY BENEFITS IN 2019. So, imagine my surprise when I recently received a letter stating he was raising my rates by 50% in order to make up for the income he lost over the preceding months when I could not pay, and HE WOULD NO LONGER ADJUST ME UNTIL I BROUGHT MY ACCOUNT CURRENT - AFTER TELLING ME IT'S OKAY TO SUSPEND MY PAYMENTS UNTIL 2019. So now, I'm in the unfortunate position of having NO CHIROPRACTIC CARE. Lesson learned: Don't trust him. I don't think he deliberately set out to set me up, he's just an inept businessman. Again, my two-star rating reflects my overall experience with this business, not necessarily the results he has achieved on my behalf. read more

I never had been to a chiropractor before but a friend recommended that I go. I had fallen at a grocery store and had constant pain day and night. The pain I was having was in my lower back shooting down my leg, it woke me up at night. My neck was hurting so bad I was having headaches. I went to see Dr Valentine, not knowing what to expect. I have gone 3 times a week for a month and I am absolutely pain free, I sleep all night long and I no longer wake up from pain in my hip or legs. Headaches are gone and neck feels perfect. Dr. Valentine is one of the most compassionate doctors I have ever met. After a very traumatic accident, I was referred to Dr. Valentine's office and he saw me the same day and spent quite a bit of time with me on my initial evaluation and listened to every concern I had. His friendly tone of voice and caring manner instantly made me feel very safe. His office staff is also very caring and bi-lingual which is always helpful for the public! Dr. Valentine assured that I received the care I needed. He also referred out to other specialists which I found very helpful in my healing process as well. I am unhappy with my experience here. I had a Living Social deal for a consultation, adjustment and massage. Was able to get an appointment next day but when I went in, Dr. Valentine just told me I needed X-rays and didn't even address or examine the problem I came in requesting help with. He said I could get the X-rays done there for $50 or I could go to my own doctor through my insurance. In the past I have had chiropractic work done by a wonderful Doctor in Tucson and this was just a whole other experience... I went with a Groupon for a Chiropractic exam, adjustment, and then prescription for a massage to be had on a different day. I have not yet had the massage but my experience with Dr. Valentine was less than pleasant. First of all, while waiting for him to get to me I heard him make sexual jokes with a few of his other patients. This made me very uncomfortable. Granted, I love a good "that's what she said" and other jokes, but hearing a man whom I don't know and is about to put his hands all over me make them in the next room was just disturbing and clearly unprofessional. While he pinpointed some of my problems, overall he was just an uncomfortable person to be around. He asked me what I do, I told him that I'm a Bible student at Biola University and I plan to go into the pastoral ministry. I could tell that was distasteful to him, he couldn't believe my husband would be okay with that. I don't really want my chiropractic to express any opinion regarding my personal decisions that affect my spine health 0% Overall, I am very happy that I will not have to be seen by him again. Waited in a room for Dr Valentine for about 45 minutes. I went as my husband wanted to start a Groupon deal of seven visits to ride a machine. Valentine examed both of us and saw wear and tear. I feel great and husband does not have problems but does slouch. Husband got on the ten minute ride machine without an explanation of its purpose. He left us unattended as he went to work on some else. After the ten minutes, I got on machine waiting for dr. Never came. You would think that someone should be supervising us. I no longer wanted to wait so we walked out. Receptionist had no clue. I do not plan to return as I saw no benefit on the first visit. Husband should get my portion back or get a total of 14 sessions. Husband is cheap that he hasn't learned that it ain't worth it. read more

Doc V is a great guy and an even better Doc. His adjustments have helped me significantly. He help me with recovery from a major craniotomy and hernia surgery and has worked around my bleeding disorder. NEGATIVE COMMENTS!?! As far as the negative comments made. Please! He treats the whole person and not just the back or doing adjustments. If a patient comes in and is talking to him about something, even if it's politically incorrect, it's because it is something that is upsetting or bothering the patient. That stress can be the cause of physical discomfort and the doc needs to know. Even tho that conversation maybe overheard it is a private issue between the doctor and patient. The doc is patient and understanding and compassionate non-judgmental person. It's not his place to reprimand his patients for the topics of conversation. I go there to get treated for pain not to worry about what the doc is talking about! He manages my pain and has a great attitude. So does his staff. read more

I had also bought Groupon for the Chiropractic/ massage deal. Went there and filled out the paper work then waited outside for about 40 mins before the receptionist told me they were behind. That's fine but would have been nice if I was told earlier. Once i finally went in I sat around in the room and waited for another 40 or so minutes. He probably checked my back for about 5 mins then that was it! I was already a bit upset as it was a waste of my time. When i tried to make an appointment for the massage they didn't have any openings. Luckily one of my friend couldn't make their appt so i took their spot. Went there after work for my massage appointment and waited for an hour. It was 7pm and I was pretty sick of all this waiting so i just left. read more

Dr. Valentine really shows he cares about his patients. When i went to a consultation with him, he did xrays and consequently recommended for me to come 3x a week, then 2x a week, then eventually get down to 1x a week. This is very expensive and I could not afford to come that often. I am a college student and he felt really bad for me and just wanted to help. He set up a VERY reasonable payment plan with me and made it possible for me to come 3x a week. His adjustments and advice really helped and after a couple weeks i could tell a difference. I have been going to Doctor Valentine for 17 years after having gone to my regular doctor and could not do anything with the pain I was having. He told me exactly what was wrong and was honest and told me it would take time because of my condition. He took very good care of me and my problem I continue to see him on a regular bassis to prevent from having the pain return or when I injure my while working. In the 17 years, I have never heard any type of inappropriate or sexual joke. And yes he is a very busy Doctor and sometimes there may be a wait. I was having terrible neck pain daily before going to Valentine Chiropractic. Then I tried it out with a groupon a while ago and after just a week or two I started feeling better. After several months I really felt even better and I wasn't having daily neck pain anymore. Now I can go at least a week or more and feel great. I still have soreness at times but it's 100 times better than it was and I recover so much quicker if it flares up at all. Plus, Dr. Valentine and his staff are always very friendly and encouraging. It was also great at my first visit to get x-rays and a sound explanation to the pain I had been dealing with for so long and a plan to fix it. I was also having vertigo and that is much better too. I'm 68 years old. Last year I got a beach cruiser for pedaling around the neighborhood and I've even ridden down to the beach. I came in with a groupon. I had an appointment. However it appeared that 3 people were scheduled at the same time and as soon as I informed the chiropractor that I had a groupon. He just placed me on the vibratory for 10 minutes. Once I completed it he came out after 12 min and stated that I was done. I informed him that I had a groupon fior a consult and 5,sessions. I was asked to wait. After 50 minutes when I enquired with the receptionist I whom I informed that I had had a 4 pm appointment he checked with the chiropractor and I was told I would have to wait another 20 minutes. Mind you during this wait he had proceeded to see the other 3 clients who appeared to be covered by insurance . If the practice considers groupon clients not worth their time then they should just refrain from providing the discounts at Groupon. It totally made me feel like unwanted and I was just there to waste his time. If I could have scored him a negative 10 on a scale of 1-10 for customer service I would absolutely have given him a negative 10. If you are a client who sees his via insurance or payment I am sure you will get better service. So based on my experience anyone who has a groupon or living social deal don't even bother. read more
